  1. We are old Went to somebody's 50th bash on Saturday.... Jeez look at these old bastids as I looked around the place Slowly realising - f*ck - I'm only 18 months away myself Whoaaaahhhh - who is that ugly ol' bastid in the mirror I say... oops - uhm yeah that ugly ol' mofo is me I realise (now I just stop looking) But seriously - I didn't see myself as old as them f*ckers at weekend but soon me & Mrs Duck came to that horrible conclusion - it will be us very soon Now planning on retirement homes with a skirmish site close by and easy wheelchair/zimmer frame access
  2. F*CK ME - they are supposed to be in stock ffs you should get them in a week ffs Alas UK HobbyKing don't stock "airsoft" stuff £9:23 delivery + paypal fees (bloody hate getting nobbled for fees) But weird thing is the postage from EU stays the same no matter how nutz you go I added more n more stuff to cart and the weight was getting up to 4kg but still same Yeah best not proceed me thought - they are cheap but Mrs Duck may wire these vast haul of lipo's to my bollox (so I cleared my cart as I like my balls unfried and attached) charger is fine - saw that on fleabay for about £11:50 shipped from a UK seller If push comes to shove and they are dragging heals on shipping lmk and I'll send/loan ya one or two if it comes to it Can't be 45 days ffs - jeez otherwise people would be best ordering up a lipo when you first start going for ukara or stuff like that
  3. Hillman Avenger - the cheapo "lidl" copy - not much changes with me as per usual & totally off topic from moi a quick boring story...... Local Car Spares shop near me - had a smug bastid "answer for everything" git serving at counter...... I walk in on a Sunday morning to get some brakes etc..... "A set of front disc pads for a Hillman Avenger please....." "Ahhhhhh - Hillman Avenger, I used to have one of those sir......." Just as I'm about to strike up a conversation with him about they ain't bad etc..... he then continues with the line: "But I soon got rid of that pile of rust - and got myself a proper car" (smug cheesey grin) He had all the answers to all the cars "Petrol cap for a Skoda ? - yeah that sounds like a fair swap sir" so pointless trying to argue with the tosser plus he was a lot bigger than me Ahh many moons ago - when cars had points (pups maybe need to google that)
  4. yeah but fleeced lined rifle bag guys.... gimme the paypal details bro coz I want dat sick best mofo gun evvvvvaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh FANTASTIC - just don't do this bad boy justice "can provide better pictures" - nah its looks pretty bollox enough fanx
  5. You can buy a stfu lot of high end gun(s), top price batteries, charger along with stfu loadout n stuff Nothing wrong with that - people can spend as much or as little as they deem fit or can afford Usually though most go for a more modest but half decent first investment I keep comparing it all to ya first car - yes you can get a new/recent BMW if you wish but most go for the bashed up Ford (TriggerHappy will no doubt make some "bashed up G&G/Ford's of airsoft" joke no doubt) batteries - usually many settle for 7.4v lipo's about a min 20c but if possible go for 25c burst rating 35c is optional but all of this depends on what is available to fit in ya gun 11.1v lipo's usually are a bit too much to use on stock guns and trigger contacts can arc out/ burn up with carbon deposits much quicker there is 9.9v LiFe batteries which offer a middle or stop gap boost without going nutz on 11.1v however the range of LiFe batteries is very limited and tbh I don't think they are that good on tweaked guns stock guns you get a bit more zest than a 7.4v - tweaked guns though a 9.9v LiFe seems very very little difference (they don't seem to have the raw grunt lipo's can offer for response when running a more powerful neodym motor etc...) Chargers - well at a push almost anything will do as they are smart chargers that should stop charging when done Easiest model is a B3 type as it plugs straight into mains wall socket - so no psu unit required But I have used the really cheapo few quid ones with a router psu trickling away for a while now.... The above cheapo basic chargers do the job at a push but no other options slow charge - can't monitor each cell's voltage or adjust charging rate and cut off point B6 type - watch out for clones btw, these B6 have numerous features and programme modes adjustable cut off voltage/charge rate etc...... They usually need a decent psu but there is a mains version - just has a transformer psu unit above the charger circuit Me personally would suggest either a basic B3 type to get going or a B6 + psu if you can afford it Batteries - lipo if buying new & forget the old school nimah type The gun you buy will dictate what options/price you face Buying batteries from Airsoft shops will very likely mean paying more than going to a RC shop But often the bespoke "airsoft" lipo's will cost more than the block type batteries used in most RC stuff If buying a gun with a more bespoke thin stick or nunchuck type of battery then range/capacity/price will leave you with fewer choices HobbyKing either UK or EU warehouse is best/quickest delivery option with less delay and no possible import duty to pay They sell both clone B6 or genuine B6 chargers - youtube vids show you how to tell the difference Many have bought what they thought was genuine ones from fleabay/amazon only to find out they are snide copies (copies are not that bad but for a little bit more get a genuine B6 from a reputable seller) Avoid the "B" grade lipo's too on HobbyKing HK International I have been told as they are just the reject crap batteries Like most stuff - you can get by on a budget but don't scrimp too much or you will end up with real crap (eg: JBBG plinkers, crap defective bb's that jam, dodgy eyepro that does jack to protect your eyes etc..)
