  1. Those police riot squad knee pads look daft but work very well. They can't fall down and allow you to run through sodden undergrowth without getting soaked. They do different leg lengths and can be painted (thankfully). I can see me sewing a few pairs of strides over the weekend mind, looking at the belt loop idea. Cheers!
  2. So many 'rare' items! A CYMA AK74 for full retail. I am too overwhelmed to go on.
  3. ZCI plastic rotary hop fitted to the G&G, grubscrews tightened, new stiffer spring on the hop unit.  Brilliant service and price from AK2M4.

    Rifle shoots bob on again.

No excuse for a new rifle now.

Pondering a new shell and building a 12 tooth V2 box with a hi-torque motor.  Easy enough to switch back to standard if I ever had to sell.

    Any recommendations gratefully received.

      Interesting question Skara!

I'd say bob on in this case is measured in the amount of frustration and swearing avoided by the lack of wandering barrel/hop setting.

About as scientific as as 'about right' I know, but I've an idea of how accurate it needs to be for a plastic flinger.

  4. UPS delivered one of my TG orders to a school. Different postcode and address, but my surname is similar to the name of the school. Cue much head scratching from staff who opened the parcel along with a myriad of others, only to find it full of quote, 'machine gun parts.' Helpfully they also lost one of the damn mags and damaged an inner barrel. A bit of thinking led me to call in and ask if they had it because I rec'd a text saying that it had been delivered. The only time in 20+ years that any mix up between the addresses has occurred. UPS also managed to leave a large order outside my neighbour's front door. Only spotted when I took the hound for a walk. Again the text told me to keep an eye out locally. If we don't tell TG just how awful UPS's service is, they will stick with them. On a similar note, I received two parcels from the US the other day, both free from any import charge, via RM. Both should have had charges attached. One I had ordered in October and reported lost. Wife's £400+ US order via RM had £150-ish slapped on it. The handling charges were ridiculous. Even RM is overwhelmed and making mistakes/missing things. Not surprising given the last minute nature of the duty announcements. UPS must be like a bloody madhouse.
  5. Getting fed up with the lack of accuracy with my G&G CM16.  FPS wise it's consistent.  The decent tightbore and bucking are fine, but the plastic build lets the barrel move.

The super low weight and ergonomics have made it my lazy go to for years, but frustration is setting in.  Shame as I really like the super reliability, fit, ease of maintenance and pointability.

Suppose a new M4 is on the cards.   What to get?

Isnt plumbing tape the airsoft trick for this people wrap it round the barrel and the hop for airseal. I had severe accuracy issues with my specna arms E11 a while ago, bought a zci hop unit, madbull tightbore and maple leaf bucking and nub, then i sent it off to The cage airsoft techs. They fixed it real good it shoots like a laser atm.

If you want a no frills M4 that just runs and runs, TM M4 CRW high cycle.

      A teammate has one and it's retarded 25 rps on a 7.4...

Factor in a zci hop unit with a maple leaf rubber to lift them heavies and you're golden.

Cheers fellows.  I'll try a new hop and tape it if it's still loose.

If I get no joy tinkering I'll have a gandar at the TM.

It was frustrating on Sunday to get hit by the lad shooting my el cheapo CYMA AK as my shots spanged around him at random.

Seriously, it was very slightly loose from the box, albeit years ago.  A wobbly receiver is never going to be the base for an accurate rifle.

  6. Last after the last Taiwangun order came through today. Ordered on the 15th late at night. Since I seem to lose an AK mag each filmsim weekender, I decided to get a few spares. Then I added a new 'fet for the G&G. Then I thought about a couple of spare 1911 mags. Then since i was ordering, I got some BBs....
  7. Tony Benn's stories about trying to specify the most efficient reactors when energy minister were well worth listening to. The civil service wanted Magnox, the arms industry wanted Magnox and Magnox is what we all got, and indeed still pay for. Fighting the civil service radicalised Benn. He went into politics a decidedly middle of the road kind of chap. The only state that uses Magnox now is North Korea. The last UK Magnox was only shut down in 2015. Lord only knows the extra cost over sixty years! As for the Thick of It, I remember it coming out all too well. After three decades of being involved in politics I was going for take the plunge working with one of the parties as a psephologist. My girlfriend saw In the Loop and went ballistic, claiming that everyone involved from Malcolm Tucker down was shagging each other. As for Brexit, I ordered my last TW shipment weeks ago. It weighed about as much as I do...
  8. I use a chest rig for some Namsoft games plus a water bottle on a strap. I use a cheap 8Fields plate carrier for CQB as my local site allows full auto, and a plate carrier is less 'ouchy'. Usually for skirmishes and militia roles in Filmsim/Milsim, I use a belt set up. Well padded hip belt, plus PLCE knockoff yolk. You only really need a bag of BBs, a speedloader, a few MKVs, a smoke or two, two mags of 150 rounds (ish) with one in the rifle, water, and a pistol holster which holds a spare mag. Leave the rest at your hard regen and stay light, fast and low. This is by far my favourite set-up. I have on my belt... 1 x fastmag, 1 x large pouch for pyro and a bag of BBs plus speedloader, 1 x plastic water bottle holder, 1 x holster, 1 x 40mm 3 section 40 Mike pouch (small of the back), one radio pouch, left PLCE chest level strap. My left breast pocket has a spare battery in a water tight bag. You don't need as much as you think to have fun and to play well.
  9. Playing tomorrow at Tuddenham. See people there. I expect we will be trying to fix rifles and loosing bits in our tatty white Connect van.
  10. I placed the order late on Easter Monday via Paypal. I don't expect them Thursday/Friday at the earliest. The order has been acknowledged though.
  11. I bought a pair in green. I expect that they will be expropriated by my son when he sees them though...
