  1. Twas a joke considering the ad says "patches not included". Despite their crazy pricing even they realise that patches add no value otherwise all my kit would be worth thousands as i'm a patch whore.
  2. https://www.airsoft-hub.com/item/24008-specna-arms-black-double-case I know it's not the most exciting one but damn, £70 for a used double rifle case? Am I wrong for thinking this is too much?
  3. If you haven't already, try ringing them. You'll get an answer faster on the phone than over email. It's interesting that it's around the 260fps mark (with huge variance) and randomly drops to 150fps. I'm not terribly sure what could cause such inconsistency like that. As for the MOSFET it has, I think it's a MOSFET as so far as it protects the trigger contacts from suffering when using 11.1v Lipo and has no programmability so I can't see it effecting or causing any feeding issues.
  4. How long have you had it? I can't see them being able to refuse a return if you've only just got it.
  5. Any stock AEG should be hitting 300fps consistently. I'm assuming you're chrono-ing on 0.2g BBs? Look at the drops in velocity on some of those shots too, there's definitely something wrong and for the price, i'd expect it to be perfect OOTB. Have you thought about returning it and going for a Specna Arms One Sa-H11? £180 less but doesn't have a mosfet or trademarks but for the £180 saved you could add a mosfet and have cash left over if you're not bothered about trademarks.
  6. Quickly went out and bought some wet weather gear as it's supposed to be horrendous tomorrow. Surplus Goretex DPM jacket and trousers as I couldn't get MTP. Hopefully the Goretex lining has held up all these years and I don't get soaked through. At least skin is waterproof Grabbed a US style poncho just in case of showers that don't warrant full wets.
  7. Same. I was looking at this store when building my Mk18 but got lucky with DD style Mk18 rail from another user. I will say that they used to have clear line drawings of all the handguards they sold which made it really easy to understand what you were buying. I wonder what happened to them.
  8. Can't ever have too much information to look over! As for hop unit, I'm a bit stuck because i'm DMR-ing a A&K Masada SPR/DMR. The standard hop unit is crap, I know this because I have the carbine length Masada from A&K and it's hilariously crap and the nozzles break a lot. I installed a Begadi rotary hop into it and while it works well, it makes the assembly/disassembly a bloody nightmare as you have to change the way it's designed to be stripped/built. The other option is Wiitech make a CNC version of the stock hop unit including loading ramps, nozzles, hop arms and brass nubs. The hop adjustment is stepped on a sliding scale rather than a rotary hop but i've heard good things. AirsoftPro make a CNC copy of the stock hop unit but they're difficult to find in stock. I was planning on using Maple Leaf MR 70°. I've seen the Omega nub recommended all the time but might try out these brass ones that Wiitech supply. Barrel choice is an interesting one as it depends what I can find in stock at the time while being in the length I want based on the discussions i've had with Leo Greer about cylinder/barrel volume ratios. I'm looking about the 380mm area with a range of +-50mm.
  9. Thanks for the info. I'm just gathering more info as i'm getting ready to order parts for my DMR build. I'm likely to go for 6.08 or 6.05 depending on what I can actually find in stock
  10. What spring is it using and FPS it's producing?
  11. Magflash rounds were made by the one guy on youtube on a small scale. As far as i'm aware he stopped making them years ago and noone has stock anywhere, I spent months looking. I tried reaching out to the original maker and never got a reply. A guy at my local field is looking into modifying the 12 gauge signalling blanks to emulate the effect as best as he can simply for simulation purposes but that's going to take a lot of time and effort. As for noise level, 12 gauge blanks are, in my ears, no louder than 9mm (.380) blanks but three times as expensive per bang when compared to 9mm prices. In enclosed spaces, .209 primers are loud and are £0.10p per bang. Until magflash or similar are released again, 12 gauge is pointless which is why very few people make BFGs that take 12 gauge anymore.
  12. As much as I like the MP7/9 design is it strange I find the VMP-1 ugly?
  13. Why are Krytac like this 😂 That said, i'm happy with the performance as is and the only 'upgrade' I would potentially be looking at is a Perun Hybrid or AB++ so I can get some AB & precocking. I'd probably go the Hybrid route as I need as much space in my buffer tube as possible as that's where the battery lives in my Krytac. 18:1 gears are absolutely fine and don't need to be changed but was asking about them as I read they're proprietary but haven't actually opened it up as of yet. I still use 18:1 in my Mk18 build and it's competitive in semi & full auto with most other AEGs that aren't DSG. The difference between my 18:1 Mk18 and 13:1 MP5 makes zero difference in the real world.
  14. Amazon. Any 30cm ring/cantilever mount will work such as this. Not sure about throw lever, you'd have to ask others
  15. I'd go for the SA-H22 over the Umarex offering from what I can see, especially with that price difference! An extra £180 for minor receiver differences and a different handguard? The SA-H22 has a programmable MOSFET (GATE Aster) where the listing for the Umarex version doesn't mention any programmability. I suspect it's a MOSFET that is there only to protect trigger contacts when using 11.1v LiPo and that's it. I'd assume the extra £180 they're charging is for the HK licensing they've got on the receiver. Look at the Umarex offering against the SA-H12 One. The receivers are basically the same minus the trademarks. If you dislike the handguard on the SA-H22, with the £180 saved you can easily buy a new handguard/rail and still have more than £100 left over. If I were you, go for the SA-H22 if you're choosing between the two.