  6. Alas this B3 type ac charger is out of stock in Europe: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=77525 or on fleabay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Imax-RC-B3AC-2S-3S-LiPo-RC-Battery-Balance-Charger-with-Uk-Plug-UK-STOCK-/161794113290?hash=item25abae3f0a Now for tight ar$e gits like moi you could scrape by with this: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=41730 But you will need a 1a 12v psu, an old modem/adsl/router psu like a belkin/netgear may do the trick It will take a while to trickle charge but could get you by at a scrape Most higher end chargers like B6 types use a higher amp psu so they can charge faster at higher rates 2a 3a etc... than around 800mah of the cheapo basic chargers possible options to buy from EU hobbyking with batteries: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=41730 (but needs an old modem/router psu that you might have knocking about) or a basic one with a bit more oomph in it: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=73951 simple 240v charger http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=73946 (240v basic charger) GENUINE B6 MOFO CHARGER - gen chargers are already calibrated (I got some clone B6's but will need to look into calibrating them before using - gen B6's are ready to use out of box) http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=31467 needs a 5a 11v to 18v psu (at a push a pc laptop psu say 16v 4.5a could get by) ((http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-IBM-Lenovo-Thinkpad-08K8203-72W-16V-4-5A-Power-AC-Adapter-Laptop-Charger-/400423702601?hash=item5d3b1cd049 - might do but don't quote me that the power plug is exactly correct but think it might be 2.5mm x 5.5mm in B6 charger)) Genuine B6 charger is couple of quid cheaper at UK site but if buying the airsoft batteries from EU may as well get some sort of charger from EU too as shipping will be zilch on top of battery shipment Well you got some options to consider - according to what's left in ya wallet
  7. Fairy Power spray is your friend takes a bit of time to soak in overnight....... couple of toothbrushes - inc a toddlers one comes out really well - 99.999999% Zero One puke green removed or you can just say wtf & Krylon/Plastikote over it
  8. 1 question..... WHY ???? You got rails on Raider for easy mount of crap use as it is a £120 gun heck just plop some ris covers on there like ladder rail covers maybe but as outer barrel is in 2 or 3 bits plus all the pi$$balling about it will still be a CM Raider no matter what A Carbine - maybe wanna change to a bit better handguard if it all fits on ok but a Raider with rails - for what it is worth... I'd personally leave as it is than start all that crap on a CM starter gun up to you - it is your gun in the end though so feel free to do whatever you may like edit - thinking about it - are you sure you not talking about your carbine's handguard (battery up front) yeah that might be a small improvement but Raider with rails - I'd leave as is tbh
  9. Actually if you want less messing about just get a few from EU like Lozart said: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=44690 £5:54 it eventually comes up with if ya wait around - no adapters needed but 1800 vs 2200 (not much in it and reckon less messing about to get ya going) look for a B3 charger - add lipo's at £5:54 first yup that is gonna be a nice easy cheapy deal I reckon EU shipping seems to have nigh on no weight limit or bandings like UK or HK faster shipment than HK and I guess a bit easier all round if it has small tamiya already fitted for ya
  10. IGNORE MOST OF THIS BIT AS LIPO's NEED ADAPTERS OR CONNECTORS CHANGING yup that will do ya proud but get from EU as it will ship quicker and no duty to risk paying..... Alternatively though..... http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=26714 http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=31977 adapters: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__26048__Female_Mini_Tamiya_gt_Male_XT60_3pcs_bag_UK_Warehouse_.html PLEASE NOTE - the adapters may have the polarity ar$e about face.... large Tamiya's for RC & airsoft seem same but for some reason often small tamiya adapters come with polarity back to front for airsoft No biggie - just check wires n stuff, use a pin/needle and pop the pins loose in adapter end swap over & click back in place - easy peasy Only need to bother