  1. This almost generic ICS sports line number from @HuttArmouries to replace my other nearly generic CAA M4. Feels great, will still be a while before I can get it out to a skirmish. and now I have a replacement I can take the other one apart and "learn" if I am capable of fixing or I just post a bag of bits to an actual tech ?
  2. *Insert Chris Hemsworth "this" gif* I have decided that with my new/replacement plastic slinger, I can justify a telescopic sight....the gun cost more so I can spend more on attachments, as you say, the rabbit whole goes deep. Got it down to a choice of two .... and then I got an actual tap measure next to said gun .. ? On the social media side of things, I post here more than I do FB but on the plus side I saw a post similar to this, a mental health check in and was reminded to get my pills. So thank you for the check in. Still buying the scope though....
  3. "in my day...." *Insert old man vibes here* This is a flippant comment due to starting work 10 minutes ago, however to the point Any day where you go Airsofting and think - worth it, or tinker and get things 'just right', buy any kit or *that* piece of kit, new gun day, first day you bring your mate along, hell even good toy cleaning day is part of the golden age.
  4. Used to, key point. Easier to manage eye pro always on than mag in/out. As for young kids, going to site, how young is the site letting play and how are their adults not being very clear on this one? But yes, safety brief in safe zone, and the long game brief if needed, game brief/recap in game zone.
  5. You could almost (almost) place a value hold or value add on the provenance of these things as rare as they seem. As a (still) relative newbie, my armoury has not seen the volume of weapons some of you folks have but I can say worst: the spring shotgun - (an asg stockless number) my gods what was I thinking. Oh yeah, 'shotguns are cool' and yes they are, the gas on that is on the buy list will be sweet as and have all the range, power and fun that this did not, not for actual games... Which brings me to Favourite: we f226, yes it is my first pistol, so, yes, I am still in that 'this is so much fun!' phase. But in my last couple of up close and personal situations it has been effective and yes, so much fun. It shoots as far as I need it to and works in the cold. Give it some years and I may revive this thread with 'best' or an edit....
  6. That is, wow, sure brand new from a shop it might come to that but, damn. I want what they are taking
  7. There is this one....https://airsoft-forums.uk/forum/126-other-events-and-meets/ which sees some use. I normally post up when and where I'll be as my actual game availability is very limited. But that's hospitality for you. There is also the "how was your Airsoft day?" Thread which can be a laugh to read and mark up sites as "to visit"
  8. Put Warzone (near Coventry) on your list as well. Not a huge site but perfectly formed and lots of projects in the line. Another shout for the Gaol, Jamie runs a sweet site.
  9. I have exp with Chiselhurst, I have had two great days going solo. Team are welcoming and it's easy to hookup with other players in team to slot in. Games were good and challenging. Players being players sometimes they can be slow to get to where required. But that is a player issue.... Only questionable point is lack of plumbing so be sure to take plenty of water. Worth a look and easy for us on the public transport. Mayhem - the Abridge one, depending on how much kit you carry is only two miles (ish) from the nearest tube station. I walked there and got a can back.... If you are willing to spend a little (?) on trains there are a few in sites "walking" distance from some Hertfordshire towns, they are one the list Welcome to the hobby.