  16. IIRC a lot of PEQ boxes come with unregulated (power wise) visible (red/green) lasers that can possibly damage peoples eyes and some even come with IR lasers which are extremely dangerous as it's not visible to the naked eye and your body loses it's 'blink response'. Lasers are also banned at the majority of fields due to people being cunts with them (shining them into peoples eyes). Generally speaking, they really have no use in airsoft as far as i've seen. I'd simply suggest just getting a dedicated weapon light. If it's the aesthetics you're after, i'd suggest getting a battery peq box. It's the same shell, just with no internals. If you're dead-set on getting a PEQ, a gun I bought comes with a generic Amazon PEQ which has a very visible red laser and a decently bright flashlight to boot but has nothing on my dedicated Olight branded weapon light which is like turning on the sun when playing at an indoor field. It's got the IR Laser/IR illuminator which you should absolutely never ever use. I never intend on using this thing and have removed the batteries. While the label says the lasers are both 5MW power, I wouldn't trust it. 5MW is the strength where it takes approx 10 seconds to damage the eyes. Lasers above this strength can be almost instant and lasers below 5MW can still damage the eyes permenantly after prolonged exposure.
  17. I thought the Krytac squeak was primarily down to the motor, not the gears? Can you just replace the stock gears (I understand they're proprietary?) with aftermarket ones or have they implemented some fuckery where it isn't that simple? I don't want to pay Prommy/Laylax £70+ for some 13:1 gears. I've also read that the Krytac motors are a slightly different length/size than "standard" motors which makes it difficult to change but as usual the internet is full of conflicting info. I've been on the fence about doing work to mine or selling it on but I love the aesthetic of the 'wirecutter' handguard.
  18. Cheapest i've found (in black) is here for £299.95. What I don't understand is why the SA-H12 (also 416 but don't buy this one) is ambidextrous plus it has a nice paddle for the bolt release but they didn't do the same for the Edge 2.0 H series...
  19. Here's a link to all of the Specna Arms Edge 2.0 guns. H Series - Styled off of a HK416 platform - Personally i'd go for the SA-H20 or SA-H22. E Series - Styled off of a AR15/M4 platform. In this price range have you considered something like a G&G Predator. You can get it in both a polymer and metal receiver. Keep in mind, Patrolbase isn't the only place to buy airsoft AEGs and there are, usually, cheaper places to get it.

Selling a chest rig that came as part of a bundle. From checking around the internet I believe this is a Condor Modular Chest Set in Multicam. The previous owner has added a KombatUK Admin panel to the 'bib' and doesn't appear to have cut the straps, only taped the excess up with sniper tape. Previous owner has included, what I believe is, a radio pouch on the admin panel also. Can hold 6x M4/AR mags with plenty of molle space for accessories/pouches. Can also hold a 3 Litre hydration bladder in the rear velcro closure panel. Shipping to UK only. Payments via Paypal only. £30 inc postage and paypal fees.

  21. If you're new i'd assume you don't have your UKARA meaning you can't buy a RIF (all black gun for example) from a retailer. This means you're buying two-tone. I'd heavily recommend playing as a rental and getting your UKARA before dumping cash into a gun, nevermind upgrades. Also, two-tone guns cost the same as the RIF versions, if not more because the retailer has to spray it. Assuming you've got your UKARA, you've played a bit with rental gear and enjoy playing airsoft and want to keep playing. I'd also assume that you've noticed how lacking most rental guns are. From here i'd suggest buying a gun and using it stock. Assess it against the rental guns you used and think about what needs improving further. From here you can A. give it to a local trusted tech B. A local player who knows what they're doing or C. send it to a tech such as the previously mentioned Negative Airsoft. Personally I can vouch for TheCageAirsoft who did the work on my MP5. As for Negative Airsoft his waiting list is quite long so you may be waiting quite a while and being a new player, you probably only have one gun (the one you've sent off) meaning you don't get to play or play with rental gear again. PLEASE don't use Dave'sCustomAirsoft. The prices there are fooking hilarous for the work they do and parts they use. Ask as many questions as you need to, there's loads of helpful peoples kicking around the forums who will bend over backwards to help you.
  22. Bespoke Airsoft are also guilty of strange pricing logic. They have two A&K Masada. One that is electrically dead, stock release broke, selector missing and second one that works but the selector is 'broke' and 'needs a service' but they're both priced exactly the same at £148.20. The only retailer i've seen good boneyard/used prices from is ActionHobbies.
  23. They do get beat up, it's a chunk of metal you're throwing around after all. The Swat VTG has a rubberised plastic around it and this still picks up nicks/dings when thrown. The OhShiBooms are nice because they can take 9mm and 12Gauge (if your site allows them). 12Gauge are kinda pointless as 12G blanks are not much louder than 9mm (only difference is pitch in my ears) and give off a puff of smoke vs 9mm blanks which don't. However, they're hilariously expensive compared to .209 and 9mm which makes them extra pointless. There was a guy who used to make 'magflash' 12G blanks which give off a shower of sparks with a flash but he stopped a while ago as far as i'm aware.
  24. But a hell of a lot more expensive. A 100 box of .209 primers is £10-ish which is £0.10p per bang. Mk5 Thunderflashes are £2.50-£3.50 per (retail price). When you look at EG67s and other pyro, you're talking £5-£7 per. I go through a lot of pyro so it get expensive fast. There was a thread posted here about some guy getting his TRMR stolen. The thread includes a video of Silo Entertainment (airsoft youtuber) who apparently puts Airtags or similar inside/on his airsoft grenades to track them.
  25. Got tired of A. having to go retrieve it during a game and B. worrying about someone else picking it up. I have a timed & impact BFG (SWAT VTG and OhShiBoom) but they don't see much use honestly, the impact sees more use simply because it's an impact and catches people off guard. I mostly use paper pyro like Mk5/7 Thunderflashes, EG67s etc. which lets me just throw pyro then carry on as normal. This just means at the start of a game i'm carrying what someone once called a concerning amount of pyro. I have a dangler/scrote pouch on my chest rig that is literally just filled with pyro.
