lukeB got a reaction from Davegolf in The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Had been considering a thermal scope for a while but ended up going for NV when an ex demo came up for sale.

Remove the screw from under the rail, a small section will come away, revealing some hex key screws in the bottom of the rail.

I tend to use whatever is in my primary to save messing about.
If you are within MED then any weight is going to be accurate for that 20-25 meters.

lukeB reacted to Rogerborg in Galaxy Mp5k
This is a review of the Galaxy MP5K as stock.
Pros:
It's super cheap.
Very light.
310fps out of the box.
Comes with a 200 round hi-cap, a usable NimH battery and a burn-your-house-down charger.
You can HK-slap it.
Very nearly as handy as a pistol, with very nearly a carbine's range.
Works well in CQB or as a sniper-secondary, if you've got the drop on your target.
Takes pretty much any generic MP5 magazine: high, mid or real cap.
The V3 gearbox is solid, and has no inherent issues.
Will hop 0.25g.
The full-auto ROF isn't too bad.
Cons:
The fire-selector is sloppy, and wants flipped to full them back to semi in order to click in.
Might just barely hop 0.28g, but don't bet on it.
The push-pull lever hop unit loves to slacken off, and needs tightening up, or cable tie the hop-arm to the barrel.
Very plastic, lots of ping in the spring, and creak-and-flex in the foregrip.
"Very-nearly" isn't the same as same as exactly. It's not quite a pistol, nor quite a carbine.
If you HK-slap, the HK-slap will break sooner rather than later. Just bin it and fit a decent long lipo down the tube.
The stock motor is very weak, and the delay between pulling the trigger and shooting the BB can be put on your calendar.
A long, lonnnnnnnnng trigger pull, which isn't trivial to sort out. In combination with the insipid motor, this means that you'll never win a CQB face-off.
Overall:
You can have a ton of fun with this very cheap, light toy gnu out of the box.
It can be upgraded, but the trigger pull and semi-auto response will remain problematic.
Lipo, mosfet and a decent long-shaft motor will sort most of the cons, except for the trigger response.
Should you though?:
At the price, sure. Loads of laughs for the money.

Lockdown has made for quite a few changes to the ole-loadouts. Here’s everything in their current form. Eotech will be changing to a much smaller RMR style sight on the AK.
AK - LCT base. M140 DSG build running 340fps at 35rps on a 7.4V lipo. Combat union AK hop was a pleasure to install and is the nicest Hop I’ve handled. Makarov is rocking a Maple leaf bucking and tensioner with a crazy jet barrel.
M4 - Specna base. M140 DSG Running 300fps at c.50rps on an 11.1V lipo. Jefftron Leviathan gives a 5rd burst instead on full auto as I’m not a total div, despite the Novristch SSP1 and Silver trim.
L85 - ICS. Stock internals, rewired to a Gate Nano hard.
M14 - Cyma base. Wooden stock. Semi auto locked and bang on 450fps with no hop applied. Gate Nano hard in the stock. Hawke scope is lovely and I would thoroughly recommend!

My wife found the invoice for my TM MK46...
She couldn't quite believe the cost for what as we all know is a bloody toy gun!
What followed was a very intense conversation, where I came clean about my entire collection's value including all my Crye gear etc.
Explaining why my combat trousers were north of £250 was also a fun subject! 😂
Long story short, we're still married and supports me with my crazy hobby!
I'm probably one of the few married blokes in the UK that has a wife that actually knows the real cost of airsoft and all the crap that goes along with it! 😁

Real milsim would be three days of harbouring up, 30 minutes contact and an afternoon cleaning weapons while the CQMS drinks tea.

A lot of retailers will make you wait 2+ weeks for the courier to investigate before giving you a refund.
Most won't refund until they have been compensated themselves.
