  1. Specwarfare site suddenly not working...trying to tell me I need to stop looking at stuff I think

Rydair just found out has been down for yonks too.

      Must stop looking too

  2. I'm 17, thought I'd need full face too but First & Only rules are you can wear just eye pro from 16. They should count as full face protection, quality of the goggles should be ok as well (I sometimes use Swiss Arms ones but a different style) Not sure if they will fit well together though? I say that cos I've never had a mesh mask that is compatible with the goggles I use. Maybe consider looking somewhere else like eBay for the mesh mask as it might be a bit cheaper
  3. The polymer ones are fine, I reckon the internals will be practically the same. As Tac said the metal receivers aren't great and generally pot metal (in fact will break much more easily -than the plastic ones- apparently)
  4. It should be okay but probably not the best for the money unfortunately. I have a CYMA M4 as well but heard they're bad. Would've rather bought a G&G for around the same (think I paid £150 for mine and could've bought a Combat Machine CM16 + battery and charger for about the same price) A new battery and charger is a good idea, as the ones which come with guns are never good quality. You will want at least a couple for a day as well in case one runs out. In terms of face protection you can fit glasses underneath I'm afraid there's really no good options unless you're prepared to pay a lot for goggles / glasses and prescription lens inserts. My dad uses Bolle PILOT / PILOPSI goggles which have cut outs inside so your frames fit, but on the other hand the downside is they're designed as safety goggles and look a bit sh*t.
  5. Yeah everybody recommends them. I'd say best M4s for the price in the UK, and the 30th Anniversary edition is really nice looking and not as common or boring as the standard Combat Machine
  6. ^ Was gonna link the same thing...it seems like so much work though. I guess that's what you gotta do if you're serious about having a good performer. Seriously wish some company would actually implement modifications like these into stock guns but it'd be ridiculously expensive if they're only making them to satisfy a niche And yeah externals mean nowt - all these DMR guns (e.g. G&G GR25) are just normal AEGs!! Nothing special about them at all really, all aesthetics. I don't know much on this area but I'd suggest looking at P&J rifles from TaiwanGun, re-branded A&K ARs / SR-25s and all only around £150. I've heard it's easier to do with a GBBR and it's something I'd thought of trying with a Tippmann M4 (given it's a 'affordable' alternative to a P* or SMP) but with the proprietary hop etc it seems unlikely. If it is entirely possible to get it to a decent standard just changing parts then you want the best quality barrel (Prometheus afaik) you can get as opposed to length and a good hop. And heavier BBs of course. Probably 0.28-0.30, anything above would be too heavy? 0.20s, 0.23, 0.25 is normal weight for AEG users
  7. 1) Say 'we are a team' to the lads 2) Rock up to a skirmish together 3) = a team ... If you want to be some serious team and represent, get yourselves some team patches made or something, organise a uniform in one camouflage pattern? So you can easily identify each other. As above there aren't any specific rules or declarations you have to make if that's kinda what you're asking.
  8. I was just about to link one of those as well http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Micro-T1-Red-Dot-Sight-QD-Mount-Killflash-included-T-1-Scope-Airsoft-Black-UK-/131126903814?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1e87c5c406 And handy that it includes a killflash to stop the lens getting shot out (which does happen)
  9. 99% of them are all gonna be produced by the same manufacturer, then re-branded by WE etc. The 'Reflex' style red dot sights for example are all the same as far as I know except some cost more because of the name. They're under £20 on eBay. One exception appears to be Swiss Arms because they've been recommended to work well and hold up on GBBRs which would suggest they are better quality. http://www.actionhobbies.co.uk/Swiss-Arms-Mini-Dot-Sight_AS8C4.aspx#.VT5yfyFVhBc
  10. Opinions on JG AUGs? I've seen lots of things saying they're bad, but ok once upgraded? Also is it worth getting the A1 version, is the scope any good?

Unless you specifically want an A1 get an A2. You can fit what you like to it then.

I kind of wanted an A1 because I think it looks a lot better (and thought it'd fit loadouts better cos it doesn't look like just a civ variant...but ofc the Australians have upgraded their F88s a lot since they first adopted the AUG so the old style is obsolete now anyway)

And the A1 is about £30 more and if the scope it a bit sh*t then would be a waste . Yeah I should get the A2

      Cheers btw guys

A2 is a very very poor representation of any weapon produced by Styer/Thale unfortunetly. If you dont wear a face mask the scope on the A1 is just in the sweet spot. With a face mask its very awkward. It is slightly magnified which helps with picking stuff out.

