  1. Four or five mates meeting up on land belonging to one of them, when the business is locked shut, and keeping well away from any machinery etc is fine I am sure. Airsoft in 18 acres of meadows and orchards in the middle of an isolated fen is hardly likely to raise much concern for anyone I hope.
  2. In contrast.... a lad I sometimes play informal games with at a local scrapyard ordered from TG just before they stopped shipping to the UK. No UKARA number yet straight to his door, much to my surprise. No requests for paperwork, no problem at all. Silly situation.
  3. Can't beat a nice green tea with pomegranate and a well jellied pork pie with chilli relish; cold water pastry hard and almost shiny until you bite it in the summer. Failing that a beef and onion pie slathered in Colman's mustard and HP sauce. Quick two fingers of sloe gin in the winter and you've had the breakfast of champions. You'll be ready to take the world on.
  4. For about four decades I was dead on 10 stone fighting weight, then injury (and enforced inaction) and age (sob) caught up and I ballooned. A high protein low carb no sugar diet has me back to normal(ish). Tonight I started back on the heavy bag... I'll be back in black in a few weeks. I feel far better now now as it is. Thoroughly agree Rogerborg!
  5. Sounds more like an episode of that Japanese game show Endurance than airsoft.
  6. Very true. I like to run as support gunner. I use a 7.4V lipo and chug through BBs. The gearbox etc is well up to higher speeds/voltages; but I don't see the need to send a solid plastic hose at the other team. Two or three round bursts that hit solid cover with a loud smack are usually better at keeping peoples heads down than spraying a solid wall at where their faces may appear. Even if suppressing, you can keep things sensible, sporting and friendly. TBH I usually run my rifleman rifles with the 'fet set to single or double tap and spam the trigger a couple of times if a burst is needed. Kinder to the gearbox than semi and all you need 95% of the time.
  7. A full weekend of airsoft, Nam style.  Silly pyjamas, primitive weaponry, and up to your bollox in mud.  Great stuff.

Sank a few beers with mates and dragged an LSW around, much to the detriment of my back.  Hooray for Tramadol and gritted teeth.

Now back home clogging up the washing machine's filter with fern stems and mud, and drinking to another victory for Uncle Ho.

    Du ban yankee!  Vhe nha!

      Nice one, where was that?

I was so disappointed when a local site cancelled their Nam-film-sim. I had the rice hat and pyjamas all ready to go, specifically in order to annoy any "The NVA didn't wear those!" stitch counters. ;)

      Sounds like fun ?

That's what I like about nae.

You are out all day walkin',stalkin'?and talkin' bollocks an shootin' every leaf and branch that dares to move accompanied by shouts of "contact 12oclock!", and " cease fire he's on our side"and "wanker! It's the bloody wind!"

Oh how we laugh till our bellies ache which is fitting as it matches our aching legs and feet.

Then it's back to main arena for drinkipoos and a bit of nosebag and stories of how we each wiped out the entire oppfor single handed that were hiding behind the shivering leaves.

Oh man I so missed it last year ☹

Both of those replies are spot on!

Rice hat, preferably from a joke shop.

      Irate stitch counters.

Mud, water everywhere, with boots still drying out the following Thursday.

Wasting BBs and blue on blue all day.

Pissed and full of dodgy burgers.

      Can't beat it.

  8. I shouldn't think that mixing microdots and airsoft would work too well, especially the purple ohms. They mong you out like fuck.
  9. It was very much left handed screw driver type advice.
  10. You can buy them from pets shops for cleaning fish tanks. As said above, lack of pressure hinders them. When I rode bikes for a living, I often advised the new lads to wipe the inside of their visor with a raw onion.
  11. Went out with my serviced and cleaned AK, only to fall over a tree root 10 mins into the game. I was a pretty good gymnast in the mists of time, so controlling a fall is fairly easy, but... I managed to snag my free foot on something else too as I fell. THUD. Busted the rear sight, split the top housing in front of the (now displaced) dust cover, and the battery compartment bottom cracked. I hit the floor hard enough to dislodge a contact lens. I honestly thought that I'd broken my big (arthritic) toe, but it moved after a few minutes of laying still and therapeutically swearing. Rifle still fed OK and shot straight so on we went. Played OK too. First game damage I've inflicted on a CYMA. I doubt an all steel build would have been damaged, but I doubt I'd find one for less than £70 on TG. I'll have to get the gaffer tape and cable ties out I expect. If it's serious the Jubilee clips come out too, possibly the superglue. Bloody good day out mind!
  12. Had to clean the hop rubber in my CM.028u.  The lad got a bit liberal with the silicone oil...

Bloody palaver compared to an M4, managed to crack the housing round the tiny screw that holds the underside of the battery compartment/dust cover holder/slide.  Only needed a washer to make good, and probably could have got away without using one but still.

The wires are so damn short that the fuse holder sits under the cover too.  Couldn't be arsed to get the soldering iron out, and no thin wire sitting bout anyway.

    Not a lazy man's rifle.

Namsoft next weekend and the AKs have to be in prime nick.  Dụ má mày yankee!

yeah ak's can be fun to work with depending on how they're setup.

you get used to it though, whilst barrel access aint as good at least you don't have to have half the externals dissassembled just to get to the gearbox.

Very true, the pinned models are very handy to work with.  The CYMA uses cheaper screws, and for a sub £100 rifle its astounding.   Pays your money etc...

I think that they make a good base for custom builds too.

