another vote for getting a chrono, unless your not in the UK the spring your put in is likely over limits if your air seal is good.

Look for some foam. Furniture restoration places usually have a variety of off cuts which would big enough.

If you have the money the warhead should be one to consider but if funds are more limited then I'd atick to the ifrit motors, they are usually solid performers.

concretesnail got a reaction from Tactical Pith Helmet in Hard Case Help
I have one of the nuprol cases, it's not bad but it's no peli or hardigg case. I have the wave foam padding in mine and it carries my tr16 308 easily along with a pistol and the approriate mags. If i took the mags out or cut a section out for mags then a second rif would fit too. And the wheels help with the weight but they don't work too well on gravely surfaces.

Lowa, altberg, etc. Salomon too. I'd start with a good outdoor retailer and go from there as best bet is to try a few types on, see what fits well.
Everybody has different shape feet and feet change shape as the day goes on so try to do your trying for fit in the afternoon.

concretesnail got a reaction from Tactical Pith Helmet in Pressure Switch for Light/Laser question
Those connections aren't specifically for one type of torch but for a pair of units. For example, peq and a white light independently running.
Wadsn switch so you should be able to get the appropriate lights and lasers from them too.

concretesnail got a reaction from Rogerborg in Cmf-16k gear box won’t come out of shell
the ambi bolt catch often has to come out if the shell with the gear box, i know mine does. make sure you have everything else off and out, including pin on the side paddle and the bolt release on the cover side the lift the gearbox up and out and the paddle should lift with it.

concretesnail got a reaction from leadly in Anyone done a Battle Sim at Anzio?
I've done the battle sim days at anzio.
The jist of the day is that once the brief safety brief is done then the scenario which the objectives are based around is given and then objectives through out the day are posted via a teams HQ, although it's not always the respawn points as these are often located elsewhere, and as such can be used as objectives/taken and held etc.
In terms of the day. Once it starts it doesn't stop for breaks or lunch, so it's up to you to eat/drink in the game area or return to the safe zone. I've found it a better day when teams have taken breaks in the field and have a drink/take break within the game area, so are never out of play but obviously that's down to the players on the day.
I've played those days as both dmr and aggressive bolt action support (snipe but not Bush wookie) as well as assault/cqb and it works well either way for me bt I would say to wear a watch or have the ability to know the time with you. Objectives are often time based, eg your have x time until x happens or to capture a point. Which I felt was a great idea to stop things getting too stick if one team players decide to take an hour off for lunch.

concretesnail got a reaction from Shamal in Motor wont connect.
If you have a multi meter I'd check the wiring loom on the motor as well as the physical connection tabs. It could be something as simple as you pinched a cable and broken the wire, or the spade isn't staying put when the grip gets closed up.
If all is fine until the base plate goes on then start at the base of the motor and connections and work your way up as the perun yellow code is for motor connection not gearbox jam, which is a blinking red light usually.

concretesnail reacted to The Waco Kid in Blind Firing.
Okay was there actually a safety issue? If the shooter could see his own barrel and where the bb’s were going I wouldn’t call that blind firing. Might be if his situational awareness was nonexistent.
Some places specifically brief no gangsta skills, some don’t.
There are plenty of Airsoft “marksmen” who set up where Dozens of players are bound to walk straight across them but are totally focused on the scope. You can shoot both eyes open it’s a telescopic sight, or have an actual spotter…
As to the unfair advantage, is it much different than him prone in a ditch firing from behind a tree stump so only 4 inches square visible? We’re hits on his gun not counted?
I know we think we should be able to shoot through bushes and it count but the reality is most cover in game fields won’t stop a real bullet. We have roddie bushes and thin pallet wood at most sites.
Anyway this is why I carry grenades 😉
Did Fireball Squadron weekender with just pyro once. Expensive but so much fun.
“Stop throw grenades at us, we don’t like it”
Just smile as you light the fuse.

Well done for carrying in with the day a fair few would have called it quits.
I know one of the site I play at says anyone using bolt actions or dmr fps limits has to be body up to the window of buildings, to try and limit the chances of things like this.

concretesnail reacted to Rogerborg in Airsoft Battery Advice
We had a good rant about that recently: it's an awful way of limiting motor / gear speed. If you're getting problems it's better to drop to 7.4V (or 9.9V LiFe) than to use an 11.1V that's trying to spin the motor fast, but can't keep up with the draw. That's only going to end badly for the battery.
tl;dr version - higher C is (nearly) always better.

concretesnail got a reaction from Werdna in Airsoft Battery Advice
Generally its fine but that's a loaded question. It would depend on the aeg in question. The lipo will only give what the system demands and in worst case scenario, die trying.
Some manufacturers think its okay to use the battery as the limiting factor and recommend batteries with low 'C' ratings so the battery suffer voltage drop and keep running rather than burning out poor quality components.
