  1. How many alzheimers patients does it take to change a light bulb? To get to the other side!
  2. I wouldn't dismiss the idea of a second hand one either tbh.
  3. I have 'ahem' many CYMA AKs, all have standard hops and gears. I swap a BW 'fet between them. The barrels are not too bad tbh, but can be bettered, the rubbers are a bit crap and best replaced. You can nip the hop adjuster up when set and then forget it if you stick to one BB weight.
  4. Sad news. My mate Dave hanged himself at that new modern art gallery in town. Took three weeks before someone realised that he wasn't an exhibit.
  5. I laugh at the banter, but bust ribs do flaming hurt. Mine took a couple of months to heal too. They clicked like castanets at first. I did actually play with them broken, but I only walked and didn't run.
  6. Hi! You can find a load out thread with hundreds of pics in the gear section. There are also several threads on good starter rifs. Double Eagles new range get a lot of recommendations, as do G&G for M4 platforms. I wouldn't be too focused on a metal body, pot metal is not necessarily stronger or weightier than decent polymer. If you say what kind of site you play at, it might help with suggestions. Hi! You can find a load out thread with hundreds of pics in the gear section. 7. Nasty cut to say the least. Glad you were attended to so well. I think that a link to this ought to go on the thread about wearing a helmet in game.
  8. If you fancy a particular era/game, then check out Facebook. I play with a very loosely organised 'team' in themed games. We just turn up and play, and over time you gel with certain other regular players. Cold War themed games are a great way to start. Gunman and Octo8 are probably the easiest to start with. Both have fb pages. Sierra Bravo do some great themed games in Kent.
  9. Looking at Uttings site just now, the case I have seems to have been discontinued. I did note though that the Rapier metal case is only £20/£30 more than the Nuprol. Not sure on sizes, but the ally cases are buy once and forget about. I've had mine for years. Might be worth a look.
  10. Some people swear by a 70deg rubber, but I've never managed to get one to work at sub 350. I have used a plain G&G nub with an ML but they seem to work better with the omegas that they are designed for.
  11. Scientists have announced a new major study into the effects of cannabis on sea birds. They intend to leave no tern unstoned in their research.
  12. I'd go for a mixture. Gas hob, and electric oven. Neff are a decent brand.
  13. I use an aluminium hard case from Uttings for HFT, it is flight standard, which may be useful one day. For treks to and from the carpark I use a sack barrow or carp barrow. Sack barrow for solo trips, carp barrow for several peoples kit. You do need to be careful about bungying the rifle case on securely mind. Such a setup traverses really rough ground and allows you to carry loads of kit with ease.
  14. Have a look at MTM. Better quality IMHO than Nuprol, not that the Nuprol looks crap. Consider weight too. If you put all your kit in one case, you have to lug the thing around.
  15. My dear mother was unfortunately afflicted with a beak rather than lips. Lovely woman but she had a fowl mouth.
  16. I can only wear milsurp boots or made to measures. Fit is everything. Many firms only do standard width. The milsurp stuff is size consistent too. Find what fits and you are safe to buy another pair online. German paras, British highlegs, etc are classics cos they work. I used to. Cheapo Redwoods were fine and had a welted sole. Several brands do safety or none safety versions, Cat for one. Unfortunately, my previous life as a ballet dancer meant that fit was not what it could have been.
  17. Our local neighbourhood association are arguing about whether we should complain about the woman next door. She spends half her time sunbathing naked in her garden. I'm on the fence myself.
  18. More or less @BigStew. I should have said that CYMA do a railed 40mm launcher that is so close to a cut down M79 that you could get it close enough to the rif pictured. I have one for Nam games and it's 10 yard rule OK. If the OP is willing to put the work in, it may be an option at the price. Thanks for the link mind! 👍
  19. The CYMA version is dirt cheap and has integral rails. Just another option.
  20. For themed games I have about a dozen none M4s. For skirmishing I use my tatty old G&G M4 all the time, with another for back up. The ergonomics are spot on. Its had so many shots through it that I carry a spare motor in my gunbag.
  21. ECW surplus boots. Built like ultra tough hiking boots but all easy to clean and treat leather. Far too hot for me to run in, but fine for most folks.
  22. If you need to know the difference between a chickpea and a lentil, remember that no one has ever paid for a lentil on their chest.
  23. TM are extremely nice, but a lot of budget stuff is very reliable (if not buggered about with) these days.
