SSPKali got a reaction from Wild Weasel in THE TM MWS thread
Mine slid on fine with zero play, possibly the finest tollerences I have seen for a while! I added some good quality grease so I have a hope in hell of removing it at some point in the future.
You will love the rail covers, if you ordered from Brownells don't expect them to be with you before 2weeks after order, I think Customs / ParcelFarce are a bit busy!

MWS is done.
Shimmed the trigger box. If anyone finds shimming a V2 gear box just too easy and not enough steps or repeated stripping and rebuilding I can recommend shimming a MWS trigger box 🤪
Some 4mm x 8mm 0.1mm and 6mm x12mm 0.1mm shims for the sear, trigger and hammer pivots. Top tip is don't shim the sears too much as that will stop the trigger resetting...I am still not sure why but there we go. Minimal binding and wind-up on the pull and a snappy reset. Only took 2hrs!
Fitted some BCM M-Lok rail covers to the Hao Mk16 rail and happy with the slim but grippy feel.
Now to wait for Strikeforce CQB or UCAP Vendetta to re open and give it an outing!

Either Delta Mike snood with steel mesh in for outdoor / milsim (plus I can run this with my ear protection / comms
Or
Dye I4 face mask, first thing I bought when I started playing. Never fogged and saved me £thousands in dental work!

No flare and low enough to be below the optic. Only issue is backsplash from the 1200lm!
There is a lens holder on it and I have red, blue and green filters to cut down the glare (and protect the lens of the light!)
I just need some dark CQB games to see which works best for dazzling the target and IDing them quickly

I caved and bought a Maxx model hop for my little M4. Lockdown has been brutal to my wallet!

SSPKali reacted to Zarrin in Bucking - What's the Deal?
It's actually less complicated than that... it's all down to the softness rating - i'm not sure why it's labeled in degrees; there is no physical angle to consider.
The lower the degrees rating, the softer the rubber, you would choose your rating based on the approximate power output of your gun.
- 50 degree: 280-360 FPS
- 60 degree: 295-390 FPS
- 70 degree: 360-460 FPS
- 75 degree: 425-490 FPS
- 80 degree: 490 FPS +
these are the maple leaf ratings but they are pretty universal tbh.

Most likely the Brocock TAC system, they were banned quite a while ago as easily converted to fire live ammo

Only place I've been to that actually stayed to the forecast was copehill down... having said that it was a scorcher and couldn't sleep because our FOB was a tin bloody barn in a compound, would have been better sleeping in a bush instead of sweating my bollocks off in that building

SSPKali got a reaction from Lozart in Visionking Scope Diy Ring Throw Arm
I managed to gather all the parts needed and have made a Mk1 threaded throw lever for the Visionking short dot scope (LPVO in oPeRaToR SpEaK 😁)
Parts list:
1x M3 x 30mm socket hex head screw (could use 25mm for lower over all length)
1x 6mm aluminium tube (B&Q)
1x Electrical tape (to make alu tube a snug fit around the screw shaft)
1x Adhesive heat shrink tube, 10mm dia.
2x 4mm x 1mm o-ring (can be used to fine tune length, too long and it will bind when twisted towards 5 power)

I have only done 2 MILSIMs (thank COVID19!) so far and both were with BRITAC at Copehill Down. The game ran 11am to 11pm then restarted at 0800 on Sunday, so not a major hardcore "out on the ground for 36hrs" but testing enough for your average airsofter and a good intro.
I have played both TaskForce and OpFor, both times having a great experience, no one was an ass and even though my ATACS-FG chest rig wasn't "SF legit" or my AK had fancy rails on it no one cared or commented. Read and understand the rules, prep your kit and come prepared to play hard and immerse yourself in it.
Playing OpFor is fun and you get some great taskings messing with TF guys (foam bricks being thrown by 'civilians' anyone?!) and while it was more flexible there were still things to do like capture TF guys, meet informants and defend positions. The only expectation was to give it a go and not be "that guy".
TBH I have seen enough "serious" guys losing their 💩 at walk on days for stupid reasons, at the MILSIMs the closest anyone came was the group of guys next to me pushing off before 5pm on the first day even though they had been bragging about using their NODs that night 🤣
I would look at upcoming events, research past ones (Youtube vids, blog write ups, but beware of agendas / grievances / bunched panties) and give one a go!

I've just got my vision king and wish there was a lever. Will be very interested in your results!

SSPKali got a reaction from Lozart in Visionking Scope Diy Ring Throw Arm
Well it came out and went back in ok!
I turned the power ring to 1.5 (so not at the hard stop) and backed out the screw. It is 11.5mm long threaded section and a tiny o-ring to keep out the elements. The thread is in the ring you turn, rather than in anything internal that could cause issues!
I would NOT risk turning the ring without this bolt in. Something would go *sprang* and your scope will stop working (that is my best guess!)
I have some material on order to make a threaded throw lever, more info and pics as I make progress!

I see no reason why not.
In fact, let us know how you get on, I'd be interested in a couple if they're cheap enough!

Brit tac events run some that are a little more relaxed. They usually manage 2 events at copehill down a year.
Well run, you get the odd Geardo but it's a great weekend.
Also theres some half decent hotels nearby if you fancy milsimming as the raf.

A little covid DIY project for those who don't like rubber magpuls and want something more like these for your MWS stanag mags.
You need: 3mm kydex, M3x10mm countersunk screws, saw / knife, heat gun, drill with 3mm - 5mm drills and countersink
Cut the kydex into squares (I made mine 58x58mm) either using a saw or simply scoring it multiple times with a knife and snapping it Drill and countersink two holes along the center to match the screws on the base of the magazine. As the screws go into the mag at an angle it helps if you angle the countersink a bit too (as is done on the standard base plate) Unscrew the standard base plate but keep pressure on it, slide the kydex square over it, and secure both with the new longer M3 screws Heat the kydex square slowly with a heat gun, shielding the mag as much as possible (my mags all still seal afterwards... but this is is definitely not great for them) While hot, quickly tighten the screws a little more to help pull the kydex into the tabs on the base plate, then bend over the flaps. I got the tightest bend by pressing all three sides in with some wood scraps for about a minute, before then letting it cool completely with the main sides pressed in a vice... its a bit tricky to get a sharp 90 degree bend into 3mm kydex, but you can always re-heat if you're not happy with the first result Once cooled, unscrew and slide off the kydex again (keep pressure on the base plate and re-secure it with a screw...) to drill the hole for the gas fill valve. I tried drilling this hole at the start, but because the kydex warps when you heat and bend it I found it tricky to get the location right You end up with a nice 3mm ledge on the back and front of the mag which helps to get a grip on it, and the kydex adds some extra drop protection too. Not sure what the extra strain will do to the screws in the long term, but I don't imagine its that bad.
Enjoy!

SSPKali reacted to GeorgePlaysAirsoft in Molle Pouch for Alphatex Grenade?
a 40mm pouch should be fine. I use WAS ones for my dynatec impacts (50mm not 44mm) and whilst they are shorter then the alphatec (105 not 125) the pouch has more then enough room on the vertical plane to accommodate a taller grenade.
