  1. I get enough of that from work! It's a broken camera and it's on the replace once pew is working, maybe.... "Did you put the Tappet plate spring back properly?" Yes...? ...but I am now also going to track down your V2 adventure thread. The trickiest part of getting my box back together was not have the tappet plate slip up on to the gear so it could actually close
  2. I'll hold up on the offerings, the fecker doesn't feed properly! So, is it a case of fiddling with the hop unit to get it in the right place or is there more to it than that? I'm off to find threads about this very subject now.....
  3. Ok. So. Looking for suitable offerings for the Machine Spirit of my 1st gun. It came apart, each piece looks as it should (minor) wear as expected. I (finally) test the motor separately...and it spins.... I put it all together again, not as much cussing as I thought there would be And it cycles....I can hear each part...work. Hardest part of reassembly was getting the hop unit to align and get the upper back on, well, and getting the wires into the upper/handguard Only thing to check is feeding and once I get a crono power out put. So offerings, what's suitable
  4. Going to give this a go and get some items into a basket with ak2m4's shop (not tagged as website is not taking orders for a few more days)
  5. So, maybe I should have actually checked this... *insert Acme "clang"* Ok so, first off thank you all for the hints and tips so far! Next, my Google history is going to be "where does this spring go" "If it came out, does it need to go back in?" "How different can trigger units be?" So inside the box I have Nothing that fits this description.... What I do have is a couple of bits I need to find homes for. 1. A good solid air seal 2. Greased gears that turn (each in turn, as I would expect gears to turn) 3. Clear, consistent colour on contacts... 4. A growing certainty that I just needed a new motor 5. An excellent Opportunity to learn how to put a gear box back together! Going to find some trigger diagrams, back soon....
  6. Right, so the motor is completely blank - no mention anywhere of torque, or power or speed or branding. The joining gear, has wear but not mangled...might be usable. Next up then is the gear box disassembly to have a look at the trigger contacts and the gears them selves. Before I do this, is the reversal latch a likely cause or is it more likely the trigger contacts (for now) as the mother doesn't even spin? It may be tonight of it may be later in the week this happens
  7. Not a lot was happening when trigger was pulled, not convinced the motor is cycling, there is no noise from motor. So either the motor is dead or the contacts have gone on the trigger. But it is a good chance to get my hands inside and learning this so I can build confidence on the next one. I mean the worst that can happen is I take a box of bits to Wolf Armouries and smile sweetly. For ref re kings arms, this gun was bought as a CAA asg M4 for £75.... So I didn't expect a half decent gearbox to be holding it together. I can also find the budget for replacement parts easily enough.
  8. Thanks for that one gents, grip is now off. The box it's self slid out as if lubed. Cool story time: my gear box is stamped with "KINGS ARMS" My reading time tonight will be dedicated to threads and videos with titles such as - "So your aeg is broken, how to check each part" "Is my gearbox worth the scrap price" "Where does this spring go" (yes I have been paying attention to where they all come from) And why does this rattle? And finally kings arms, are they any good?
  9. But how many tea breaks did you have? I'm still salty about that one time I went in the rain, a good gameplay with far too much break time and not enough shooting time....
  10. So, this thread will chronicle all the dumb ass mistakes I make whilst trying to repair my "currently not working" bb slinger. Still in take down and take apart phase and would you believe it, I'm stuck! I have removed all bolts, nuts and other connections I can find but the gear box is just not moving from its shell! Any hints tips and ideas appreciated, I figure it must be related to the fire selector as it seems to be the only moving part on the system at the moment. So, moving on, I found the next screw! Here of all places
