  1. I'll have to check whether my wire stripper tool can also crimp... But can't a decent pair of needle nose pliers in my highly skilled hands not do the job?
  2. Thanks, I bought these as they're cheap, with free delivery tomorrow, spot on!
  3. One of the female spade connectors to connect from the gun to the motor has broken in my Classic Army M15... I went off to Halfords and bought the smallest one they had, but it's still mahoosive compared to the diddy litle thing on the other wire. I'd say it's about 2.5 or 3mm across by memory. (Stupidly I didn't actually measure it when I had the pistol grip apart) I presume Amazon or eBay will be the best place to go (in the absence of bricks'n'mortar Maplin's stores :sniff:) but can someone let me know the absolutely-definitely-no-doubt-about-it correct size to order? Cheers!
  4. Yes you can definitely play with just a couple of mags and a speedloader, it adds some extra jeopardy to the proceedings, makes it more exciting 😋 I bought a specialised adapter from eBay for my VFC 416 mags. I think it made loading slightly easier. Of more importance is the quality of the speedloader. The cheapest ones won't even feed BBs reliable through their own mechanism. The slightly better ones will struggle to push BBs against a strong spring. The best ones work as you'd hope. I have one like that, but damned if I know what brand it is. I believe the g&g speedloader is rated very highly, I've not bought one yet but it's on my shopping list!
  5. I went through 10kg, so ~35,000 of their 0.28g bio BBs with no issues, so yeah 👍 Someone else on here did some scientific testing (consistency, accuracy) to compare different brands, and they came out of that very well too... So not just me that likes 'em £9.50 a bag is a bit pricey unless that includes p&p Go direct: https://www.warheadindustries.co.uk/product-page/warhead-delta-0-25g-bb-non-bio
  6. Yeah, no one wants to spend money on expensive BBs, but we do, because it's a bad place to scrimp. Once you've experienced a gun with BBs jammed in the barrel, you'll pay extra not to ever have it happen again. Luckily, in these days, it seems most BBs are good enough, and it's only the very cheapest that are still rubbish. Those ASGs are probably fine...? If you can afford to buy in bulk then Warhead will be good, and you'll be playing very little more per bag. You definitely need to check whether your local site insists on bio's though. You'll not be allowed to play if a diligent marshal finds you're using non-bio where bio have been mandated. Edit: in fact Warhead BBs are the same price for a 1kg bag of non bios, though I didn't compare the postage. It's sometimes worth trying eBay for somewhere with free p&p.
  7. Oh dear. Looks nice to an AK noob like me, but sadly it seems the QC is so poor (and yet GHK defend it) that's it's not the best choice.
  8. Yeah far cry 2 is a minor classic. So is far cry 3 as it gives some problems with 2. Neither are perfect but still really quite excellent If you're in the market for older games, battlefield 4 gave me many hundreds of hours of multiplayer fun, it's still going strong. In fact all the recent bf games are good. The newest, 2042, is now a decent game after a really rocky start.
  9. Plenty of mp7 discussions on here, including a thread I started Here's a very useful video comparison between the TM and VFC versions I very very nearly bought a new VFC (with an HPA drum mag) recently, but finances dictated I wait until next year. Good luck!
  10. Have a wonderful Christmas day everyone, and all the best for the New Year!

  11. Hah! Is that Linda? I must have made a mistake, mine can't have been her, it only cost £3 for a start!
  12. Blimey that's a bit spooky, I picked up that Top of the Pops album from a charity shop yesterday, and just gave it to my mate. Got the Madness greatest hits album. And The Smiths. (Surprisingly not got Dark Side) Gary Brooker from Procul Harem shares my surname.
