Has anyone used a CNC H plate in their hop unit similar to what you can do with the MK23? I also have a Modify Tan hop which many people use on the MWS which I believe is 60-65 degree and that's a really good rubber so I've been told. Ahhhh ok that could explain why at 40m it was all over the place. Is the stock hop unit ok then?

I’ve come to the conclusion the stock hop rubber is utter pants. The consistency between each shot is like Dolly Parton jumping up and down on a trampoline. Time to swap it out for a Sniper Mechanics Pink Flamingo 50 degrees rubber. I also have a spare H-Plate which I bought for my MK23 but don’t need to install it in the 23. Am I right in assuming it will work with the AAP’s stock hop unit?

It was the mounts I saw which made me assume the optics were real . It’s a lovely build! Period.

You gotta love RS steel optics.... the rest of the RIF ain't too bad either I'm rolling with a UNITY Fast most at the moment. I'm actually finding it better than the 1/3 co-witness. Target acquisition is so much faster too which is a bonus, although it takes a little time getting used to your new head position.

The WE EU17/18 mags I believe work. Patrol base have them for £40. You just need to confirm the gas router is the non MOS one flat not curved. Unfortunately I don’t have any HPA gear so wouldn’t know how to tap the darn thing. Roll on YouTube I guess. Is the tap modification to the drum mag permanent?

I figured out a holster solution too for the drum mag. A dump pouch ? Airsoftworld have the aap cnc hammer for £20. I’ll add a few other bits to the order once I figure out what extra I need. mind you they are out of stock on many items sadly. A rear rail for a rmr is probably a good idea but it will probably get shot out in cqb anyway so scrap that idea.

Especially if you only have one std mag in the first place ? Now to grab that AAP CNC hammer from Airsoftworld

Yup that's what I have... the Madbull Mk18, the PTS washer and a few shims are needed... When I mean shims it's the lay lax barrel shims.. Oh I had to add some washers on the bolts too... Nylon ones work fine..

Going back to the topic of the MWS green gas mod... Is there any specific length the gas tube should be cut off?

Interesting hop design that.. well for TM I mean... for some reason I was expecting a MWS type hop but I guess the AK mag well is a different form factor in that respect which warrantied a new design? Not that I know anything about AK hop units per se... lol. But only a 200mm barrel? How far is it from the end of the barrel?

You’re absolutely spot on there…. I’m sure it’s gonna be epic out of the box too and probably straight forward to ‘enhance’ if needed. I’m waiting for a mate of mine to get one as I’m curious to give it a go. Haha

This is an easy pass for me as I’ve never been a AK fan. Give me a gas MP5 any day of the week if that is TM ever make one.
