  1. Had a few deliveries today, here's a before & after... Cheap stock is a bit wobbly but waiting for one from our classifieds, LPVO is a temp fixture until a reasonably priced clone 'Optics suite L900A1' arrives on the market (planning on it going on my Ugr-i eventually). A similar reason for the Mawl-1, it'll be relaced by an LLM3 once a decent 3D printed or clone is available. After all that... the Magpul foregrip is pucka.

After about 4 different stocks, I finally found one I'm happy with for the Stribog and after way too long I finally found the front rail I wanted for my Recoil HK416C

  8. Reviews for the Freya are generally very good. A guy at my local site has one and has no complaints with it. He's changed the barrel and bucking in his, but by his own account that is in chasing the last few % of accuracy rather than any shortcomings with the stock items. I think he plays Sat and Sun every single weekend so his certainly gets used. I don't think you can go too far wrong with that choice. I'll also vouch for Double Eagle though along with @WildBoneZ. My first gun was an M906C and up until the last month had been my only one for the last two years. No end of abuse and never let me down.

  9. I remember stumbling on this a while back when checking out their Spitfire sling attachment, but personally decided I'd never use such a setup for a sling and I'd say there's a reason it isn't popular out there. That aside, I'm assuming from a quick look at your profile that you'd use it with a real stock, so that part would hold up (for a while at least), but I'd be suspect of the other airsoft parts of 99% of replicas holding up to the weird leverage forces if you ever run it as a 1-pt. If you have found a real life pic you want to replicate for the funsies then fair enough obviously, but I'd say that lower receiver end plates with QD sockets/normal side-of-stock QDs are infinitely more popular for a reason.

  10. IME they still felt like an AEG to shoot and the mechanism was just another thing to break. They still make AEG noises. It's like, slightly better to shoot but it doesn't feel like recoil at all. It feels like someone taped a rampant rabbit to your receiver.

Another new member (Dutch) but not another noob: due to health issues I had to make cuts and two years ago I decided to sell my airsoft collection. I regretted that step but life sometimes stinks. I hoped to return one day. That day has come. Happy days. Dutch airgun forums meanwhile are dead, sad... Being an avid airgunner I have been involved is the UK scene quite a few years now and learned to appreciated the UK spirit, every man needs a shed (to tinker), and visited several HFT weekends in the UK from north to south. Airsoftwise I prefer pistols and am interested in Tokyo Marui. Two weeks ago I started collecting again, sold a couple of airguns, went to my local RFD for a TM hi-capa and a 1911 railgun and ordered 2 springers and a GBB 92 in Germany as well as a Taiwanese GBB Desert Eagle in Poland, which kicks like a mule and is quite a lot to behold. I can't skirm, only collect and do paper target shooting, nevertheless I hope I can learn a lot onhere and maybe contribute as well.

  15. How long do they tend to last nowadays? I've considered buying bios, if only for the occasional site that requires them. But I go through ammo so infrequently I'd be concerned about it sitting open and unused for months and then coming back to it.

  18. Sling swivel and stock attachment by these guys https://www.tech10tactical.com/product-page/lmt-swinger-pack price is reasonable but shipping and Brownell's is about the same money again so was wondering anyone seen a replica kicking about? Ta very much.

  19. Granted, my experience was over a year ago but they were fine. Posted items out in good time and assisted me when an item was the wrong size. If you need a TRMR holster, someone on here could probably 3D print you one.

    First RIF Opinions?

Hi @Joesif When I got back into airsoft after approx. 10 year hiatus I grabbed myself one of these Double Eagle - M923G DEX556 AEG | Patrol Base UK upgraded the hop and slapped on some attachments and away I went! I think they are pretty decent for the money and a great "starter" I mostly play CQB so a TM Mp7 was always on the cards and its what I run 90% of the time but I still have the M923G as a back up or if I bring a friend along. my advice is whatever you get, learn basic maintenance and it will keep you in the game more and the safe zone less!

  21. Yeah the split gearbox design is aoe problem central, i very quickly gave up on it running as an aeg. It became a testbed for shenanigans for a while until i eventually had a polarstar jack spare and a nozzle long enough to turn down to suit. Fixed the mag issue by heretically grafting a mount to fit an m249 box mag But even then it was just too big and cumbersome to be useful in game so i gave up on it.

  25. FWIW modern bio BBs are made of PLA and coated in wax. The ones you shoot will still be there centuries later. Since they don't really biodegrade they're pretty much the same as non bios.