I do have a habit of shedding mags though; I think due to using a mag grip equipped M4 a lot more.  I must catch the release with my (gloved) thumb tip.

the jg's/cyma's in the ak world are good shooters, bit of tinkering and they'll deliver the goods no bother when it comes to the fundamental task of slinging plastic downrange.

generally with the likes of the lct's/e&l's what you're paying for is the exterior quality.

  13. Well...   fucking great day at Gunman Tuddenham.  Good gameplay, really aggressive play from the green team and some hard pushes from the banded team too.  Lots of BBs gone south.  Positive kill to death count.  New (to me) pew worked faultlessly.

Only thing was forgetting to take my pain killers at lunchtime.  I took them when I stopped play, but depressing the clutch pedal was agony all the way home.

Picked up my M14 from the on site gnu guru.  It now shoots supernaturally good.  Seriously, give Theatre 1 Airsoft a look.  As a former engineer, I cannot work the magic that Roman lays on what he plays with.  I now have the best beastiest airsoft rifle I have seen in my gun cabinet.

Thoroughly recommend this site, and this very special tech.

      Hi @Tactical Pith Helmet! ?

Glad you had a Great day of Airsofting, will look into this site?

Just remember medication for the pain! ??

  14. Jesus wept!

My thighs ache like fuck.  I can hardly keep my eyes open, and I feel fantastic.

Great day at Tuddenham with Gunman today.  Perhaps going for a long run yesterday to warm up was not such a good idea...

After lunch my painful back was feeling much better and my shoulders and neck were much looser.  Airsoft is great physio.  Hot shower and a walk of a couple of miles to warm down.

I'll do some bag work tomorrow, and a couple of rounds with the lad if he's not too tired after college.

      Yep, I can imagine.

I found myself not so much steadying myself against the trees but positively using them for support.

One of the reasons I love this so much is that you simply push yourself into physical action for so long.  I don't mind squash etc, but you'd never play that for four or five hours, let alone a full weekend!

that was me at the end!! although changed tappet spring out right near the end as had been getting stressed with the gun all day lol

haha totally was 6hrs total gameplay pretty much never use to push myself that hard skating lol

  15. For an gnu that rare, with that perfect Halford's Own paintjob, and, unless God allows my eyes to be deceived, set of wondrous extras; the chap obviously states collection only. I can only hope that Securicor or Group 4 are insured well enough to carry such an article. There's fuck all chance of anyone driving halfway across the country for it, that's for sure.
  16. So... having moaned about the barrel support on G&G M4s, I did the obvious thing and bought another one (thanks to Shooting Aces!).

I have fitted a very curvy sculpted grip and a similar sculpted magwell grip.  I really fancy a chunky round profile stock to complement them both and the big fat round forend.   Something shaped like a flat bottomed tick that doesn't alter the standard cheek weld would be favourite.

    Any ideas?

P.S. each pay day I'm buying stuff to fit to this.   So far I have a load of marked shims, new bushings, SHS 12:1 gears, hi-torque motor, Perun mosfet, 16AWG wiring, lightweight piston and new cylinder/nozzle, ZCI barrel and hop unit etc.

      Tactical Pith Helmet

      Yep.  Spot bargain rifle?

Proceed to chuck several of the externals and most of the internals away straight away for a tiny incremental benefit.

      Repeat...

  17. There are some interesting looking games in Poland. There is a weekender milsim that takes place in the Tatra mountains in winter that I fancied doing a while back. Get a couple of mates, do the game and pick up some pews on the return.
  18. Those police riot squad knee pads look daft but work very well. They can't fall down and allow you to run through sodden undergrowth without getting soaked. They do different leg lengths and can be painted (thankfully). I can see me sewing a few pairs of strides over the weekend mind, looking at the belt loop idea. Cheers!
  19. Oh dear. My beer goggles need a good clean...
  20. So many 'rare' items! A CYMA AK74 for full retail. I am too overwhelmed to go on.
  21. ZCI plastic rotary hop fitted to the G&G, grubscrews tightened, new stiffer spring on the hop unit.  Brilliant service and price from AK2M4.

    Rifle shoots bob on again.

No excuse for a new rifle now.

Pondering a new shell and building a 12 tooth V2 box with a hi-torque motor.  Easy enough to switch back to standard if I ever had to sell.

    Any recommendations gratefully received.

      Interesting question Skara!

I'd say bob on in this case is measured in the amount of frustration and swearing avoided by the lack of wandering barrel/hop setting.

About as scientific as as 'about right' I know, but I've an idea of how accurate it needs to be for a plastic flinger.

  22. UPS delivered one of my TG orders to a school. Different postcode and address, but my surname is similar to the name of the school. Cue much head scratching from staff who opened the parcel along with a myriad of others, only to find it full of quote, 'machine gun parts.' Helpfully they also lost one of the damn mags and damaged an inner barrel. A bit of thinking led me to call in and ask if they had it because I rec'd a text saying that it had been delivered. The only time in 20+ years that any mix up between the addresses has occurred. UPS also managed to leave a large order outside my neighbour's front door. Only spotted when I took the hound for a walk. Again the text told me to keep an eye out locally. If we don't tell TG just how awful UPS's service is, they will stick with them. On a similar note, I received two parcels from the US the other day, both free from any import charge, via RM. Both should have had charges attached. One I had ordered in October and reported lost. Wife's £400+ US order via RM had £150-ish slapped on it. The handling charges were ridiculous. Even RM is overwhelmed and making mistakes/missing things. Not surprising given the last minute nature of the duty announcements. UPS must be like a bloody madhouse.