  11. Welcome! Unfortunately there aren't really any good options for eye pro if you wear glasses. I only know Bolle PILOT (PILOPSI) goggles fit over glasses but they are designed for safety and are bright orange inside. Looks a bit shit but nothing else would work for my dad.
  12. Aren't there any airgun forums...?
  13. There is actually a review section, but no worries. Might get moved by a mod. It's a tight fit because WE Glocks are not exactly 1:1 scale and the frame is slightly wider than the real firearm.
  14. agh I'm supposed to be saving money...gone and bought a Platatac SAS Smock and GBH (boonie hat) in AUSCAM DPCU So that's ANOTHER unnecessary loadout started couldn't help it though Since I'm getting an AUG in November might as well do an Aussie inspired loadout Was going to get a JG AUG A2 (£86 - TaiwanGun) but could get an A1 instead for £115, so not based off the F88 but close enough. Probably won't notice the differences between the JG and TM (which is based off the Australian version) and I could buy the Austeyr flash hider.
  15. What are you specifically wanting to lube in the gun? Silicone oil will damage parts like the hop rubber. To be safe you should only use it for the designated purpose which as far as I know is just for adding to your magazines.
  16. I'm taking it that you're not a UK airsofter?
  17. AFAIK Swiss Arms optics are good. I think it was PT who said so (who has a G5)...anyway Action Hobbies sell some. There's also a real steelbrand that is usually sold on Amazon, someone else will probably mention it later, which is well priced. (because it's not the best but above airsoft level so can survive recoil, and it's Chinese made IIRC) WE probably won't be up to the job - 99% of optics are the same OEM'd product re-branded by different companies. In fact I saw someone had used one recently on a GBBR and yeah it broke. Just the brand name pushing the price up. Real sights would be bought from places like LANTAC (lannertactical.com) UK Tactical, Tactical Kit / Gunpoint Gear...various hunting shops like Uttings.co.uk, Riflecraft (they do a very competetively priced Vortex red dot for ~ £140 which is good compared to an at least £400+ Aimpoint or EOTech considering we're only looking at using them on airsoft guns)
  18. Doubt it, the auctions don't know the law / give a shit. I've been told about this before as my dad has seen airsoft guns for sale before at auctions.
  19. The ASG B&T Tracer Unit is the best value for money, anything else cheaper than that (Big Dragon) will be sh*t. And as you said owt else is pretty expensive (TM / Madbull etc) Were £39 from Patrol Base and they sell WE and Blaster tracer BBs there too. The thread on the barrel will be 14mm, it's literally only a handful of guns which have anything else (16mm on the KWA Kriss Vector for example, 22mm IIRC on sniper rifles) what you need to know is if it's CW or CCW Again only a few guns like G&Ps are CW though. External parts aren't going to be essential, but like you would with a real gun don't put too much unnecessary sh*t on it otherwise you're just gonna have a heavier, bulkier / less manoeuvrable gun with attachments that probably aren't even being used. Also I wouldn't recommend getting any magnified optics for airsoft, as you aren't shooting very far. in fact most of the time you don't need an optic at all in my experience, you are better off just looking at your target and watching the BBs, If you are doing longer range stuff say you're a sniper / DM then yeah but otherwise not much point spending money on a scope. As said by Tac a red dot sight will be better. I'm pretty sure if it's a scope it's an actual magnified optic, so you don't call a red dot a scope because there's no magnification. Correct me if I'm wrong ofc :|
  20. There's only Classic Army and JG as far as I know. Similarly priced as well I think (in the UK) Classic Army I would assume are going to be the better manufacturer. ASG ones are just re-branded JGs with Steyr trades.
  21. They're probably the same internally so whichever you prefer the look of really. And yeah, the MOSFET is worth it. Hard wired will provide more feature and protection but if it's the one I think it is you can simply plug it in as well.
  22. Cheers Mack found em now http://www.ebairsoft.com/cargo10-tactical-pants-with-inside-pads-p-6361.html http://www.aliexpress.com/item/TMC1909-RG-Cargo-10-m-knee-pants-with-inner-lining-M-L-XL-free-shipping/1667343574.html Don't really trust ebairsoft though Also bought AI mag today Don't like how the whole Viper section is basically an advert though Just seems to give a description of each product (like you'd find on the website) not a review at all like I was expecting :\
  23. Clumpy mate I'm interested in doing a ranger green loadout, what trousers are those / where'd you get them from? Thanks!
