  1. Welcome back. You won't know until you've shot it a bit, but I wouldn't be paying a generic "tech" to do generic tasks. Some specific individuals are good at some specific tasks, but you'll be paying £40+ an hour, so you'll to want to be sure that it's needed. Lithium batteries tend to survive well with some charge in them, so I wouldn't fret about them either, I'd just charge them in an Explosion Containment Pie Dish the first time and keep an eye (and a hand) on them. If you're in any doubts about getting through the day, a new battery wouldn't be a crazy expense. I'd bin any bio BBs that you have, magdump the .25g, and agree with going up to 0.28g if your hop can lift them. The spring might have weakened, it depends how compressed it was. There's only one way to find out. Airseal is what would concern me, and only to the extent of pulling the thing apart and putting a small squirt of silicone spray (or oil) into the nozzle and letting it soak into the piston o-rings for a while, then doing some bursts of auto fire until it's blowing entirely clear before re-assembling. Check the hop rubber for stiffening or cracking while you've got it apart. Maple Leaf rubbers (and Omega nubs, or the SHS equivalent) perform pretty well in most guns. https://ak2m4.co.uk would be our go-to recommendation for any parts that you need.
  2. I've taken pity on the chap and told him what he should actually be asking. I await the "I noew wut its wurth all day long m8".
  3. That package is £155 delivered, brand new, from various BBgnus sellers. What makes your example with worn sears and stoppers worth £100 more? Are the extra BBs actually pearls and rubies?
  4. From experience, the AA R17 mock-Glock is decent for the (very low) money. From observations, the R608 has (or had) one fragile part that doesn't stop it working. There's no airsoft brand that I've used that I would give an unqualified recommendation for, as... That's a realistic view. If I wanted to minimise surprises, I'd spring the little extra for a TM pistol, simple as. I've tried a TM G17 and the trigger is much crisper than my AA. But... they both sling BBs downrange. It's airsoft, everything is a daft waste of money.
  5. I'm fine with Army Armament as a brand, but I'd approach the R608 with a little caution. I've seen one with a snapped safety switch, and the owner claimed he'd heard it was a common issue (which you're now hearing about 3rd or 4th hand). It didn't effect the functionality of the gun though.
  6. Eh. If you can predict where someone will be in 1.25 seconds, then you can predict it for 1.3 seconds, at least in enough cases that it won't measurable alter your winr8. That's very different to playing Whack-a-Molle at 15 feet indoors. Running these two together for chuckles. Join usssss, accept the scope and bipod as your personal airsoft saviour.
  7. Heard on site: "Stop climbing that tree, you've been told." "It's OK, I'm a tree surgeon, I do this all week." "Well, it's Sunday, so down you come." Shouldn't have needed multiple warnings, of course.
  8. Do your local sites still look energies up on a chart, or do they set the chrono to the BB weight and look at the Joules figure?
  9. I'd say the exact opposite, for the very simple reason that if you're respecting your DMR MED then the extra few milliseconds are unlikely to matter, but if you're up close and personal, it can do. I love the handiness of my MP5K in CQB, but the trigger travel and semi-auto response left a lot to be desired.
  10. I've seen a few recorded instances of a lens detaching from the frame, but not a failure of the polycarb itself. Anything close to 2mm should shrug off airsoft energies, I'd be interested in hearing the circumstances of an exception. Oh, agreed, I'd never play in shooting glasses, even with a retention strap. Full seal, all the way, find a way to deal with the fogging.
  11. Yup, that's all them has posted. They're either top notch AI, or very peculiar human. Didn't even say hello. 😢
  12. Excellent news. Just to be clear, what matters is the temperature of the magazines (and what you're filling them from), not the gun itself. I keep mine in my pocketses in cold weather.
  13. On December 2nd 2023, the temperature in London ranged from -3C to 1C.
  14. Precocking improves semi-auto response. It leaves the spring compressed so it only needs to be pulled just the last part before releasing. Long term, this will weaken it (and perhaps stress the bushings/bearings) so you'll want to clear it at the end of the day / lunch / between games, depending how much you're bothered about a £10 part. One consideration is that if you're running a strong spring and a weak motor, you can encounter situations where the motor is too weedy to start pulling an already heavily compressed spring, and it locks up. It's not hugely likely, but I did experience it a few times before discovering the joys of half decent motors. It's nothing that you can't inflict on yourself without a pre-cock mosfet by releasing the trigger mid-cycle though.
  15. B is more than we need, F (and glasses can only be rated to F) is technically not enough, but have you ever seen any polycarbonate eyepro fail? Those will be fine for impacts, and the dual-pane is a good shout to avoid misting.
  16. Are you a fairly well programmed AI? 🤔 TEST: in a world where crunchy peanut butter exists, what reasons are there to buy smooth?
  17. Can I ask the purpose of this question? The cheapest airsoft chronos that you can buy at the moment allow you to store multiple BB weights, generally 6, and switch between them with the push of a button. You set the chrono to the weight that you're using, and you look at the Joules number. End of story. I can tell you what energy my guns run at on various BB weights, but have no idea what fps they're shooting at. Why would I need to know?
  18. "All guns to be crono'd on 0.2g BB's - this is non negotiable" Well, at least they're confident about being so utterly wrong.
  19. Hmm, those do look interesting. Shame they don't appear to support burst modes, even on the higher end models.
  20. Not many, no. Do Mayhem even allow snipers? They're rather cagey about their site rules. I do feel compelled to note that having long range, and long site lines, is ideal for snipers, but not so much for our targets. And I say this as a sometimes-sniper.
  21. Well, there's your trade off. Snipers and woodland go together like speedsofters and stripy socks. Do you want to snipe? Have you tried it yet? It's generally not the way it's carefully edited to appear on YouTube videos: hits are fewer and further between. And if you liked the constructions at Mayhem, you may love indoor CQB. No weather concerns, short walks to respawn, all action.
  22. First time visiting the friendzone? Emergency exits are located literally anywhere that any other girl is to be found, and use of them is highly recommended. ... the instant she sees him with some other girl.