with 1 adapter - leave in gun and plop in xt60 lipo as n when needed Eventually - look into re-doing the connectors to deans or T connectors if you got a soldering iron maybe but zippy compacts are bloody good buys - I have a number of them 25c's as well as some others ATM if you open both batteries up in a new tab/window...... after a while you should get a box pop up just once with a slight discounted one time offer: turnigy seems to be £6:59 Vs Zippy compact offer £6:87 My advice if you can run to it is get 3 or 4 of them whilst you are at it - well 2 min but often I go overboard - oops and some adapters - BUT DOUBLE CHECK/RE-DO POLARITY ON ADAPTERS PERHAPS Note you will only get 1 item only discounted and get them from same place UK Warehouse (UK don't do Airsoft stuff so best buy "Airsoft" stuff from EU instead of HK INTERNATIONAL) Look around maybe for a basic B3 type of charger whilst you are there perhaps or go for a bells/whistles B6 type of charger if you want maybe but tbh a simple straight forward 240v B3 basic charger will be fine to get started with for now
  11. Then there is the cheapo non-blowback gas pistols starting about half the price of AEP's... £20+ basic GG £45+ EAP £60+ BB GG right up to £100 to £150+ higher end stuff please note these are rough figures - can't be ar$ed to quote this bargain n that bargain & you may need to add shipping n crap on top
  12. you should of got a bit of paper from chrono test..... 6 to 10 shots fired - hopefully 330 - 345ish rather than 370-ish ?? (hopefully they remembered to downgrade spring for ya) Kiss ya wallet goodbye - oooh that's cheap..... (story of our lives.......)
  13. Welcome sir...... I do wish all new members signing up are forced or reminded about all the fantastic guides already in the new players section http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/12854-new-player-guides-info/ Ian's guide should be compulsory before completing the registration - no offense to experienced new members http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/17294-ians-guide-to-noobism-on-a-tight-budget/ There is a goldmine of info there all written by people taking time out to pass on a wealth of wisdom often updated and true honest advice given for free by members with far more experience than I will ever have No offense to anybody but 99.99999% of questions are already there and trying to get around any ukara loopholes is risky and pointless - plus it kinda undermines and threatens the sport in this country yes it is a friggin' toy gun - I'm the first to shout this from the rooftops but as it is a very very realistic looking gun and in the recent security measures it is even more important we all conduct ourselves responsibly in accordance to ukara & vcra act (yes some of it may not perfect crystal clear sense in places but we go with it all or face the wrath of sect 6 paragraph 4 etc....) the saying "Don't be dick" has never been more important for ALL AIRSOFTER's so please forget trying to sneakily obtain a RIF Join a saddo toy gun club, if u18 & no defense ask an adult to purchase or gift you a 2-tone - ahem cover/customise it as you wish but have a defense of some sort and act responsibly with your toy gun is the really important bit - whatever colour it is This ain't a pop at you or anybody else - but a lot of info is already out there of what you can/can't do in this country And even if you managed to get a RIF from US into this place - very often you get screwed for tax/duty in which case they will have opened it and found whats inside if not x-ray'd so you won't be getting it delivered anyway Try to stay within our ukara guidelines to keep this sport safe and please the looney left politicians that seek to ban it like Australia has done
  14. Think £200 is about right tbh then you got all the paypal postage bollox fees crap (me personally I expected to see a price all in rather than add £xxx for post + 4% paypal rubbish) but we all roll slightly differently and depends on if 5k or 50k rnds put through her with the gears n stuff in there that should be running rather bloody quick btw and 300fps is a little low rough estimate...... Should be hitting about 25 to 30rps at a rough guess the tbb should have placed a smidge more fps and at that speed it might have been a good idea to fitted a m110 spring and short stroke a tooth to stop double cycling (might have SS 2 teeth on a m110 and that is maybe why 300 fps is perhaps showing up) presume the 300fps is a rough guide btw - would of expected 330-ish with a SS tooth or two but I'm not a guru gun techy - i wish but just my findings with higher speed gears or rof guns SHS torque motors run aprox 33% faster than stock SHS speed motors run aprox 50% faster but run warmer when spamming
