My G&G feels very, very nice but it uses non standard mags for its differently-placed feed tube. So no M4 mag adapter.

I have a two tone airsoft rifle can I cover the blue without ukara?
RostokMcSpoons replied to ThomasH9's topic in UK Law
Do be very careful not to spill any brake fluid on that blue paint, it might spoil the finish Edit: unintentionally correct advice 😌🥴😅 -
As mentioned in the 'What Have You Just Bought' thread, I've picked up one of these bad boys for a bit of a song from Action Hobbies' boneyard. Had to stick a barrel extension on it for a more SLR feel, and an old red-dot 1.5X sight cos it suits the aesthetic, and bingo, it's close to the classic battle rifle look I really love. I was expecting a polymer receiver, so was delighted to find this has a metal upper. It seems to have been upgraded - the rate of fire with a 7.4v is great. The advert talked of a Gate Aster inside. It seems that's true, I watched a video and it follows the expected Gate Aster behaviour from the trigger programming. I think it has a longer inner barrel too, its poking into the flash hider when in normal carbine configuration. Accuracy seems merely 'ok', but I've only chucked 0.20's down the garden for 15m so far. Might need a fresh hop rubber. But of course, it was boneyard for a reason. It seems to have been upgraded, but there is an issue with the single shot function where it doesn't always fire. You can hear the gearbox cycle but I suspect it's not getting all the way back to the point of release. Next trigger pull releases the pre-cocked spring. I've tried changing the Active Braking from 'auto' to 'off', but that didn't seem to make any difference. Any ideas on things what could be wrong? Breaking open the gearbox will be a last resort, given I don't seem to have much luck with the darned things, but damnit this gun is a lovely bit of kit and I'll want to run it a lot if I can get it fettled. Oh yeah, a handy hint for anyone averse to reading instructions before playing with their new toy - the screw in the buttplate is fake - don't expend masses of effort trying to undo it And be complaining about cheesing the screw head when it's made of plastic The butt plate slides straight down and off to reveal the battery compartment!

Yeah they're Brazi's foremost airsoft manufacturer I believe, for what that's worth They have some quite nice looking AR's which had reasonably good reviews on that there YouTube, so they're a tempting value proposition, but really there's not enough evidence here of their reliability and outright performance to really make a definitive call either way.

I have a Rossi sniper rifle (TM clone) and I like it. But sniper rifles != electric gnus, so not much help really. (And I'm hardly a sniper, just a dabbler)

Sorry (Not sorry ;)) And just to taunt you a tiny bit further, it does look really cool with a barrel extension on it, to make it more SLR'y. I stuck my Acetech Blaster C tracer on the end of that, lobbed an 11.1v battery in, and even with non-tracer ammo it made a very pretty light show in the dark, with an insane rate of fire. I can see why AH said to use a 7.4v, the battery got warm after just a few bursts. I've no idea how long this thing will hold together, and whether it's actually any good past 15m, but so far it's been fun! -

Well, just cos I'm not supposed to do any exercise while my knee(s) get sorted, doesn't mean I can't exercise my digits and purchase some airsoft kit, does it? So I've snaffled a couple of good things from the Action Hobbies boneyard... a large hard case for the princely sum of £12 (it's a bit tired and shabby, but it'll still do the job), and something I've wanted for a while.... an SLR! Well, a FAL. Well, a FAL carbine. But it's still a thing of beauty all the same 😍 A JG 3000 SA/LK 58 with 4 (count 'em) hi-cap mags. And it's been upgraded... a high rate-of-fire compared to my other JG guns, even on a 7.4v. It's allegedly got a Gate Aster hidden inside. But.. yeah, it's a boneyard gun - so it's not perfect - 2 of the hi-cap mags seem a bit buggered so they'll be conjoined into a single working (hopefully), and more importantly the single shot mode is a bit iffy. It's usually fine, but every now and again it won't fully cycle. Still shoots on the next trigger pull. Maybe the Aster wasn't quite set up properly? I'll set up a new thread for tech advice on that. In the meantime I just love the heft of this (metal receiver), and the look of it of course -
I got my 5.1 d.o.r from fire support and they were perfect, decent price and fast delivery. So an upvote for them from me 👍

If you connect to the sling to the outside-facing part of the rifle, it pulls it tighter to your body. At leas that's what I've found with the rear sling loop anyway. Would that be a good enough reason?