  13. Can't argue with that, got one myself and my LPs fit nicely in there Sod this Airsoft lark, I'm off to buy some more flat pack furniture... And records I'll never actually put on a turntable 🥸
  14. A line that I heard, and repeated in my successful job interview was that "programmers won't be replaced by AI, but will be replaced by programmers who use AI". My employers are fine with using whatever tools gets the job done accurately and quickly. So I'm going to sign up for Co-Pilot, that looks amazing. Back somewhat on-topic, I just scored a new piece of Airsoft kit 🤗. And for the princely sun of £3.50... I won an OhShiBoom OMFG grenade off Airsoft Competitions. I only entered it a couple of hours ago on a total whim. Yay! Yes but it has to be said buying BBs is not very optional 😋, and this means we're each buying several month's worth of ammo at a very good discount!
  15. What is your line of work? My problem is my skills are primarily in a particular, dying, IT technology. All the companies that have used it in the past are very actively trying to dump it (or have already) So I've taken a very big pay cut to take a role where I can lean more current tech. It seemed the only sensible option. The warhead BBs can be ordered here £91 for 10kg of 0.28 bio's, plus about £13 p&p, iirc If you're interested we could do a joint order... £186 would buy 20kg, including the delivery? The BBs are packed in 1kg bags. We could do a handover at the first spec ops game next year...? Sorry about nicking the bargains, I've missed out on quite few more I'd have bought too!
  16. I had to look back at all my previous posts this year, to work out when I bought stuff, and to remind me of the smaller bits and pieces. Given I've been out of work for 7 months of this year (got a job now, just started a couple of weeks ago, thankfully!), I'm pretty much stunned to find out how much I'd spent... All the new gats were bought either used or from Action Hobbies boneyard RIF's... VFC HK416 GBBR DE M904G JG G3 CA Scarab Rossi Sniper G&G G36 KJW Glock 17 Total: ~£850 I got 'em all at good prices, but still racked up a bigger total than I expected to see 🙃 I so very nearly bought a new VFC MP7 with HPA-tapped drum mag recently. That would have added another £400, but sense prevailed (unfortunately!) Accessories... Balystk regulator Sotac Eotech clone Warhead ammo bulk purchase (10kg 0.28s) m-pact gloves desert boots rucksack mtp combat trousers 416 odin adapter 2x g36 mags 3x 416 mags FCU for DE906 barrel extension masking vinyl spray paints misc stuff for building garden backstop Total: ~£450 Gamedays... ~10 visits? more ammo (0.28's from site, 0.20's and 0.40's from eBay) gas Total: ~£400
  17. It's a good shout Gavin, but if he's prepared to pay £600 each for 20 fully working GBBRs then I don't think a rubber rifle is going to butter any of his parsnips. Even if they are "very solid, no worrble" ;D
  18. I bought one of these super-cheap scope mounts from Ant-Supplies (£9!), and it's doing a pretty good job with my old air rifle scope It could do with cantilevering a bit further forward, just an extra 3/4" would help with the eye relief from my natural position , but it's 'good enough'. (I suppose I could have the turrets in front of the forward ring, but I think that would look odd)
  19. Because MP5's are SO FRICKIN' COOL 😍😍😍😍😍😍
  20. Yeah, 348fps is great on 0.20's, but once you're running a proper weight of BB (i.e 0.25 or 0.28g), there's a fair chance good ol' Joule Creep will get ya, and you'll fall appreciably, noticeably foul of a site limit.
  21. Yay! congrats! If you got the Raider at a decent price, then it is indeed a fine gun - all the sites using them as rentals can't be wrong. And the Specna looks a great choice - very handsome beasty! Enjoy! And ... do get overexcited and spend a fortune, and then post lots of pics and reviews
  22. Those protectors are very sacrificial, I've seen them cracked and therefore useless. Better off with the Red Dot Engineering ones off eBay
  23. The VFC G3 is awesome, but perhaps it should be discounted for just being absolutely mahoosive and therefore might not always get the nod for a game I'd maybe not choose an XM177 because mounting optics might be a bit top-heavy on a fixed handle, but dang it they look cool. So ... the Scar... ? I fired an HPA'd WE Scar at a recent skirmish and was impressed. It doesn't have the 'wow' factor of the G3 (but then again, what does, except other silly-big FAL's etc) but it makes an awful lot of sense as a platform.
