The 'How Did Your Airsoft Day Go? Thread
Jaylordofwaargh replied to Skara's topic in General Discussion
You enjoyed the fort game enough! I knew Red Alert had wone them over when they started talking about what and how they would do differently (bringing table) next time round. -
Hpa G3. I will not be taking questions on this post.... Or a "blue edition" cyma mp5. I have heard only good things

First time up at RedAlert. I will be back, likely the bodies I that chauffeured me will be back before I am, which is rude. So a quick and dirty run down. Loved it. We did well and managed to get a great space in the safe zone, to be moved on saying there is a couple of parties, went to actual safe some to loose out on the last table. Fine, compressed kit and found a spot to stand in, passed by @Skullchewer and some of the Outcasts, nice to meet you. banter is very light hearted, even people asking for small favours or borrow X or y. The whole feel was very welcoming. safety brief, well it's a safety brief... they give good expectations as to turn time on games, but as always, it's herding cats. first game is fast and a great wake up, lemmings they called it. Fun. Touch the police van, sat in the middle of the town with very clear field of fire surrounding it! I'll say this for the town, it is a great set up, lots of smaller buildings couple of taller ones many hiding spots and many ways of getting shot. Good fun it did feel like the reds (us) were going to get steam rolled as the yellows did take a some great angles to get them in. turn it more fun but I did find the "incline" repetitive ?. back in and new game - move box from a - b catch is (and I really liked this) carriers are designated and can only change at spawn. Defended first, intense heavy constant fire. Loved it. Anyway theme of the day was fun. First aid response was great (my brother cut himself open on a knee slide, the second one that day). Great showing from all involved. do recommend, would have liked to explore the whole site, our day was very town centric but loved it. The paintball parties didn't interfere at all. oh, and the rolling storm the fort? Very fast game. Smiled all the way through even if I did manage to stick myself in from of a number of people, and I know it looked bad as the reaction was "that sharp intake of breath" rather than a bit of a giggle, and yes it feels like a bruised rib and yes I did move my toy gun out of the way and take the impact on my rig....it made sense at the time. -

Welcome, welcome, lots to read on here for newbies. Know where your local sites are yet? -
Pics or didn't happen.... ? This is not really a question is it? I mean folding or no stock is the only way this thing of beauty. Lucky man. Dare I ask what you paid for it?

The trick as always is convincing the retailer that they do in fact offer said warranty. It is a very specific as to what is user error and a very short list of manufacturing issue.... (I think I have read here that SoCom are not useless when it comes to warranty/gun issues) -
Thank you for giving your take on the weekend. Gangster city was an immersion that I had been keeping an eye on, to hear they have gone the way of ai500 as to customer relations sucks a fair bit. The point counting on the Star....not really surprised at that level of thick being in the hobby. As to the rest, I'll have a think
 -
The site, not so much. It was gangster @ the prison rather than a ucap event. See this link for first hand. https://instagram.com/stories/dw_941/3092361399665429716?utm_source=ig_story_item_share&igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY= there are indeed others on a certain people in a well known FB group that sit both sides of the wtaf/it's just fun

there are many great threads on here for those seeking the depths of knowledge required to sling some plastic. This one is well worth looking at. Welcome. Where do you have local to you?
 -
@Crazy_Crystal here you go, second half I believe. In fairness I would absolutely rock that as a dmr just for shits and giggles and for the dilligaf nature.
 -
Have a look at @Skullchewer's recent post in "how did your day go" and there is one of these in there. for Filmsim sure, respect that, add to emersion and all that. for a skirmish game/day..... slightly different vibe
 -
I love spring shoties. I'd be well up for that But why? Ok sure it ticks the "fun" box, but range and accuracy are somewhat, lacking. Maybe it's due to mine being an entry level number ...
 -
Wait sites do this? Like, really? Where abouts so I can have a read of the full rules list - I could do with a laugh
 -
A lot of "what's on offer" will depend on whether you have a fixed idea of what you want, platform wise. Long barreled M4/ar15 types are very common (partially due to upgrade options), the G3 is a beautiful platform to build on, the G36k is also worth looking at for dmr duties. I have recently seen a mp5 acting as a dmr.... So it really does depend on what you want. But consider, a nugget of wisdom I garnered from hanging around here, a finely tuned AEG (sub 1.14J) will give you full auto and no med...

Any chance there is a "map" or set of line drawings a new to site could get there hands on before the day? It beats the not having a scooby during game briefs. -
Like maybe, occasionally playing south of the bale strip.....
 -
I like that you find Warzone worth the journey! Good site that one. Welcome to the madness

One of the larpsoft groups I'm in has a "tech" that refuses to touch Ares guns. Ever.

The above folks are spot on here. Make sure you have enough water, BBS and maybe snacks, some where to put your bombs/smokes/bangs and your good. If you do want to add more 'stuff' - do it for the right reasons 1. It's useful OR 2. It's larp kit. Boots look good, you've taken care of your knees and spent the money where needed (eyepro - and a more thorough review of the goggles would be nice ?). Don't spend more on kit, when you want to, add that cash to a game day or pyro fund....and get more games in. You will soon realise if you are really missing anything from the kit. Ps is that Red1 Chiselhurst? I have a relatively minimal load out and this still scares me ? -

Think this one just comes down to (very) poor information doesn't it? Or am I missing the 'bolt' for the spring charge? It's similar to another ak ad on there at the moment, £140 odd for a cyma with a few mags - now if it was the high speed version, bargain, let's talk. But the very fact it's not listed as that means it looks like they are just trying to recoup some cash. -

One thing you wish you knew coming into airsoft?
Jaylordofwaargh replied to ODST's topic in General Discussion
Famous last words ... And yes a lot of my kit is 'real', there are definitely waves of quality... The 58' gear I have feels better than the couple of pouches I have from the desert/ mtp era gear. Yeah....I have found the really low view count reviews are more honest with actual use, so a couple of whole game days before commenting. Car boots for those that live outside of the big smoke.... Another excellent source of kit.
