Like Ed said - the G&G MP5s are awesome bits of kit. A few of my mates have them and they work spectacularly well. Personally I prefer the sliding stock versions but they're all good.

Actually it was pretty restrained for James. Sometimes, people need telling the harsh truth though. There's only so much smoke a person needs blown up their arse. It's difficult to determine the cause of the failure to hit targets from a few words on the internet though. When my M4 was failing to hit people it really was down to the gun though. Even with the hop set right it would barely get 15m. Maybe a bit more description of the problem the OP is having would help.

Another possibility is that he just doesn't appreciate what the range of his gun is. Lots of people don't. But to be honest....it's what I was thinking.

305 is plenty for cqb.

This charger: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Digital-IMAX-B6AC-Balancing-Charger300mAh/dp/B00GGBC8WA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404145806&sr=8-1&keywords=imax+b6 would be much better. Range and FPS don't have a great deal to do with the battery, but rof does. It's not just about the voltage though. LiPo batteries deliver their current differently which gives you higher rate of fire and improved trigger response. Personally I'd stick with 7.4v rather than 11.1v purely because it'll put less stress on your gearbox. Something around 1600mAh should last you all day unless you're hammering the full auto a lot! Of course you cold always get 2 batteries and swap them halfway through the day if you needed to.

If I'm not mistaken it's the same design as the old Marui M4 hop unit in that it comes in two halves. Replacement choices are limited but the Marui ones are pretty good (try Fire Support for them). Otherwise fitting a single piece hop unit involves cutting the lower part out and modifying the lower receiver to take a single piece hop (or going down the whole new receiver route like I did and that's a whole different kettle of expensive fish).

It's just that while yes, some pistols can outrange an AEG, in general they're not really designed for ranged use. As a result 270fps is actually plenty for the kind of close in engagements you would normally use them in. Also (as you'll find elsewhere on here with a quick search) fps isn't everything!

For CQB? Or woodland?
-
Why do you think you need more than 270fps?

This. I'm sure we've all been guilty of beginners enthusiasm though. I certainly remember trying to find the perfect ACOG to match my BF3 loadout! Thing is that sights are less relevant to your accuracy than just learning how your gun behaves and how to actually shoot at stuff properly. But yes, best advice to Flex? Spend the money on mags and learn how to use iron sights effectively. Once the sights become a limiting factor THEN look at adding magnification.

Looking at G&G GR25 Sniper.... Thoughts please? Easy Upgrade?

Not just their M14s. My SCAR was firing around 400FPS out of the box. -
In that case, Planet replicas do a licenced Judges Baton (it's out of stock at the moment) which is more akin to the comic version in that it's not an extending baton. If you're intending to wear the costume out to events like MCM or LFCC you need to check the rules on weapons. If you have an extanding baton chances are it'll be metal so it'll be banned. Fixed batons need to be soft and/or flexible too (hence the PR one has a plastic core sleeved with closed cell foam).
-
Are you doing a 2012 film Dredd? Because there wasn't a baton in the film. A point which many have complained about!

I shall bow to your clearly more extensive knowledge (no sarcasm). I've not used a clone Docter but I find all clone red dot sights to be too bright for my personal preference (I usually only play CQB so a lot is in the dark and most dot sights are set up to be "bright enough for use in the day"). Also most engagements are close enough to see what you're shooting at pretty clearly (unless it's dark) so anything other than iron sights is (for me at least) additional weight at best and at worst pointless frippery. All that being said, if you can recommend me a decent clone sight (EOTech/red dot whatever) that can actually dim enough tonot just flare out in the dark then I'll be very grateful!

No it was finger trouble, I've not had coffee yet.

If we were talking about real hardware then yes, I'd agree with you, but seeing as we're talking about sub £100 copies of sights that cost in excess of £1500 I very much doubt that the iron sights moulded onto a cheap ACOG copy would be significantly worse than the Docter sight mounted on the one the OP linked to. I have no doubt that an ACTUAL Docter sight would be far superior but they cost more than the ACOG being discussed. As for the eye relief thing - regardless of the cost of the sight the physics remains the same. The Spectre has a larger diameter final lens so it must have better eye relief even at 4x magnification. Of course if you can demonstrate to me why not then I'd be happy to hear.

You need to go to the Dredd Costume Group on www.therpf.com

Just to be pedantic for a while - terminology. The sight on top of the ACOG is not an EOTech, it's a Docter (note the spelling) sight. EOTech and Docter are brands that make sights that have have become known by the brand rather than what type of sight they actually are (like all Hoovers are vacuum cleaners but not all vacuum cleaners are Hoovers if you see what I mean). Docter: http://www.docter-germany.de/en/products/cat/cat/reflex-sights.html EOTech http://www.eotechinc.com/ So anyway - the sight in question; if you expect to play a lot of woodland/outdoor games then I can see how a bit of magnification would come in handy and the Docter Reflex on top would give you a handy dot for close range work. However you could save a bit of money and get an ACOG with built in iron sights instead that would be just as effective (like this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ACOG-4X32-Special-Forces-Scope-Illuminated-Cross-Hair-/180946284312?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item2a213d2f18 ) Alternatively you could look at a SpectreDR type sight that has variable zoom (switchable from x1 to x4). The other thing to take into account is eye relief (something you should know about from your CCF shooting I guess). The Spectre sights have a longer eye relief which has obvious advantages when trying to sight with face protection on!

Which SCAR L do you have? You may not find a better hop for it as I believe they don't use a standard style. The rubber is the main part you need to be concerned with unless you're getting particularly poor accuracy.

I love Oakley gear but I usually buy mine in the US when I'm on holiday. Their bags are awesome! Just FYI though there is three stores in the UK and I'm pretty sure the Oakley Outlet store is still open in Portsmouth (Gunwharf Quays). -
I don't mean the ejection port cover, I meant the sliding cover inside the receiver - it should pull back with the charging handle. To be honest though I've not seen any M4 where the ejection port cover doesn't flip down when you pull the charging handle back, but I am willing to stand corrected. I'll have a look at my buddys ones later.

G&G SCAR-L CQC (I know, I know, but it's not submachine gun size and actually comes with a screw on/off barrel extension to make it full length). Folding stock, one of the longest rails in airsoft, not heavy and not an M4 (the clitoris of airsoft rifles).