I won an Oshiboom off of the Airsoft Competitions site. I've used it in the hard floor environment of Spec Ops "The Fireplace". I've not used it very often yet, but I've had relativity few failures so far, a couple of light strikes on the soft primers I'm using. Mostly from shallow throws that were more like bowling it across the floor.. going to retrieve a failed throw is a bit of a walk of shame 😂 I've also had a really memorable kill in the helicopter which was great, and winkled out a well ensconced enemy All in all, it's a worthwhile thing to have in my armoury.

Coming to you as a total non-connoisseur, who just knocks back anything that'll get me buzzin', is the Brugal and Barcelo stuff I've got from the Caribbean any good, or is it Just For Them Touristas?

Not liking the look of Glocks is quite understandable - it's a box on a grip. However, I rather like handling them. Odd, really. How anyone can find the Hi Power ugly... well I just don't get it I love the look of M9's too, and they're not madly different. Lots and lots of people like them.

@Greenworks either you've been hacked, or you're turning to The Dark Side and have decided to become a spammer I suggest you delete your post and change your password @proffrink and @Jedi_Master tagged to keep tabs on the scenario -
This is a very fair point and there's another thread on the forum where someone loves their 416 AEG. I was very close to buying a used one from Acton Hobbies, because the externals are so good, but chickened out in the end. YMMV... it's down to luck in the end, but that's the case with most airsoft RIFs tbh!

(assuming Umarex = VFC) Nah. Luke at Negative Airsoft hates VFC AEGs with a vengeance I'm a massive fanboi of VFC gas blowbacks, based on my own 416 A5, and my longing for a VFC MP7, but I wouldn't buy one of their AEGs because I trust Luke's opinion

The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
RostokMcSpoons replied to Skara's topic in General Discussion
Mine went well then a bit shit. Too skint to go to Spec Ops Cqb, so I instead spent some time with my Old Skool TM AK47-S. Got a new dust cover a couple of days back from Hutt Armouries (cheers) so trying that out was a good reason to fling a few shots down the garden. It's still impressive. Hitting 320fps on 0.20s and very nicely accurate... The impact point bang on to the iron sights. A bit slow on the RoF with a 7.4v lipo, but usable all the same. Good ol' TM. So that was all good! The shit bit was when I was packing it away. I put the gun on top of a stack of toolboxes, damned thing slid off onto the floor - barely any height, and onto carpet - but enough to shear the pins inside the stock release catch/attachment to the receiver. Bugger. So I now need to find a replacement folding stock, or at least the catch and its fitments. Not much luck so far (remember I've already been on this journey because I was trying to replace the stock release button when that went walkies) Looks like I'll have to pay Chump Tax and buy a whole Cyma stock ($30 at Evike USA) -
M mumI have the 1.25-5 vision king LPVO, and it's served me well very well so far. It's usually been on my GBBR and it seems to have withstood the strong recoil on that just fine. So a thumbs-up from on build quality Other airsofters who have taken a look through it all said nice things too, which suggests the optional quality is decent. (I've taken the suggestion to never look through an optic you can't afford onboard, but more by luck than anything else, I don't think I've had the opportunity really!) If you do want to try to use it in cqb then yes, get the 1x version, but don't expect it to feel or act like a normal red dot, maybe it's psychological (or maybe my extra 0.25x really does screw it up), but worth doing for the small extra outlay I'm sure. 5x max magnification has been plenty for woodland... It's usually at 3 or 4x tbh. Good sight, would happily buy again.