  11. Experience of this, you have? This would be interesting to hear comparables.
  12. So I have a how it started Vs how is it going post. I recently picked up a sportsline is (thanks @HuttArmouries) so, being a shiny new toy I loaded it up with attachments and took it to a game. Crono was, disappointing coming in lower than expected. No drama I thought and for tacticool reasons I left them on for the first game. Soon discovered that is a lot of extra weight! So at the first break it all comes off in exchange for the hand rail irons. And I folded the stock... But all is good, once I have figured out how my nonworking on comes apart (well, finding a small enough hex key) get it back together and working, this one will also come apart and I shall "trouble shoot" Had a lot of fun with it and I'm even considering taking the stock off all together
  13. Good for you, what platform did you go for in the end?
  14. Often find that on any given day there is about 30/40 mins missed gameplay for either late starts, slow bomb up, lethargy after lunch and general dicking about. But yes, it does always seem to be slow start and prompt finish.... I guess there is the extra bs that sites need to do after we leave for the day. Glad you had a fun day, those are the ones to be cherished.
  15. Other than tacticoolness? The extra materials used will (let's pretend) be an additional cost. As to the longer barrel improving range and accuracy....that's a physics question I'm not qualified for but if you have a good look around here you you are likely to find a couple of threads that answer this question
  16. How to use a search function on a forum..... may or may not be a place to start.... Instantaneous joint mock posting! With @Smiling-Dutchman
  17. Do you really mean only 70ft accuracy, or is this a mistype?
  18. You enjoyed the fort game enough! I knew Red Alert had wone them over when they started talking about what and how they would do differently (bringing table) next time round.
  19. Hpa G3. I will not be taking questions on this post.... Or a "blue edition" cyma mp5. I have heard only good things
  20. First time up at RedAlert. I will be back, likely the bodies I that chauffeured me will be back before I am, which is rude. So a quick and dirty run down. Loved it. We did well and managed to get a great space in the safe zone, to be moved on saying there is a couple of parties, went to actual safe some to loose out on the last table. Fine, compressed kit and found a spot to stand in, passed by @Skullchewer and some of the Outcasts, nice to meet you. banter is very light hearted, even people asking for small favours or borrow X or y. The whole feel was very welcoming. safety brief, well it's a safety brief... they give good expectations as to turn time on games, but as always, it's herding cats. first game is fast and a great wake up, lemmings they called it. Fun. Touch the police van, sat in the middle of the town with very clear field of fire surrounding it! I'll say this for the town, it is a great set up, lots of smaller buildings couple of taller ones many hiding spots and many ways of getting shot. Good fun it did feel like the reds (us) were going to get steam rolled as the yellows did take a some great angles to get them in. turn it more fun but I did find the "incline" repetitive 😂. back in and new game - move box from a - b catch is (and I really liked this) carriers are designated and can only change at spawn. Defended first, intense heavy constant fire. Loved it. Anyway theme of the day was fun. First aid response was great (my brother cut himself open on a knee slide, the second one that day). Great showing from all involved. do recommend, would have liked to explore the whole site, our day was very town centric but loved it. The paintball parties didn't interfere at all. oh, and the rolling storm the fort? Very fast game. Smiled all the way through even if I did manage to stick myself in from of a number of people, and I know it looked bad as the reaction was "that sharp intake of breath" rather than a bit of a giggle, and yes it feels like a bruised rib and yes I did move my toy gun out of the way and take the impact on my rig....it made sense at the time.
  21. Can confirm I would have preferred a day off today!
  22. Welcome, welcome, lots to read on here for newbies. Know where your local sites are yet?
  23. Pics or didn't happen.... 😉 This is not really a question is it? I mean folding or no stock is the only way this thing of beauty. Lucky man. Dare I ask what you paid for it?
  24. The trick as always is convincing the retailer that they do in fact offer said warranty. It is a very specific as to what is user error and a very short list of manufacturing issue.... (I think I have read here that SoCom are not useless when it comes to warranty/gun issues)
  25. Thank you for giving your take on the weekend. Gangster city was an immersion that I had been keeping an eye on, to hear they have gone the way of ai500 as to customer relations sucks a fair bit. The point counting on the Star....not really surprised at that level of thick being in the hobby. As to the rest, I'll have a think