Welcome. I also sold/swapped airguns to get into Airsoft. Much more fun, sociable and energetic. Still new here myself, I spend far too much time in the classifiied section on here, and on YouTube looking at their reviews. Spent a bit of time in the Netherlands, love the north especially. Stunning scenery and great people. Rick

Welcome back, I always say that Airsoft is like the mafia, no one ever really gets out lol. Please take your time to acquaint yourself with the forum rules, in particular the rules regarding airguns, can't be sold or even discussed here. Other than that, enjoy🍻

  34. Don’t bow down to peer pressure, do what’s best for you Nobody is going to see it when your mitts are all over it on the field, and that’s when comfort and grip matters! Another suggestion, if it’s grip you want , would be to Stipple it with a soldering iron There’s hundreds of videos on YT showing how to do it, in loads of different styles Start off on the vert grip, as that’s easier to replace if you fcuk it up πŸ‘

    What have you made?

Having done up a replica G3 from an old TM version made from parts. I wanted a scope on it, but didn't just want an ordinary scope and didn't wanna pay for the scope that goes with the gun in the real world. Anyhoo, I started with a cheap 4x40 normal scope and cut it down. Emptied it out and put a bit of 30mm pipe on the back. I had a TM MP5 claw mount and cut the top off, filling any gaps in with milliput. A friend 3d printed some spacers and I glued them to the scope I was using. I glued various spare caps on and put a real G36 3x inner scope part to have some sort of sight picture through it. Sprayed up black and flip up end caps to finish. A bit later on I decided I wanted the more modern type lower that I'd seen with the German soldiers in Afghanistan. I used a cheap MP5 Navy lower and filled in the embossed bullet symbols. Sprayed it with bumper paint and drew on the selector markings. I bought a real selector lever from D&B Militaria and drilled a new hole to slot it right through to the other side. It may feel like a long winded way of making it but apart from the lower I already had and the selector which was only a couple of quid all it cost me was a bit of time.

    What have you made?

Saw this thread and thought I'd share one of my projects I'd done a couple of years ago. Nothing too fancy but it's unique as I've not seen any other airsoft replica Turkish HK33 looking replicas as accurate tbh. Classic Army Base gun. Slim Handguard made from a real G3 Handguard. Railed Handguard made from an old springer shotty and an MP5 3d printed handguard. The GL front end was a cheap battery box cut to suit with the handguard made from foamex board. The cocking handle was fashioned from foamex board too. The lower was a standard MP5 one with the embossed bullet symbols filled in. Repainted in OD then the new bullet symbols drawn on freehand by marker pens. The magazine is just a spring Sig552 one modded to fit. Again, nothing too fancy, but I like the finished job.

  38. I love it, but I've wanted one for about 25 years. This one's on the gun picture thread as I finally finished it this week. It's Cyma, but one of their more expensive models, so as stock it performs as well as you'd expect. Obviously, the real niche is the magazine. Reloading takes some drilling but I've got it down to about 5-6 seconds now (mag out, new mag in, old mag in pouch). The low-caps hold about 190 BBs and I tend to run 4 + 1 hi-cap backup (~1000). Magazine storage seems to be an issue for many but I repurposed my P90/UMP double mag pouches and they're perfect. Ergonomically, it's well balanced, heavy (full metal) and the chunky 'foregrip' of the magazine feels great in my clown-sized hands πŸ˜„. I completely removed the stock on mine as a preference for airsoft, but it can be operated with the stock folded usually. Accessories are limited, even by AK standards. I had to fit the 2 front side rails myself using a massively over-engineered improv. The shortened cover and receiver may also cause problems. Obviously, there's no front grip options. Mine's been kitted out with Zenitco repros and other Russian stuff simply for authenticity- style beats substance for me every time. All told, it's my current favourite (don't tell my KS-1 πŸ˜„), but I'd certainly recommend holding one before you pull the trigger on a shopping cart, as it does seem to be a bit 'Marmite'. Sorry if that was TMI...

  39. Another vote for the FRAG C here. One thing I like about it is that the safety can be put on and off with one hand and you can tell if it's on or off just by feel so you don't need to look at it (no idea if this is the case for the quake grenades though as I've never owned one)
    1 point
  40. It looks good however weight will be an issue and this is the same for the Quake. The Frag C is a better choice if you plan to run more than one as once you get to 3 or more it because quite a weight to carry but the Frag is much lighter and carrying 6 or more is about the same as 3 Quakes. The only advantage of the Jaeger or Quake is the multi shot options which isn't available for the Jaeger yet. The downside to multi shot is you need to retrieve the bang before using it again whereas carrying a few Frag's means you don't have that issue.

    propane bottles

There's some Airsoft gas that's silicon free, and it's generally better for the gun. The only place the silicon oil really goes is all over the hop and BB as it's fired. Modern guns use nitrile o-rings, which don't soak up silicon oil at all. They also just don't dry out like that, but do benefit from grease to help them slip into place to seal better. It was a common belief that silicon oil swells o-rings and helps them seal, mostly brought across from airguns which did historically use silicon o-rings. You can also get propane brands with basically no mercaptan additive. Bullfinch is the one I run.
