Haha and good point - I'm put off by the fact they aren't using their own photos. Says it's genuine and all, and they have good feedback, but idk.

A sight should be helpful so yeah, I would say you should get one. They help with quicker target acquisition and a clearly view on target and all that. Optics with a high magnifications aren't really necessary because you won't usually need to shoot far anyway. I would say definitely pick up a sling. It's a lot more convenient and comfortable than carrying it around all day. I bought a 2-point bungee sling off eBay for £7 but it feels cheap and a bit shit. I'd recommend saving up a little bit extra and get a half decent clone or inexpensive genuine one like any of these: http://www.tactical-kit.co.uk/blackhawk-universal-tactical-sling-70ut00bk-533-p.asp http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Viper-3-Point-Universal-Adjustable-Tactical-Sling-Rifle-Air-Gun-Airsoft-Strap-/400299337187?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&var=&hash=item5d33b325e3 http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/airsoft-slings-and-other-retention-equipment/asg-strike-systems-single-point-bungee-sling-black.htm#.U_D_ZfldXWg I have the last one and it's made out of softer and better quality material than the £7 one I bought (you can tell the difference straight away)

I'd say just go for a G&G Combat Machine. Normal limit should be 350 I think, but best check with your local sites.

Surplus stuff would be a good idea. Might not be original or offer the best concealment depending on what your site is like, but you can pick up an MTP UBACS for £20 and a pair of trousers for £18. Bullseye Country Sports & Baseline supplies sell Invader Gear clothes which look good quality and they do lots of camo such as CADPAT, MARPAT, A-TACS FG (isn't genuine pattern but close!) Military1st and Flecktarn.co.uk are good websites for gear and clothing too. I also really like the tactical gear websites (Tactical Kit, UK Tactical) UK Tactical always has a load of stuff on sale really cheap, whereas Tactical Kit doesn't have as many sales but they do a load of giveaways on their FB page. I would highly recommend UK Tactical for pouches. For a chest rig or vest you have a lot of choice so any of the websites I've mentioned. Tactical Kit for eye pro and things. Asian airsoft websites for misc stuff, accessories and so on (I'll list some later when I'm on my computer) like a FAST helmet. Hope this helps!

G&G gr25 issues -Help is appreciated
Airsoft_Mr B replied to beedenboy's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
I believe it's the type / style of bipod from what I have seen. If you search for one on eBay or something you should find a load anyway.I seem to remember hearing for some reason the G&G SR-25 mags don't actually work well in the G&G GR25....? I'm not sure though, just a thought / something I seem to remember reading. I can't imagine the BB weight will affect the gun in that way (.12s can, but I highly doubt .20s. would) but I know there is a hop rubber (a madbull one I believe) which claims to help stop double feeding issues. The name escapes me but it could be the shark hop up rubber. I would recommend you try some 0.25s and 0.30s in the gun though. It should work better with those. -
I'm under 18 and want to play airsoft
Airsoft_Mr B replied to Thealebear's topic in New Players & Arrivals
It doesn't seem like people consider buying a two tone gun and then just covering up the brightly coloured parts with camo tape. As long as it's put on when you get to the site and you take it off before you leave, it's fine to do it. I also don't see for this reason why you couldn't have a realistically coloured stock and handguard to replace two-tone parts whilst at a skirmish (again, as long as they are removed before you go) If you don't have a defence (say you don't have the time to get one or you aren't going to be able to skirmish often or whatever) then it's a good idea. Even if it's two-toned though money shouldn't be changing hands if you're under 18, right? (Only gifting) -

Don't worry about asking questions and sounding stupid, it's what the forum is here for. We were all new to airsoft at some point and the community is here to help out and share knowledge. -

Yes. It's completely legal for someone who has bought it and has a valid defence to have gifted you a RIF. There are no restrictions against ownership, but the VCRA covers manufacture / sale / import. Therefore if money changes hands it is illegal, but your dad could just give it to you and that would be fine. Not that anybody would know if you did pay them back (i don't encourage you do that though, try to stick to the rules) I'm 16 so my dad has bought all our airsoft guns and my understanding was that they would still legally belong to him and and are his responsibility, however it was recently told that they are in fact mine because they have been 'gifted' to me (although I never bought them myself in the first place) -
What's it shooting at now?

I've seen them this cheap from Ali-Express...but £13 in the UK!? Thoughts?

I got mine for £8 on ebay and for the money it Is actually great. Personally I'd get one
-
you get waht you pay for.. seen many airgunners use this or similar.. then again, airguns are not ran around with in the same way that airsofts are
-
Looking at everything else they sell they've bought a box load cheap from China and are knocking them out for minimal margin. For £13 it might be worth a punt.

I'd say go for the 416. The Boogie Regulators are awesome, they won't steam up if you keep moving. I'm going to get some myself. I don't know if they will fit with the metal mesh half face mask though. Shemaghs will mean your eye pro is more likely to steam up so I would say go for the scrim net scarf, I think if you wrap it around your face enough it should be enough protection. If you look on the websites they should tell you their rules on full face masks and ages. I know F&O allow U18s because I went to their Heywood site before it closed down If you use eye pro and some lower face protection like the mesh half face mask it probably will count as full face. I guess it means you can't just use a shemagh or something (must have some hard protection like mesh or a neoprene / cordura face mask thingy) Nice to see another Yorkshire airsofter Manchester woodland will probably be my local site once I start airsofting again. There's also Alpha One Airsoft - near Dewsbury way IIRC.

