It looks great (nOt a rEaL DMR CaLiBrE ThOuGh, BrO), but I'd want to know if it actually sling BBs, and if so, at what air-speed-velocity.

I bet he's off to form the Airsoft Players' Union of the United Kingdom. Thanks for cat-wrangling for so long, I can't imagine there will be a big queue of volunteers daft enough to be the someone in "Why someone oughta!"

I'd agree, as me. Although if I were a bitter, mediocre lawyer whiling away the hours until retirement at the CPS, I'd argue with firmly faked sincerity that if Parliament had meant the Highways Act to use the Firearms Act definition, then Parliament could and would have said so.

I'm going to do a trademark pivot and say that it's great that everyone can enjoy airsoft in different ways. If you're calling your hits, and having fun, it's a win for everyone. Although I wouldn't be astonished if it's full of folk who were who in the Cadets for a few months and now call everyone brother.

I expect all twenty of the blokes on the Iranian embassy balcony will be in it.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU Come on, Trading Standards, sort this out. A couple of test purchases, shut it down.

Dunno, I've long since stopped following UKAPU because it was more frustrating than useful. This is down to the foibles of the Facebook algorithm deciding that I only really want to see posts from low traffic, low engagement pages days or even weeks after they've been made, even though I had UKAPU set to "top of my feed". But that is an inherent issue with using Facebook as the primary means of communication - if you're an admin or active contributor, you'll be seeing a different feed from what I was getting. As far as I can see, there's been no public posts to the Facebook page for 6 months, the Twitter account last posted in 2019, and Instagram and the ukapu.org.uk website's latest news is from 2021. If it wasn't for your posts here, I'd assume that UKAPU was effectively defunct. None of this is meant as a criticism of you or the other volunteers. I appreciate anything that you're doing, I just have no way of knowing that you are doing anything at all.

Nerd stuff, related to my pretend-space-soldier costume. It's from a far future sci-fi setting predicated on absolute ideological zealotry, where the slightest digression from the approved narrative in deed or word or even suspected thought results in accusations of heresy and non-humanity. So, nothing at all like the kind, gentle, nuanced and balanced political debate of CURRENT_YEAR.

Absolute rule by the living corpse of a soul-consuming God-Emperor sat upon a golden throne. No debate needed, or indeed permitted.
-
I've joined and rejoined UKAPU over and over, but have never heard a squeak out of them, apart from seeing a very occasional self-congratulatory post on Facebook about some jolly their committee had, three weeks ago. Alternative narratives are doubtless available, and valid, but I can only speak to the truths of my lived experience.

I'm not entirely sure where our super-luxury personal indulgence toys fit into any 5 Year Plans. 🤔

Well, there goes my "Why you take footie so seriously, bro?" rant.
-
Er, why?
-
We love a good rant here, but I'm not getting enough outrage from that post.

Rogerborg replied to DRaZZ's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Oh, that looks interesting. -
And with no hop, making it a point blanker only. Yes, that's £40 of gun, plus a box that you'll likely leave it in once you find out how it performs. Being a fence is not a defence!

Ahoy and welcome back to the money pit.

And this absolute whanger, which is why I'm not blasé about "mid century history enthusiasts" with a very specific interest in lightning bolts and friendship windmills. I draw a distinction here between generic Wehrmacht or Rooshan, versus sporting ᛋᛋ or Z emblems. At an actual historic re-enactment event representing the totality of a conflict you can (but don't have to) make the "Well, someone has to do it" argument. At an airsoft skirmish, or even a milsim, that doesn't apply: it's always a conscious choice to go full fash. And the warning sign for me is not how long ago the events occurred, but whether the ideology behind them is still active now. And especially if it's still actively recruiting. If it is, then I'll always doubt the motives for choosing to display and promote it, regardless of any public protestations to the contrary.

Agreed, it's astonishing that the professional fun-sponges in Holyrood haven't noticed us enjoying ourselves and put a stop to our nonsense.
-
Agreed, I'm enjoying the fun while it lasts. I've also put a lid on buying more toys because I suspect that at some point they'll become a liability rather than an asset. One thing that we don't seem to do in the UK is buy-back schemes. When yet more things are criminalised, you're expected to destroy them, or hand them in to the police. So at that point, if you want to recoup some of what you've spent, the only way left to do that is to flog them to Bad Barry behind the Dog and Duck. Not, I think, the desired outcome.

The winning answer. And given that they could go and sign up to do it for real, it's really rather pitiable that their courage only extends to make-believe. That said... Name and praise the site?
-
That's certainly a thing that's possible to speculate and assert. However, is there an example we could examine, where a high rate of legally held and carried firearms is correlated with a high rate of illegally used firearms?
