teching is something i do advocate learning, even nominally high end guns aren't always perfect out of the box and the ability to fix stuff yourself always proves to be a boon when say buying secondhand. nobody starts out good, best (indeed probably only) way to learn the ways of the tinkerer is to constantly fuck up until you get it right

it's cool, that other thread doesn't get much traffic often ends up hidden a couple pages back. tbh i've only ever had 2 optics get shot out and only one irreperably, was interesting playing out the day on irons lol. but each to their own, must admit that's some fine 3-d printing as the standards of these things go. -

iirc we have a thread for making stuff if you wanna go there specifically. that looks pretty good, and that's coming from someone who abhors lens protectors so much i refuse to use them on anything no matter how cheap or expensive the optic is. -

hey it's cool. this thread works both ways and you've been thoroughly vindicated. probably a limited market as you say but we got all sorts on here. -

kind of agree with that, nothing like being able to hold the thing in your hands and get that "ooh shiny" vibe to pull you over that hill of spending a lot of money to start up a hobby. i mean i'd been airsofting a good decade before i started buying gats online, up until that point it was impulse buys at the brick and mortar and secondhand. -
the issue with being seen is when someone sees a guy with a gun and decides to call the police just to be sure, especially given *most* airsoft guns don't look the part of hunting shotgun. when it's a real gun you're gonna have your papers with you and permission from the landowner to deal with any awkward questions. whilst the police seem to have a pretty good grasp of the whole concept of airsoft you might still get that one jobsworth. i've shot plenty on private land but always made sure nothing's visible.

Lozart's original guidance in the appraisals thread to the seller was for a £1400 rrp and 8-900 secondhand, seems the seller went for the lower end of that bracket. i assume someone with the cash and desire for such a thing probably has a good idea wether or not it's worth it (at least i'd hope anyone dropping that kind of cash on a rig has done some research) -

you can work around it depending on what kind of draw speed you want, just run the mag seperate and load the gun when you're gonna use it. of course this is just another reason why the mighty makarov with its infallable heel release is the greatest pistol ever made -

^be warned, soft fabric style holsters + thumb button mag release=click of doom + hours of searching for a dropped mag. -
i do like the nanoasr, means you can swap to one of the fancier units like the warfet later on if the feeling takes you.
-
yeah ab on it's own i've found aint the best for an ak, but if you've got precocking with it then it's ok.
-
Mosfet with precocking would be worthwhile if you use a lot of semi, otherwise i'd say go basic (ie no active braking) as ab can cause bad trigger lockups on v3's.

sensible move, no sense paying money to fix something that ain't broke. generally the nozzle is the one thing that can't really be improved that easy without a part replacement, especially the ones that don't have o-rings as standard. worth pulling everything except the gears from the box when checking, you also need to remember to try it with the box tightened up as what might be perfect with the box held together can lock up tight when you bolt everything together. sometimes these things happen, if i had a penny for every time i've taken a broken thing apart, found nothing whatsoever wrong with it, put it back together and it's worked again...... yeah that's weak magnets for ya, if the rate of fire is good enough don't need to replace it on that alone though. little tlc goes a long way, like i said worth checking the air seal first because otherwise you'll end up hauling a much stronger spring than the fps you're getting merits. plus it'll go miles to helping accuracy, and by extension effective range- the way to tell is shot-shot consistency being much lower than before.
-
might not be the mag itself, there might be a vsr style mag cutoff that's sticking maybe? like i say haven't been far enough into it to know what setup it's using.
-
that's, umm, that's definately something......
-
not sure i'd trust a 3d printed mag, too rough for the feedway.
-
afraid i can't really help there, it was a mates gun and only work i did to it was external (re-fitting the front post). i'm guessing it's a vsr type feeding mechanism but couldn't say for sure.

never played anywhere that had it stated as a rule, but it's how i've always done it. center of mass of what you see, makes sense if only for the purpose of maximized hit probability.