  10. How about this dreamer? Sure it is "new" but two tone....in exchange for a bolty...oh and extra gas for better bolty.... Madness
  11. Went to The Gaol, Oakham for a private game at the weekend, the ARABS FB crew. I understand why it was on my "must visit" list. If you get the opportunity, go, do a game day. The admin block makes a fine safezone didn't hear a single dry fire (again didn't expect to-private day). Safety brief was to the point, expansive and humourous, Justin's "my playground, my rules" were always safety and play based. Crono: in jules....my BB slinger apparently shit itself at some point and wouldn't work. Thankfully my brother brought his spare- other wise I would have been on pistol all day (more on that later) Games, were "fun" let me expand - the long game they play is very much you get better the more you play, but I guess that's the same everywhere. I did really like the maps with objectives and timings for everyone, that makes a new to site player feel real welcomed. Back to long game - the stretcher they use is bloody heavy! Like, let's not bother with this for the whole morning heavy. We did move it to a kill zone just in case the blues did think about it. Inside, well, it was my first real cqb site and I have maybe played too many horror games ? all good fun, except g block, fuck that. But seriously amazing site, very well marshaled AND A MEATBALL ROLL FOR LUNCH! Best included grub at an Airsoft site ever. There were times I did in fact just run around with a pistol. For no other reason than I wanted to (long rifle was other option...) and I loved it. The new rig is great (arkus para style) and I didn't loose a mag for the 226, I did drop one right at the end of the day....new feed lips required. Over all a stunning day with the drive back being filled with nothing but smiles and a cheeky harvester for dinner. As we left my brother (who drove up from Portsmouth) was doing the maths on how early he would need to get up for the next trip up ?. Would 100% go again given half a chance.
  12. £5 strap replacement kit from blacks.... It's one of the least glamorous on this thread but I now have a thigh strap that fits an adult on my dpm holster....
  13. Continuing my trend of reviving threads.... Top service with double checking the postal address (as different from billing) quickly sent out and the only place to have f226 mags for under £25. So back up to three mags until I loose another one
  14. This is a random case I found at work for one of those fold out ads.... Foam is out of someones front garden..... Can't decide if this is peak thrift or maximum poors trying to Airsoft .. He'll, it works and I like it that will do.
  15. Another mag, to replace the lost one and some actual silicone grease for a leaky mag that has taken new o'rings and new valve and still hissing...FML....
  16. So, happy new year and all that bs I am lucky to be playing at the Gaol at the end of the month and find I also have the Sunday free....so, Between the Gaol and London who can recommend a site? +Woodland/urban +Not cqb heavy +Not warzone (it would be my go to but the game is Saturday that weekend ?) And go... Shortlist so far is mwa and rift coms 3- should I just toss a coin or are there other sites I need to consider?
  17. Warzone near Coventry do a Saturday skirmish game once a month I think. Next one is the 28 Jan... Also Holy tread revel Batman Did you get out anywhere @C-Diddy
  18. A 'technical' building brick mp5... A building brick ghost (star wars rebels) and Slave 1..... I did show here the cyma ak and isc g33 but no joy this time, still happy with the haul as I am for yours @DaktariT
  19. Wait, that's a real number, it's not just a hypothesis?
  20. This is more than fair enough, and I am well aware of the issues that spring from it. Thank you for the poignant comments. As to badges, well I'd use an old reg that doesn't exist ( Cornwall rifles) anymore, or just not wear a badge. This would be for specific games or if a number of us were all at same site. It did sure feel great to be stomping through a site with a team in similar/unit kit. It was a larpsoft event, so on the Sunday morning when 4 (older) lads in full late 80's 2para kit with appropriate weaponry Inc support gunner, there were looks from PMC thinking they were going to get a harder day. My brother did order the wrong green beret...it was mentioned a number of times and he did look very sheepish for it... Anyway. @Tackle Hope you are having a better day, yesterday sounded like a rough one.
  21. Does it bring you joy? Will it bankrupt you? After my larp soft event I really wanted to start a full Pathfinder Para 2 load out - but the accompanying thought was "yeah, but how many times will you actually use it?" As such the whole loadout went to the dream list. But I have just been gifted a arktus para style chest rig and I found a dpm holster.....now I am looking at suitable maron berets..... It's ok, it's not just you
  22. Not even DPM, what's the point
  23. I bagged a pistol on here for a bargain, WE f226, 3 mags £60. If you are patient, I'm sure more bargains will appear, I had a blast using it for the first time, had my favourite kills of the weekend. Do ensure that you are happy with holster.... This sounds like justification of an addiction....let's ignore the fact that I am currently hunting down another pistol....
