  1. I went alone my first game with a cheap trishot, a pocket full of shells and a well worn pair of dpm trousers. Suffice to say I was shown many times why even though shotguns are awesome you will be cut down more often than not haha Tips for first game: 1. Hydration! You will be running around (hopefully) so you will get dehydrated. Take a large bottle of water with you and leave it in the safe zone. 2. Call your hits! It's a game of trust. If you cheat you'll be labelled as such and possibly banned from future events at that site. If in doubt, call yourself out. 3. Take what you need. Yeah it's fun to roll up in full combat gear like some dudes, but for a first game (with no UKARA) you will only need a rifle, some BBs, face protection and sturdy boots. 4. Rent your gun till you get UKARA sorted. Self explanatory really. You won't be allowed a shiny black toy till you've met the UKARA criteria. 5. Talk to people. Great ice breaker is to ask about their weapons - everyone likes to show off. 6. Read Ian's excellent guide: http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/17294-ians-guide-to-noobism-on-a-tight-budget/ Above all enjoy yourself and have fun P.s. Welcome to the site mate
  2. Here's my current CQB loadout till I finish my impression loadouts: Head to toe: Fast helmet in Dark Tan Smith Optics Elite Boogie Regulator goggles with Ignitor lenses Buff neckscarf Desert DPM jacket and trousers Blue Force Gear chest rig RAP4 Armoured Fingerless gloves Cheap belt and drop leg holster Condor dump pouch Anvil MTB Knee Pad Magnum boots (not shown as they need cleaning) Weapons shown in pics are my TM High Cycle AUG and TM M19 revolver

  4. Internets and hard learned experience really (I.e. I found out what not to do again after it went wrong haha)
  5. Zombie nights will be amazing if that's the case
  6. Czech bandanna (olive drab) and a Czech M60 backpack to finish off my early 70s Czechoslovakian loadout (pics to be added when it arrives). Russian water (vodka) canteen and vest (blue striped) as a continuation of my mid 80s Russian vdv loadout. All from epic militaria
  7. Sweet, I'm sad to see the embassy go (also my regular site) but this looks like an epic replacement
  8. Depends on the situation: in CQB they're brilliant as the smaller engagement ranges make the "issue" of having a low fps somewhat obsolete. In woodlands though you will struggle against most other weapon systems. Obviously as just a side arm it works consistently when you need it and it's not as heavy as most gbb/nbb pistols. On the plus side high cap mags are very cheap for these as are batteries. I have an asg/cyma glock for sale if you're interested in them.
  9. I ended up taking it off and running it as a two point sling when I had one
  10. Welcome to the site mate
  11. Some decent m4 "starter rifles" that are in your price range once you get UKARA sorted: http://www.fire-support.co.uk/product/ics-plastic-m4a1-retractable-stock-airsoft-gun-aeg http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?cPath=268_318_403_494&products_id=5645 These are generally the "go to" beginner rifles that most people on this site will recommend. Obviously a bigger budget will lead to better quality guns but you'll hold your own at skirmishes with either of these.
  12. Depends on the sites you go to as it has a two stage trigger. Some sites won't allow it if they're semi only (CQB) since you can accidentally pull too far. I don't think there's a way of getting a trigger block installed either that regulates semi only or two stage fire modes like the higher end TM AUGs do. Other than that they're okay but you can get a decent AK or m4 since the asg aug is just a rebrand of the jg I think. If you can give us an idea on the style of gun you like I think we could recommend some good starters, but you'll generally get recommended src for g36c rifles, cyma for aks and ICS or G&G for m4
  13. Welcome to the forums mate I second the request for pics haha
  14. Sell that in black and I'd buy it Then I'd build/modify a box mag and have some unholy mini lmg goodness
  15. Depending on the quality of the metal/plastic it's made out of it may be easier to replace it as some materials don't react well to paint (mostly cheaper ABS plastics). Test a part first if you do paint it that is easily concealed if it goes wrong (I found this out the hard way).
  16. If it has a camera I'd say it's a valid target It is fun when sites add these little touches
  17. Some new name patches in tan colouring to go with my CQB loadout.
  18. You can also buy sights with the claw mounts installed for g3 models or mp5s if you want to save yourself a bit of cash. Like this: http://www.ebairsoft.com/scope-built-mount-p-1342.html
  19. Thank the gods that stories like this a few and far between in the UK, seems to be every other week it happens in America
  20. I've tried many holsters trying to find a fit for my 6" TM M19 and the best I've found is this style mounted to a belt: http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?products_id=8270 Revolvers are bit too heavy for most shoulder style holsters - mine kept slipping out - unless you look into the real steel holsters.
  21. Welcome to the forum mate
  22. I was always under the impression that it was a loadout you couldn't tell the difference between it and the real uniform apart from it being an airsoft gun
  23. Preferably the aforementioned fluorescent pink - just to be safe