  15. Breaking it down costs wise and going by usual AF-UK 75% value n crap...... SC-02 = £130 new (175 Euro at normal GF or TWG) so that equates to let us say £100 now upgrades are a techy subject as some upgrades are beneficial and others can be "improvements" that need to be done anyway eg: AoE, fet, deans etc..... Madbull barrel - hmmm just the name in most people's opinion £30 ??? new Maple Leaf bucking - say a tenner, though I presume also a better hop than D-Boys was probably fitted - £10-ish Gears - SHS 13:1 gonna go with £17:50 - well lets say £20 to round it off fitted n shimmed well Pico fet £15 SHS motor £25 to £30 average retail price so parts wise new you are looking at about £100 in parts on a £130 new gun = £230 new list pricing no doubt them parts are a big improvement over stock but need to be fitted of course Gonna go out on a limb and say £300 all in for new gun + new parts + fitting (yes I know it ain't gonna be just a couple of hours to get it all running absolute sweet but some stuff like AoE needs box stripping down anyway) So with a £300 figure for say gun tweaked and chuck in the mags you are looking at about £225 I would say would be a fair price if 75% resale value Anybody else feel free to chime in - might be a final offer of £200 if your are desperate or chuck in Eotech to sweeten deal but bollox to the lot for £200 - that is giving it away (tell them to buy it all themselves new and do the work - f*ck that, or link them to JBBG for proper guns coz they must still be dreaming) You could shove it up for £250 ono and see what interest you get - but think £225-ish sounds about right to me yup you probably paid out a fair bit for a tech to do the work for ya but alas some stuff you can't recoup that much as service/tweaking etc... is all part of the course (much like spending £500 on an old banger's clutch - don't mean it is worth another £500 when you flogg the old jalopy motor) £200 without sight sounds about the bottom line I'd sell it for if I was desperate £225 sounds about a fair starting price to me..... - all parts fitted free I guess you could say anybody else think it is worth say 2 Curly wirly's & a Creame Egg if you chuck in a good lipo too
  16. Whoa..... who needs full auto with that guy ????
  17. I posted a usuall epic War n Peace reply to this last night, but fone/post was playing up..... As jcheesright said it might be something came adrift and could be simple fix to some techy But to say battery caused this is total bollox, even a modest 11.1v lipo won't strip stuff straight away (unless it is a high burst 11.1v lipo running a very rapid neodym motor - which I doubt is in there) Even if battery was wired in reverse the AR latch should prevent the box running backwards The battery being puffed or blown or whatever was mentioned seems to indicate a lipo - probably 7.4v was reffered to So a 9.6v nimah is not mega over juicy as most 7.4v lipo's compare to a 8.4v nimah therefore 1.2v will matter f*ck all...... Forget who the seller is or where they reside or feedback past or present for a sec..... Me personally, if I had flogged something I would be a little more open minded and helpful to the potential buyer Trying to suggest or diagnose any possible faults that might have developed in transit or since it left me (not straight away state it must be something else that seller did) I try to take great care n pride in stuff I do and would do my upmost to help & try to resolve any issues with my stuff I have sold Unfortunately on ebay I have had a few "try it on-ers" from ar$eholes with brand spanking new zero feedback accounts ruining my faultless feedback and freezing my paypal account whilst I deal with some dirty bastid try it on-er c*nt in particular but even though the ar$ehole kept changing his story in black n white plain writing/messages I still had to fight tooth n nail to defend his bogus claim Not with standing that previously a guy did have a problem with a product, and he returned it and I replaced this with a better product to compensate But I won't be taken for a fool if I