  1. Wow, very nice collection there. What make is the Uzi? Dont see too many of those around. Managed to grab myself an MTP jacket at the carboot so when I'm using the M1A1 Thompson I just throw some of my m4 mags in the many pockets ready to speedily fill my single Thompson mag 😁
  2. Friends and I are looking at getting some radios, the UV-5R seems like a decent shout and isn't too expensive and we can also use them while hiking it seems. I understand theres a need to get a loicense for it so I was wondering where abouts people would recommend courses for getting said license, as it seems theres some kind of test to get it according to this website: https://www.essexham.co.uk/baofeng-radio-without-licence I know you can probably get away with using one without having a license but its something that I would like to learn more about and figured these courses & getting a "amateur radio “Foundation” licence" would help with that. Any info as to how to go about getting the license and learning the necessary information would be great and if anyone has other radio recommendations that would be grand. Thanks
  3. Well after a year and  a half away from the sport, looks like I'll soon be able to jump back in. Any tips for making sure my kit is still in working order by the time I'm able to play (probably Jan 2022)? I've been charging batterys and firing off a mag or  two for the AEGs and then just kept the GBB mags up with some gas.

Er, it's an M4. It's literally one bolt, then split the receiver.  If the fake bolt piece falls out, meh, you don't actually need it.

@AK47frizzleThe good days indeed, but also the days where 13 year old me made a million "best gunz" threads. Its a shame to no longer see the old faces like Monty, Ed, Yawns, Zak, Del Monty etc but cool to see the forum is still flourishing none the less

@RogerborgI'll give it a go closer to the time and get back to you 😃

  4. Still waiting for that VFC Fal...

2021 has not been a good year for FN FAL releases...

  5. Picked this up last week, really good especially if you add the survivable crashes mod for when your Huey inevitably gets shot down. Definitely recommend doing some tunnel pvp with friends, its a blast
  6. If you haven't already I'd recommend Black Ops Cribs and Portishead, both great sites. Spartan Airsoft is the other side of Bristol and is a good outdoor woodland one, Bristol Courthouse like you said is AMAZING if you want to run things like pistol only for a bit of fun (although I've had quite a few issues there of people not taking hits/being general smooth brains). As mentioned above, Spartan CQB is a great site with a really good layout (although the lunch breaks/breaks between games are a bit long)
  7. Anyone have any advice for when you've ordered a small package from the US (USPS) and it still hasn't been delivered 1 and a half months later? Last update was "

I've had things take three months to arrive from The US. As @sonofsammo says, sometimes it'll go round and round the depots there before getting anywhere near an international flight. Also bear in mind, even upon arrival it could easily be stuck in customs for a month before they even calculate how much duty and handling to charge you.

I'm waiting on a package sent from HK around the same date via HK post office, no info after 30th December.  Maybe a lot of parcels coming into the country around that time have just been stock-piled.  I know Royal Mail does this to my packages sometimes.  When the load is high it's like they get pushed to one side and then dealt with only when load decreases.

@ak2m4I thought that but then at the same time I've ordered two things from Aliexpress and both have turned up in just over a week. Strange times atm

  8. Bought this with my first 'proper' pay check last year. Still in awe at its beauty...
  9. Standard CM16, photo taken last year. Loved it from the get go (1st airsoft rifle after many years of wait) but holy hell has it had its problems with the barrel constantly falling off, accuracy being wild and now the hop ups buggered. Still love it to bits.
  10. Had some issues with the cm16 raider today in that the .25 bbs were drooping to the floor after only 10m with the hop. Up both fully on and off. Adjusting the hop up does not seem to do anything. Any ideas on what I could do?

Yeah for sure there are quite a few things that could potentially go wrong with reassembly.

      - ensure the hop rubber (the sleeve) is fitted correctly, with the protruding line seated in the long groove in the barrel and the protruding nub on the opposite side seated inside the little window in the barrel.

      - It is possible to push the barrel with the rubber installed both too far into the hop unit thereby smushing up the feed lips and distorting them or equally not pushing the barrel and feed lips in far enough, either scenario will almost certainly run you into feeding problems.

(sometimes with a very tight setup a small amount of silicon oil can help - just don't get it any where near the hop window)

      - ensure the plastic barrel clip is engaged properly, with the two recesses fitting correctly into the grooves on the barrel - some times these can go on and you'll think its in place, but in fact the two recesses are just resting on the edge of the groove - this can cause the barrel itself to move, thereby moving the cut out window away from the hop up arm rendering the mechanism useless.

      - custom hop nubs (especially flat nubs) can be too wide for your existing hop window and will require an equal amount of light sanding on each side until it comfortably fits into the window - the test is to press the nub down and see if it springs back up under the elastic force of the rubber without getting lodged.

This could cause you an inability to push the nub down or it could cause the nub to become stuck, so that when you raise the hop arm the nub remains in its position in the hop window.

      - Also do check the condition of all the hop mechanism dials and arms, It's not that common but some times these little pieces can become a bit minced.