Nope. Again, would recommend against any precision rifle as a first gun. There's nothing stopping you, but you probably won't enjoy it as much as you think to be honest. I'd rather be in the action rather than sat back from it all most of the time. Sniping takes a lot of patience and you won't get a lot of kills in a day. Check out the YouTube channel 'REMF Tacticool' (it's CKinnerly on here) he talks about reasons why you shouldn't get one. It's gas, and they are also strongly not advised to have as a beginner. You need to be prepared to maintain them frequently and thoroughly. Thirdly, it's HFC. Not a very good brand as far as I know. I don't know if aftermarket parts will be compatible with it and I doubt the performance will be very good. A spring sniper rifle such as the A&K M24 I have would be more reliable, but you can spend up to £300 just on upgrades alone. I realise now you said you just want it for plinking...I would only ever say you should buy from those 'bb gun' websites if you want a plinking gun. Just read through the thread on justbbguns. Everybody recommends the G&G Combat Machines, you could pick one up for £100 from Pro Airsoft Supplies. It's an excellent retailer (voted to have the best customer service too) and the rifle is transparent (partially) so you don't need a defence. A good battery and charger would cost you £50 at the very most. So there you have a great gun not only for some backyard stuff but also a skirmish capable RIF that will certainly be good enough to actually play at a game with. Not only this but you could upgrade it a lot more externally and internally. If anything breaks in the future there will be spare parts whereas this isn't guaranteed for the HFC sniper rifle. I really wish I'd got a Combat Machine myself but I made a stupid mistake and bought a sh*tty CYMA M4. Still kicking myself over that decision. Don't want anybody else making bad decisions on guns because it can take you a long time to save up for another. My dad isn't going to let me buy any more guns for a while now after this (even if I sell some because it means we just lose money) Sorry for the long answer but I hope it helps. -
http://store.specwarfare.com/en/flyye-mbss-hydration-backpack-olive-drab http://www.ebairsoft.com/modular-assault-pack-hydration-p-6433.html I'm not sure if all manufacturers include shoulder straps with em, but these have so you don't need to attach it to MOLLE.

If you're still interested in a belt rig I'm not sure of anywhere you can buy the Condor ones...there's this as an alternative but it's a bit more expensive. http://www.tactical-kit.co.uk/blackhawk-enhanced-molle-padded-patrol-belt-41pb-7011-p.asp

That's the one. Zero One is also a good place to look. http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/index.php?cPath=268_318_403_494 For some reason it says 'Due Soon' on every one. All of them sold or something?
-
If you're looking for an M4... G&G Combat Machine range. Without a doubt. Literally everyone recommends the M4s, they're the best you will get for the money. Excellent for a beginner and they can be upgraded a lot externally as well as internally should you wish in the future. Wish I had got one!!

Welcome!

I think it's pneumatic blowback on all G&G guns. Therefore if it breaks nothing else is affected. Blowback isn't going to make the gun any more realistic though. It is simply a plate inside the ejection port which moves back and forth (to simulate the bolt) There's no recoil engine weight in the buffer tube like there is in an RM4 or TM Recoil Shock. It should sound a little better than your standard AEG, but I don't think you'll see or feel it moving.

VAT - 20% Import Duty is 5% Courier charge would probably be around £5 up to £10. IIRC you need to pay VAT + import duty if it costs over £50 or so. That's why if it's something relatively cheap you don't get charged any extra. Example I remember is when I was looking at how much a KWA RM4 ERG would be. They're £330 from Land Warrior Airsoft but only $380-ish (£225) from eHobby Asia. But... once you add on shipping (£40) tax (£50) duty (£12.50) other charge (£10) Isn't worth it. That's not to say getting a P* from the US won't be though. Depends on what it is, because someone on here (sorry I always forget who) bought a GHK G5 and 6 mags for the price of a G5 plus ONE mag in the UK (from eHobby Asia)
-
I'm also going to be buying the exact same rig as well as a WAS DCS plate carrier and was looking for a battle belt to go with them both. I can't find Condor battle belts anywhere (in any colour), but I found a Bulldog one which includes a yoke too for ~ £35 or so (ukmcpro) If you want taco pouches then there are Warrior ones, wouldn't recommend ACM clone tacos because they don't hold the magazines very securely. Tactical Tailor stuff can be bought on eHobby Asia as well, so it's a bit cheaper but a lot longer wait. The shades of CB / OD etc vary depending on manufacturers so it's best to buy all the same brand.

What was your first ever airsoft weapon?
Airsoft_Mr B replied to JamesAirsofterAgent's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
My first gun was a Classic Army MP5K PDW. Bought it probably about 3 years ago. Lost the screws for the stock so it's basically just a normal MP5K now (but without a sling swivel) Was contemplating keeping it and upgrading it but not sure as I would really like a G&G MP5A4. Second gun was a Cybergun BW-15 M4 CQB-R (made by CYMA) I honestly hate it and it was a stupid decision! >:-( wish I'd have got a G&G instead. Wish I had not bought another gun at all and just saved my money. I thought it would be a good idea to get an M4 because you can upgrade them a lot but it turns out the thing feels and looks pretty horrible, the RIS is cheap and wobbly, and there are hardly any metal parts on the rifle at all. Oh and it uses old Tokyo Marui designs so the delta ring and barrel design and stuff is completely different to newer models or something - so you can't put real steel parts or Magpul PTS, or even just other manufacturers handguards on it. The barrel is not threaded so you can't put a different flash hider or suppressor on. I bought a Magpul PTS stock and it wobbles loads. If you mean my very very first airsoft gun it was supposed to be a spring Colt 1911 sort of thing (except it looked like a dodgy Hi-Capa) replaced that with a clear spring GSG 92.