Well, the exciting news that I forgot to mention is that 1. The woodland site resembles a sea more than a wood. So that won't be usable until the sun's out for a good long period to dry it out 2. But Carlos is opening a new woodland site (as an addition!), and it's next to the CQB site - sharing the same safe zone. So if you want to mix up CQB and a bit of full-auto or sniping, it'll be do-able! 3. And the CQB site will be doing sensor targets, room clearances, and maybe some fun nerf / gel blaster / pistol / shotgun things too -

Sunday at Special Ops "The Fireplace" My second trip to Carlos's new CQB site, and this one went better - I didn't get lost on the way, I didn't forget anything, I took less stuff (maybe connected to the previous point), and I had some better idea what to expect Considering my knee is knackered at the moment, I went a bit brave and booked in for the full day - £35 for 9:30 - 18:00 I'm a bit crap at remembering and describing actual gameplay so I'll just throw some thoughts at ya... Carlos has put together a decent playbook of games already He's put together a mildly amusing briefing video that gets all his usual info across in a nippy 10 minutes The helicopter helps block some of the line of sight to the first spawn, but it's still eminently 'trappable' by a good team 'Chopper' jokes might get old when everyone is doing them Grenades are fun Except when it doesn't go off, and you have to make The Walk Of Shame to retrieve it! A full day is a long time if you forget to take a packed lunch (only 'food' available: crisps, choccies and Pot Noodles) The 4-a-side mini tournament at the end of the day was great fun whilst you're playing, but the winner-stays-on style means there's a fair bit of waiting around. Some people bailed out, I was tempted myself as I could barely get up off the floor where I'd been resting. There were some long delays - Jet (for it that is his appellation) got his miniature scales out and checked everyone's BB's to make sure no-one was exceeding the 0.25 limit. The lunchtime changeover dragged on a bit due to stragglers, as did some end-of-game bomb-ups. Still, by lunchtime I was already grateful for the breathers, but others might have been annoyed. Hit-taking was mostly good, but a couple of annoying instances of having to pump multiple shots at people to make them "admit to the hit". This 'ere fat bloke running with a brick of Colombia's Finest Marching Powder, retrieved from that there heli-chopper https://www.facebook.com/100060685493832/videos/pcb.933626975336810/7277546335698561 This chap sitting In Da Chopppppppaaa pinned us down for a while. I made a run and chucked my grenade perfectly in and got him https://www.facebook.com/100060685493832/videos/pcb.933626975336810/435840382287286 "Consult the Book Of Armaments" The main thing is I went with the strongest possible intention to run my Tippmann for it's first proper game (I've had it 2 years already) - and it worked (in every sense!) Yay! This was my first experience of running an HPA system, and the tank and line weren't nearly as troubling as I suspected they might be - once I'd fed the line through my shoulder straps to keep it closer to my body. And swapped the tank from a belt pouch that wasn't designed for such a bulky / heavy item to a lightweight rucksack. The Tippmann was great - plenty of 'bang' with every shot, it really is the next best thing to a proper GBBR. It was also my first game with a tracer unit. Carlos is selling 2000x0.25g Bio tracers for £13 which seemed a pretty decent price, considering. I did get through ~3000 during the day (I took some Vorsk ones I'd already bought from Amazon, they were fine). Tracers proved damned useful in the dim lighting for getting the hop and sights sorted out (or allowing you to still hit stuff even when they're not!), and when Carlos dimmed the lights further in the late afternoon, those green streaks of light sure looked purdy I also took along my proven faves - the VFC HK416 GBBR (every shot remains a joyful experience), which I used until I exhausted my gas can. And of course the DE M906C Old Faithful (which in comparison to the other gats really showed it shoots like a frickin' laser beam - especially impressive with the tracers). Shame the thing currently screeches like a cat being run over by a steamroller, even after my attempts at adjusting the motor height. No wonder the motor got a little toasty again. I need Luke to fix it up for me. The HPA experience means I'm really quite likely to buy an Airtac adapter for my '416 now... the realistic gas mag changes are fun, but my 'speedloader' didn't exactly live up to its name (it's getting very graunchy), and with only 3 working mags I wasn't quite on it. I think the adapter plus a bunch of (relatively dirt-cheap) mid-caps instead will be a decent compromise. All in all a very good day -
The number of times a queue of people would end up in a tiny room dead-end trying to get into the spawn area (me included).... 😂😂😂