Defintley, take the barrel and hop out, dissemble, then  reassemble checking at every stage.. to be safe, do clean the rubber on the inside of the window. You can see if the mechanism is working in its most basic form by looking down the barrel and adjusting the wheel while observing the nub lowering and rising.

      Hope this helps dude!

    3. Cr0-Magnon

      Cr0-Magnon

Sounds like an issue I had when I hadn't reinstalled the nub correctly.

    4. Zarrin

      Zarrin

@Cr0-Magnonoh yeah, that's another one - make sure the nub is engaged properly with the hop unit arm, if it doesn't lodge into the arm it may be displaced to the front or rear of the arm most likely resulting in a zero hop scenario.

Some people like to super glue the nub onto the arm, which is fine for a standard nub, though not necessarily for a flat nub otherwise you may get a sloped hop surface - the tiniest blob of silicon gel can help keep it in place for installation.

  12. Only seem to be getting about 3/4s a mag off before gas seems to not be powerful enough to fire every shot and not enough power to move the slide back. Is this because I was doing it in such a cold environment using green gas? (probably around 5C, evening time yesterday). ASG M9 for reference

Kjw co2 mags are crap ime break in 2min, expensive to keep replacing parts and even then sometimes unfixable. I wouldn't bother.

  13. KJW M9 mag has arrived but upon inspection, there is a small but noticeable gap between the bottom plate and the start of the outer casing. Should I sent it back immediately or wait until the pistol arrives to test? I've heard of people receiving  faulty mags like this with gas leak issues but not sure if I'm just being paranoid.

Yeah, I've sent an email asking to withdraw from the agreement, send back and receive a refund. Not having much luck with this m9 as tg still haven't come back about whether I'm getting a refund on an order they can't complete

I'll probably just get the extra mag from Fire Support when I order the actual pistol from there.

Ive just recieved this email from the store:

      "

I have had a look at the rest of the M9 magazines from KJW that we have in stock. It seems like they have changed their design of magazine as of the last batch that we have received.

Since then I have confirmed with KJW that these are indeed their new design magazines for the KJW / ASG M9 series.

If you are not happy with the item then we can accept the item back for a full refund provided the item is returned in pristine condition with its original packaging and any accessories it came with.

I will make sure our website images get updated within the next 24-72 hours!! Thanks for letting us know!!

      Regards"

  14. Is it better to buy from Fire Support instead of Taiwan Gun, if price isn't an issue? With regards to customer support, helping if the gun develops a fault over time etc. Thinking of refunding the TG order and getting it from FS instead, especially if it's a long time until its back in stock.

Echo'ing the above. TaiwanGun is great for "cheap" stuff but if Firesupport are showing it and the price gap isn't huge you're far better off buying from them. The aftersales support is brilliant and you're putting back in to a well established UK airsoft business.

  15. Ordered an m9 from Taiwan gun, paid and processed all fine. Went ahead and bought everything else I needed from amazon and a couple of other stores (gas, mags, maintanence stuff etc). Now I've just got an email saying: "hello
Im writing in refercne of your order
We dont have in stok beretta  mg  from your order :(
    What we do??
    marek"

Why would they let me buy it, if it was out of stock!?!? At a loss. Should I just wait until they next come in stock, although they said that would be new year earliest . ffs

      Rogerborg

This shouldn't even be a question, they should have refunded you in full immediately.  I'd get that money back where it belongs, in your pocket.

However, the 'piece' you may not have ordered, is the actual plate carrier

Ah right, because that photo was on the product description page I thought the centre piece was something that folded up from behind the mags and I was just unable to find it.

It’s not particularly well worded on the advert..

  18. On Taiwan Gun, as I'm completing the order I've just seen these two points:

For UK and Ireland orders shipping is at the customer’s own risk.
PLS write your UKARA number into order commentary.

The first one has me worried, the second confused. I am not ordering a RIF, but a rig and pouches. Is it going to get destroyed by customs?

Completely new to ordering from TG and utterly confused.

  19. Any estimated as to how long this would take to arrive? https://www.taiwangun.com/en/chest-rigs/buckle-up-chest-rig-v2-coyote-8fields

It says on the website 8-22 days, was hoping its closer to the 8...

    1. Rogerborg

      Rogerborg

Should be closer to (or less than) 8, assuming that they send it out quickly.  They have a huge turnover of stock and can get a little tardy when they're rammed.

  20. What mags, if any, have people had problems with when used with the G&G CM16 Raider (L)?

  21. https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/battleaxe-ar-15-450-round-polymer-magazine?pv=9671 Anyone had any experience with these? Would they fit a G&G Raider CM16 ok?

Unless your gun is very ‘picky’ about mags then any M16/M4/STANAG listed mag should fit and function fine in it .

Advise I’d give if you need to ask ‘does this mag work in gun XYZ ?” Is come at it from the other direction with “what mags if any has anyone had problems with in gun XYZ ?”👍
