  1. What is the actual size of the Gorka please?
  2. At about the seven minute mark, there is a short sequence of a Polish militia training with airsoft rifs. Cool airsoft mortars, MKVs, and poor hit taking at 7:49. Bit like a day at a local site.
  3. These are brilliant for festivals, camping and bloody power cuts. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162731868970 I will confess to taking mine to a 'milsim...'
  4. I have a cursed AK. It gets bent or dropped or looses a mag with tedious regularity. It always shoots though. Have you tried sacrificing the first born of an imperialist? It's been recommended by a friend.
  5. To be pedantic, 'custom' is short for customerized I think. It applied to work carried out by the (car or motorcycle) supplier, who, in the '50's, would have employed fully apprenticed and ticketed mechanics to carry out the work. That way you kept the warranty as the mechs would be qualified and employed by an accredited agent. I remember a writer on one of the 'custom' bike mags telling me that he cringed each time he wrote the word.
  6. You won't be laughing if she finds out how much that Surefire torch you just bought actually cost...
  7. Glad I stayed home for once. Rain in sheets and a huge wind. Loads of dead wood on the roads/my garden, some pretty substantial. Not a day for running in the woods.
  8. I'm lucky to live close to five sites. I only play at four of them. My favourite is the best marshalled. According to reports on here, the site that I don't like has improved immensely since I last went. I'll try it again. How the games are run matters. All sites can have off days, but imaginative management can make the dullest featured location fun, and of course vice versa. One thing I will say is that a well coordinated set of mates can clean up objectives against a massive opposition that are milling about chatting and being slack. Ignore the members of your own side doing the same and concentrate on your own game - you'll have fun whatever anyone else does. As for time wasted between games, tell the site. I sent an email to one site complaining about waiting around. The next time I went the head marshal was obsessed with getting us up and playing a.s.a.p. Won't cost you anything to contact them. Good luck for your next game.
  9. Thankfully, apart from some light flickering, we've been fine. First time ever that I've cancelled playing because of the weather though. I don't bother looking usually as the wet weather gear is always in the motor anyway.
  10. Well played! I play support gun a lot. Shouldering it like a rifle would allow you to get around ammo limits and semi auto only rules. At least as far as games with a lot of structure/milsims/filmsims etc. No use having different roles if people chuck plastic M249s around as though they are M4s.
  11. I've played several games with my £10 Eagle single shot p/a. It's great fun for CQB. Gas and spring days are a real blast too.
  12. I was working in my shop when the cashier called me over. He said, 'These two guys came in and tried to give me some fake fifty pound notes.' 'What did they look like?' I asked. 'Fifty pound notes,' he replied.
  13. If the Nuprol M4 is plastic bodied I put one up for £90 posted RM and accepted £85. I did get several kids after it who had no defence at all. No pics, no forum presence, no site memberships, nada. The cheapest M4 in the classifieds always will IMHO. You'd be better off selling the sight separately. It won't add much if anything to the rif.
  14. I learned how to rebuild engines through poverty. Poverty and the belief that if not dealt with by force, it is hard to break something more than it is already broken (electrics aside!).
  15. Blind firing is not being able to see between the end of your barrel and the point of aim. To do otherwise is indirect fire. Presenting a target is just that. As for ethics, I am sure we would all agree that eudaimonia is central to airsoft. We are all there to enjoy ourselves. Does your behaviour in game add to or decrease to the enjoyment of the game for all those present?
  16. Bit of a rough week really lads. Lost my gran on Saturday. Monday I didn't get a Valentine's card from my secret admirer, for the first time in 53 years.
  17. I got screamed at by a marshal for having the butt of the stock too low in my shoulder at one site. I was lobbing BBs in at the edge of my range. Not worth arguing with that level of daftness.
  18. I use cheap as chips conveyor belt silicone oil. Unbranded stuff in a plain bottle. Nothing has caught fire, exploded or shredded itself to pieces in the years I've used it.
  19. Silly practice in a way, but one does have the choice to watch or not to watch. Hit calling at games is something that blights the sport whatever you choose to do after initially choosing to attend. It is hard to ignore and impossible to choose not to hear. I enjoy the odd Gamble vid, but I avoid this kind of viewing in general.
  20. A third screw in the feet would make it a lot stronger. Make a triangle shape out of them.
  21. Me: “I’m stuck on a crossword clue 'Overworked Postman' can you help me?” My Wife: “Sure, how many letters?” Me: “I’m guessing too many.”
  22. I have seen someone use an S6 with the lenses replaced. Chap said that it was a proper tough job getting flat lenses in though. You could try a fan for airflow, but the PC fans are often are a touch weak even for goggles. You could try and replace the lenses and all the other orifices with mesh, e.g. base of the filter, any valves etc. As an alternative, you could learn to breath through your ears. I'm lost for suggestions after that.
