What have you just 3d printed (for airsoft)
Tackle replied to sp00n's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
That is very very nice, I'm impressed ? Think I'd like to see a slightly longer dmr/sniper variant ? -
seems like he's wants "us" to pay for all his upgrade costs, even if his choice of upgrades is dubious & probably unnecessary, & hopes the scarcity of type 56's will blind us to the fact. I'll pass ?

Nice, I was tempted by that one myself, then I realized I've already got at least 3-4 suppressors unused in my kit box lol......can't have enough kit ? -

same could be said for the L1A1, serious amount of interest, 2 companies (?) have made them, neither of which have been perfect, & neither what you would call cheap either, yet the limited production runs always sell out. bit like the old joke, **** made the toilet seat, but it took **** to actually put a hole in it ? Bout time TM stepped up & gave us the definitive recoil SLR. I've resisted TM recoils, mainly cos their nearly all AR platforms in an already overpopulated AR market, but an old skool 7.62 platform recoil, something long, slr, g3, m14, I'd be all over that like a tramp on chips lol. -

Disagree, someone posts a link to an alleged manufacturer considering bringing one out, the number of positive replies is usually massive, & it's been like that for almost as long as I've been playing, yet still no ones brought out a good one, & let's be honest, it's airsoft, internally everything is close to identical, it's just the cosmetic outsides that float our boat............TM need to take a hint & knock one out, it'd sell out. Def needs its own thread ? I loved it, I even briefly owned one, a nice argentine vigilante model, with tangent sights lol, don't know how far galtieri's lads thought they were gonna be hitting with them ?. never got near a 1911 though, maybe next time I hit the states I'll have a go ? -

The Browning is iconic, almost as legendary as the 1911, why has nobody else done a skirmishable copy ? -
out of interest, what does he charge ?
-
yep, & the shirt doesn't match the trousers, it looks very poor quality ?
-
Lol, well done pop you beat me to it, we don't often get a " two for one", apparently Harry Potter thinks that if he calls it cheap in his ad, we'll actually believe him ?

Lol, I saw it & immediately thought the same thing, even copied the URL but when I got here decided not to post it for fear of making myself look a dunce if its super rare or something ? by my reckoning, even with the extras, about £170ish at the most ?

actually I did mean the lenses, I've done it on a couple of pairs with no failures, the trick is to not have them too close together, not too big (2mm max), & pilot the holes first with a SHARP 1mm bit, in order to put no pressure on the lenses. Obviously the holes need to be at the very top of the lenses, not anywhere near the eye area itself. & obviously I'm not advocating anybody else do this, my choice,my risk, but I had tested this method on similar units that had suffered scratches in use, & then shot the shit out if them point blank with a slightly hot gun, with no failures. -

for example, only this week we've had yet another "what first gun to buy" thread, I'm not even bothering to read them if I see a title like that & I'll pretty much read everything (small print on bog rolls !), I'm not elitist or clickey when it comes to new members, but most of the current wave either wants to be spoon fed, or just wants the use of the classifieds to shift their tat, & always react badly to even mild criticism, even if its meant to be constructive. part of the reason I think the Mack thread is a good thing is that the more knowledgeable members will quickly spot & highlight the dubious threads, those that the owners claim have only been test fired in the garden but with closer inspection they look like they've been thrown from beachy head or driven over by a tank etc. if those kinda were to slip through through without comment, as they do on other forums, its likely that a noob whos desperate for a rif will buy them, take delivery of an unfixable money pit, the seller most likely disappears as quickly he signed up, & the buyer may possibly be deterred from staying in the game because of the whole experience, especially if PayPal doesn't support their claim when the seller points out its a "gun". without Macks or similar threads, what's the alternative, a post count limit before you can access the classifieds like on Arnies ?, that's just gonna turn people away from the forum. personally I'd rather see 10k honest community spirited quality members than 50k chancers & chavs spreading discord & negativity ?. if that means experienced players have to sometimes "police" the posts, even be a little bit salty with some if them, so be it, I'm sure the mods will reign it in if it goes to far or is not warranted.

I'm a big believer in the carrot rather than the stick, but lets be honest 99% of the ads that end up on this thread are either brand new members or not so new but have a very low post count, usually all sales posts, if they choose not to look at other areas of the forum, I reckon they're fair game when they post up overpriced or kit in dubious condition. as for sending pm's pointing out pricing errors etc, I've done it elsewhere plenty of times, always politely, the response is almost always arsey ?
-
dude, its not bitching, its a valid point on a dedicated thread, on probably the only forum that allows open & frank discussions, the rest are run by snowflakes who're afraid to out scammers or overpriced kit. you can choose to not visit here, that's your choice, especially if all you want to do is flog kit, overpriced or not. it gets a bit boring when members join just to sell, especially when they cry about threads like this, take the time to read the rules & discussions & you'll see there's no pettiness involved, just community spirited airsofters looking out for each other.

@DopeYourScope you bastard, here's me hating apocalypse, having been disappointed every time I've played there (5 times, last time bout 2 years ago), clearly they've been busy building there, now I'm torn about having another go ? GitGitGitGitGit?

Yeah, when a retailer literally says "sold as seen", doesn't exactly inspire confidence ? -
its an aep ? but yeah price is a smidge high.

Used to be a time when shop techs could attend manufacturers courses, although I think they were nothing more than one day affairs, in order that shops could claim manufacturer validation. being the cynical old bugger I am, I generally judge people by the quality of their work, not by the bits of paper on their walls, & I think this is true in most jobs, we've all had work colleagues who on paper match our own skill sets, but in reality do inferior (or superior?) work, so called airsoft techs are no different, hence the need for a thread naming (or shaming) those out there. a register sounds too official, & may give validation to those who don't deserve it ?
