The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Mr Monkey Nuts replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
A box of bits from Taiwangun, INCLUDING A HARD RETENTION HOLSTER THAT FITS THE TM GLOCK Halelluja! It has oOnly a year looking for one and nearly losing it three times. And stupidly they have been available for soooo long. The standard ACM serpa clones just need a few minuted in the oven to soften up, then slide the glock in and leave it overnight to cool and it fits like a glove. -
Was he screaming the obligatory "take yer fookin hits" at the other players? we had similar at a site two fully grown men squaring up to each other over not taking hit hits, till someone pointed out he had no mag in. Things quickly dispersed amongst a sea of tuts and laughter and "Mr No Mag" went home fairly sharpish. He is often still mentioned at breifings.

I have CQB'd with both 18inch m4 and 10inch m4 and in reality if you use it properly it doesn't make that much real world difference unless you are in the very tightest of tight corridors. The biggest benefit is weight savings. Obviously your money is your money and if you would like a shorty then by all means go for it, however dont automatically presume or be pressured by t'internet hearsay that cqb must be sub 10inch.

Taking a two-tone to woodland
Mr Monkey Nuts replied to RebalanceTechnology's topic in General Discussion
If he told you he would have to kill you! Something to do with mismatched camo being ultra l33t and instant SF operator. But in all seriousness those in the know, will tell you it's not the colour of your camo but how you use it that makes it work. Although it's mostly a moot point what colour it is, because almost none of it works at Airsoft ranges. -
The 'What have you just bought' Thread

So my new TRMR Multishot Base arrived. Much excite! Like the TRMR grenade it's pretty much perfection in simplicity, design and finish. It uses the original TRMR mechanism with the new lower having a twisting breech holding three .209 primers, at an offset so on each turn one is always centred under the firing pin. It's made from the same high quality CNC alloy and is reassuringly heavy weighing in at 450g all together. Really simple and effective design bang, twist, bang and so forth.... No fidly plunger pin, resetting, safety slot and minimal moving parts. The original two rows of outlets to allow the gasses to expand and amplify the bang. Thereis now a single row of holes, but it does seem to have a large chamber inside the twisting part which I expect will resonate the bang. I haven't yet taken it outside to test them, I don't think the chickens will appreciate it none too much. I will try piece together a quick YouTube vid next game day. And it's only £30 .... BOOM! -
Yes they are both on narrow and they do the same on wide, they do it upto 500m apart too. I believe its something called transmission radiation and I need to adjust the frequency offset, but they are just words, I have no clue how to practicably do that. lesson for yall kids, Baofengs .... stick to argos value PMR446, its not worth the agro.

Excellent, that's exactly what I wanted to hear. Thanks

Any had any experience? What's the quality like? I'm looking at their jackets, uk tactical seem to be having a bit of a sale on. Is it overpriced ACM or half decent stuff?

Hang on a moment can you state the specific legislation that states a private business MUST safeguard children? If that's the case then surely every sweet shop , tesco, bus company, bike shop, council gardener and every normal skirmish site would be required to DBS their staff and marshals? Yes it's a very good idea to and in the wake of sir jimmy, but to what extent is it it legislated?

Righto, two transceivers both Baofeng, one a 888s and one a UV5R. Both programmed via CHIRP to the standard 8 UK PMR 446 Channels. Both transmit and receive on the correct channels, however the 888s will overlap onto the next channel. For example if i'm using C5 on the UV5r I can transmit to it from both C4 and C5 from the 888. Any ideas or suggestions? Attached are my settings, feel free to make any constructive comments, I feel a bit out of my depth with all this. Likes as a reward xx

Why would anyone wanting to run a DMR chose to lose full auto but only gain 10fps? that's ridiculous!

So how are we compressing the c02? That hardware can't be cheap.

Mk5 thunder flash, cheaper, easier to strike and reload, no pins or parts to lose and you won't go home crying when it lands in a bog / pond / bush / scrotes pocket never to be seen again. The SWAT can be bought with 50 9mm blanks for £125 to your door from LWA For the same price you can get 65 Mk5s delivered from Airsoft world. Yes the next 50 shots will only cost you £30, BUT thats a big assumption that in the first 50 throws you haven't lost it, its not been stolen, you haven't lost the reload pin and it doesn't break. Plus you cant put the value on the ability to properly throw a thunderflash and the feeling of vulnerable terror when you enemy hears the ominous hiss.

It takes a standard aeg barrel, but gbb hop up rubber. At the end of the day It's all a bit moot really because the extension from 96mm to 200mm+ will make no difference to accuracy and push the FPS way too high. It's a pistol, it's accuracy is dictated by your skill, not it's components.

Sounds an awful lot like conjecture that, may we see this "mechanics review" please?

+1 what Mack said.

Then you realise you are playing against a team of equally seasoned trolls from zeroin, who have had the same l33tist ideas; while jambow sits back counting all his moolah! -

Blue Force Gear Ten Speed Durability?
Mr Monkey Nuts replied to Mr Monkey Nuts's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Do you ever accidently knock the gas valve with them? It will be used with my G5 mags. -
So you want us to develop your core product, your USP, and a marketing plan? Whats my cut?
-
I have been hearing mixed reviews, I can't find anyone on youtube or T'internet who is verified as having them saying they are poor quality, rip, fray and tear too easily, however I have read lots of comments on forums from people saying they do, but very few admit to actually having them, more a friend of a friends uncle who works with a guy who's son went to irakistan, type of comments. So ... simple question, whats their durability like? have you seen any? have you used any? I'm torn between a Triple Ten Speed or holding out for the Warrior HSGI clone fast mags to come back into stock.

Radio, frequencies, power and the law
Mr Monkey Nuts replied to BrightCandle's topic in General Discussion
You are paying for the right to access a specific set of frequencies and use a transceiver with an output greater than 0.5w. Those frequencies are not specific or exclusive to you and are shared with many other mostly professional users, so there is a huge potential for crossing over with legitimate professional radio users, such as shopping centres, hospitals, security, taxi firms etc. In my opinion and specifically for airsoft, they offer no more benefit than the standard PMR446 channels, just you may legally use a higher power output. PMR offer you a defined standard set of channels than everyone can simply access with very cheap equipment, and the reality is that at airsoft ranges, you are rarely going to be sprawling huge distances that 0.5w become ineffective, even in dense woodland. If you do find yourself outranging .5w its likely to be at a big organised event, where the chances are the requirement for a wider radio net, will already be handle by someone who legitimately knows what they are doing. The more complex you make it, the more chance you have of pissing people off. Unintentionally dropping in on a command level channel to tell your teammates there is a sniper in a tree, is not good drills. From what you have said you need, I would recommend a simple cheap PMR446 set (Clicky) If you do eventually find yourself needing access to more bespoke frequencies a UV5r will do everything you need and a lot more. Always remember the KISS principle, (google it) -

I bought a ProWin hop up, £23 and it turned my 250fps dribbling mess of an gun into a 310fps laser shooter. I'm genuinely gobsmacked at how good this thing is, I thought it was all hype, but it's certainly got a little sprinkle of magic in it. -