strongly feel somebody is trying to take advantage of my genuine integrity Suffice to say I no longer bother selling much on fleabay now as it ain't worth the hassle Buyers - really need to tread so very cautiously if buying stuff s/hand.... Try to buy new if possible, and always ask questions n gurantees Ask yourself this - like a car etc...... If the thing is that bloody gun & reliable shooting really perfectly - wtf are they selling it ?? Sellers - if you know the item is really sound and reliable then you should be prepared to offer some modest warranty say a 2 week one if you wish to stand by your word and assure potential buyers it is as good as you saye specially if you are getting a decent price for it - or why wouldn't they just buy new instead of your s/hand aeg ??? But a word of caution on both sides for any potential scammers or "try it on-er's" Soz - but that is how I friggin' roll and what I would like or expect some sales to have. If all else fails speak to paypal/credit card if nothing can be resolved keep us informed, just hope you didn't pay too much for it so if all else fails it can be fixed for a modest fee
  18. Don't give up just yet.... It is some stupidly odd why hop/nozzle not sealing Look out for a complete tear down of ya gun bit by bit... make ultra close comparison's All of a sudden you will see something out of whack, ar$e about face, worn/broke, incorrect part or fitting.... WTF - 5 min fix and all lovely again. If all else fails then it might have to go to a shop but wtf. At least you have had a go or two at it (FFS - soz for ultra jumbo font, posted this on me fone and all hell broke loose and just couldn't change it)
  19. Best wishes really hope something can get resolved
  20. Obviously a great seller with a high level of customer service honesty & integrity.... How did the seller test the gun prior to shipping if battery was f*cked ??? Witnesses - are these normally used when a version of events is being brought into question ie - to try and justify the truth and not a lie ??
  21. I wouldn't hold ya breath too much.... Deffo sounds like compression or seal issue still.... Even if gun cycled at 1 shot per second It would still fire at 350fps when piston releases
  22. I think the main deciding factor though is: crimped 9mm blanks are a LOT easier to pick up/install with gloves on than tichy - "damn it wtf did that go" 6mm/203 primers out in the field just seems less fumbling with gloves on to reload a BFG 9mm might be a bit louder but unless you are Mutton Geoff - you know ya got owned an adapter can knocked up using a bit of imperial metal tubing tbh (forgot exact sizes but is cheap as chips to do - something a bit bigger than an thick old $hite inner barrel about 20 to 25mm in length) plop it in, bob's ya uncle - primer adapter for next to nothing & fill/blow ya boots with both types
  23. 9mm blanks are much more costly than shotgun primers 9mm blanks may cost about £17:50 for 50 also be careful some 9mm blanks for pistols may not detonate 101% correctly in BFG's I bought these a while back: https://www.justbbguns.co.uk/product/534/FLASHBANG-GRENADES/515/OH-SHI-BOOM/2544/9MM-BLANK-AMMO but they are out of stock and there are longer & different blanks that Fiocchi make these might work ok but not tried them myself so don't flame me: https://www.justbbguns.co.uk/product/534/FLASHBANG-GRENADES/515/OH-SHI-BOOM/3412/SP-KNALL-380-9MM-BLANKS shotgun primers cost about £7:50 for 100 - that is getting on for a 1/5th of price https://jdairsoft.net/trmr-primers-shotshell-100pcs so see if your BFG has a 9mm to .209 shotgun primer adapter
  24. well the hop unit might not be fixed correctly and is sitting a little forward I dunno coz ain't got one but think they are the "other" non TM type of AK but should use the bog standard AK hop units here is a comparison of LCT & E&L AK's and they have different but compatible hops http://www.team-black-sheep.com/which-ak-is-better-the-lct-or-el/ it might be that the hop unit itself is the issue - soz yet more crap to check but it may be sitting too far away from gearbox/nozzle due to an unknown issue ??? some weird issue why nozzle is not pushing the bb fully foward and sealing against bucking I would do some googling on E&L reviews/teardowns or asking some clever mofo who has E&L make close comparisons with your E&L - coz something ain't right for nozzle to be 3 or 4mm short bloody weird one this
