For one, I'd advise avoiding that (re)brand. Nuprol chargers are notorious for going bang, and while they'll just be rebanding generic cells, they'll be the very cheapest they can source. On storage, there is a physics-based argument for storing at about 60-70% (3.7-3.8V), so you were doing the right thing by trying it. Personally I don't bother though, unless I suspect that I've run a battery very low by forgetting to swap at lunch. I just leave them as they are after each game then top them to 4.2V the night before the next. Lithium is pretty forgiving, I've found batteries and cells that I've misplaced for years and got them back into service, sometimes by jumping them directly to give them a quick boost to the point where a charger will finish the job. Given that an airsoft battery costs about as much as a bottle of BBs, eking every last charge cycle out of them isn't something that really concerns me.4 points

They realised the mistake was publishing it, rather than just verbally telling their regulars not to bother chronoing along with the chumps and mugs. But they can't unsay that quiet part out loud now.2 points

UKARA renewal

Over 18 for purchase and home delivery is available from many retailers ( the home delivery is by someone who is registered onto the retailers RFD license ) however private sales can be shipped using the appropriate courier service , but again you’d need to satisfy yourself the purchaser is over 18. under 14’s need supervision at all times in all aspects of shooting , private land or written permissions included . between 14-17 you no longer need supervision as long as on private premises / land or land with written permission . scotland is subject to the AWC licensing . Lipo Charging questions!....
Rogerborg reacted to Colin Allen for a topic
It is good practice to take the batteries to their storage voltage (around 3.8v per cell), so the advice from Onyx was good. I do it with our batteries; it isn't exactly a hardship. Nuprol batteries are not very good, to put it mildly. Vapextech are better, but I really like the Turnigy ones, except when they refuse to come out of battery compartment that they went into so easily, but that is another story!1 point -

UKARA renewal
Cannonfodder reacted to Rogerborg for a topic
Jockland? 😠 It's Jockshire. 1J is Norn Terror Isl- I mean, Northern Ireland. Jockshire, as above, needs a specific airgun loicence for non-airsoft airgun firearm, which is different from both a FAC and a shotgun cert - although you can apply for one along with a shotgun cert, for reasons that escape me. Where it gets interesting is that it's easy to accidentally turn a boltie into a >2.5J non-airsoft airgun. I've done it myself using a "500fps" spring that resulted in an eye-watering (or eyeball bursting) 3.3J. And remember that the airsoft power limit is with "any missile", so the State could drop in a 0.86g steel BB and watch it Joule creep to the moon. So now I tune to under 2.2J even at sites with a 2.3J limit.1 point -

Cheers, I thought that you could order online or over the phone, but it had to be shipped to a RFD where the buyer would collect it But it's still not as easy to get as some seem to think1 point -

Rift is also holding a relaxed 48 weekend event, smaller scale than shift your rift. It is also on the August Bank Holiday this year. I think they're trying to entice some of the disenfranchised NAF goers. I sold as a trader at SyR this year and from what I saw can't fault much if anything of the organisation by Tony and the site team. Kind of felt I missed out by not playing a bit. Food is decent and fairly priced considering all players are a captive market, but you can get takeaways delivered to the front gate. The player numbers were in the few hundred and not as big as NAF.1 point

The declaration is part of the now familiar RIF docx that UPS emails in regards to the item clearance. My replica was downgraded by gunfire.pl (for UK below 1 joule) and was stated in the printed invoice. I added 300 FPS as an "estimate" value - presuming 0.20g lol In the meantime, my parcel is currently in the Stanford Le Hope UPS merry-go-round.1 point

It's all sorted now, they're equipping their highly trained extremely athletic marshaling team with mobile laser guided chronos, they'll be checking the fps of every bb as they cross the playing area, with offenders being warned "stop it, it's naughty", which will obviously scare the living shite out of them, ensuring they don't re-offend 😏 When old Bert isn't weeding out dem cheetahs, you can usually find him cleaning out the shitters💩 or cooking the burgers & sausages. 🤢1 point

Pyramex i Force Goggles
Rogerborg reacted to you can`t shoot me for a topic
I sent another email to pyramex asking about the ASTM F2879-19 which is listed on the i-force as specific for airsoft. The report tests for this by a lab was done with 0.2g bbs at 175m/s for a lens retention test and 0.25g at 177m/s for a high impact test. The results showed that 5 samples passed all the tests for the impact test in -12, 23 and 37 degrees celsius tests with both the temples and straps. One sample failed the lens retention test with the temples when cold stressed at -12 degrees celsius but passed with the straps. Two other samples passes the lens retention tests at 25degrees and 37 degrees celsius with both the temples and strap tests.1 point -
UKARA renewal
Rogerborg reacted to Speedy Sloth for a topic
I do agree with UKARA existence if it's a way to keep the sport going (which it has done and hopefully will continue until the heat death of the universe.) But being devils advocate the UKARA scheme only exists as a method to sell rifs from retailer's to the public. Once it's in the public's hands UKARA has nothing to do with it anymore. You don't need a UKARA to have a rif. And nobody waving one around in public is being checked on the database. The police won't care where you got it from just why you wanted to get shot by armed response. Having a UKARA simply justifies a retailer selling you something because someone was overzealous with the rules at one point in time. we make it easier to get an air gun than an Airsoft replica in this country, makes no sense.1 point -

If you look at the table on the second page of that, you will see that in "temple mode" ie - worn as glasses without the strap, the lenses are rated to EN166F. Worn with the strap they are EN166 3 4 B. By wearing them with the strap the unit as a whole can be classed as goggles and hence gets an EN166B rating. EN166 F is the highest you can get with glasses because part of the classification for goggles is that they won't get knocked off by the impact.1 point

They asked me to marshal
clumpyedge reacted to Colin Allen for a topic
I marshalled at two sites over a few years; it nearly put me off airsoft so I went back to playing.1 point -
I'm confused too. If those numbers are right, it's testing at 3.92J. Not enough for some super-spicy European countries, but way higher than anything we should be catching in the UK. It's also far higher than EN166 F, which plenty of people wear without issues. Not something I'd do, I always wear a strap-on, but I've never seen or heard of any eyepro actually failing on site. Aaah, now that makes sense. Thanks for reading on a bit.0 points
