I know your not mate, & I'm 100% in agreement on lightweight rigs, the lighter the better, in fact to that end I run so many options, wee man bags/belt platforms/bandoliers etc, even picked up a tiny tactical tailor fanny pack recently, just got to figure out how to get me fanny in it 😜

Spot on, I've had dozens of rigs (still got too many lol) but I came to realise the mle was probably the most versatile, the base rig was feather light but better made than the kit I actually wore when I served, & comfortable is an understatement, once wore one for 72ish hours straight, fully loaded plus at times with a full 120 litre bergan over the top, straps over straps so to speak, & I didn't have one ache or rub from it (bearing in mind that then I was about 46, & everything usually hurts lol) Literally bought a second to dye for my black loadouts, & whenever peeps ask about rig recommendations, this is what I proffer, but too often it's not gucci or trendy enough for the "operators" on here 😜(obviously don't mean the you Rob😁)

Agree with the man above, I've had a ksc G19 for 20+ years, first pistol I ever owned & still does what its supposed to, paid £65 new, talk about value for money. For what you'll get for it, I'd say sort the gas/fps issue & keep it, back up or loaner for when mates tag along, it'll be invaluable 👍

Blimey, where do I start, @Cr0-Magnon, my "burden", a lifetime of crap has left me with cumulative ptsd & the associated depression/anxiety that goes with, on the physical side there's a wrecked back from two serious rta's, both knees awaiting replacement thanks to serving in the infantry & years of ice hockey/rugby/boxing/running, add to that I've dealing with a growing prostate cancer since 2020, & even though I'm having treatment, no one can tell me if it's close to being beaten, which can be a daily mindfuck if you let it. BUT, & THIS IS A MASSIVE BUT TO EVERYONE HERE...... we have one life, for some it's incredibly short, for others it's painfully long, & for those in the middle it can be meh at times, But if there's stuff you love doing, then find a way to do it, for me it's anything from robocop style knee braces, back braces, & copious mounts of pharmaceuticals if required, jabs in the knees too if I can, what am I gonna do, fuck em up, that ships sailed lol. If I can't do what I enjoy whats the point, Airsoft, riding bikes & hopefully getting back out on the water on my yam super jet at some point in the future once the knees are sorted. In your position I'd be considering a fencing style mask with safety glasses underneath, & change your playing style to minimise the possibility of falls or knocks to the head, essentially slow the fuck down & embrace being a sneaky bastard, works for me, tortoise & the hare lol. On Thursday I lost a good friend, 77 years young, all his life he had numerous serious health problems, including a severe curvature of his spine & diverticulitis, later life prostate cancer, but he became an awesome teacher & scout leader, literally inspiring so many & often leading by example in sports etc. So don't let shit get you down, you'll figure out a way to overcome it if you really want to. @Fly Sias the extremely learned gentlemen above have pointed out, at that budget you'll not find anything worth having, your alternative is to look at the secondhand classifieds, here is very good & pretty busy, but even secondhand you may have to up your budget a bit to get something you like. The other issue is finding someone to sell to you, as I'm guessing you don't have any type of reasonable defence under the vcra rules, but that's not to say a seller might two-tone something, assuming your over 18 ?. We might be able to give you better advice with more information from you, such as what rifles your interested in, your location in the UK, & anything else of relevance ?

First pistol, don't mess about looking at stuff for upgrade potential , nor kit that's dirt cheap but notoriously unreliable, look at tm, my personal recommendation would be a hi-capa 4.3, but to be fair the 5.1 model has more of a 1911 look about it, but in all honesty, if you get in to your pistols & dabble in other brands, when you finally get a tm you'll ask yourself "why the hell didn't I do this in the first place" 😏 If you check the classifieds, for £130 you'll probably find one with 3 mags & a hard shell holster, which is a must if you don't want to lose mags. Only caveat to buying secondhand, look at the seller & their history, post count, post type & attitude ?, & feedback, if any seem "off", scroll on lol.

Seriously though guys, thanks for the advice so far, yeah I knew about ducati's issues back in the 80's/90's, chocolate head studs that didn't like riding from cold etc, they were definitely meant for owners with deeper pockets when it came to servicing but I'm told this particular engine became the "go to" lump in the millennium, & this model was detuned so actually less stress than the other models that shared the poweplant. But as well as getting as much positive info on the bike model, I'm approaching it the way I do when I'm buying a rif, studying the owner as much as what he's selling, in this case he's just got the latest incarnation of the multistrada, so as a brand he's had no major issues, plus he has a very well looked after HD bobber, & a classic Honda vf750, again well looked after 👍 As for what I'm considering, it's got new mot, no advisories, New back tyre, full Duke luggage & some other bits, all of which add up to quite a lot of £. & the biggest plus, I've got the missus backing 😳, never saw that coming lol.

Hey guys, been riding intermittently since I was 15, had all the jap brands in various shapes & sizes, but never paid much attention to the Italian stuff.......... Until now 🤔 I know there are many bikers on here, & a few of you ride Italian kit, today at a chance meeting I was offered an almost pristine 2003 Ducati multistrada 1000ds, 27k on the clock, for £2k. Yep, I've started to check out reviews, all of which seem positive at the mo, but I'm also pretty cynical when it comes to anyone who likes to flap their attention seeking chops on YouTube, so wondered if anybody here has experience with this model or its more recent siblings ? With the exception of the dodgy trigger, of which we don't know the issue ?, but you feel us easily remedied with a much prettier replacement, if internally its doing what it's supposed to, I'd leave it be for now & just make it look the bollox. It is TM after all 😉
