  1. The problem is that Taiwangun don't 2 tone so that SVD is no use. Landwarrior have it on special http://www.landwarriorairsoft.com/airsoft-weapons-c38/sniper-rifles-c47/asg-asg-dragunov-svd-spring-rifle-3-spare-magazines-p3747 but they charge for 2 toning.
  2. I have heard of a good springer M1, but no-one has ever sold it in the UK. http://www.evike.com/products/44598/ Evike will 2 tone though.
  3. I am also a big fan of the Sten It's not the best gun in the world or anything but it did the job and was so simple to construct. It's pretty much the embodiment of British ingenuity. If your army loses all it's equipment in France, the Sten is the perfect sub machinegun to replace lost gear quickly. It's also a perfect weapon for resistance fighters due to it's simplicity and ability to use the same ammo as an MP40.
  4. Have to agree with the SMLE. Theres just something about having all that wood and steel. The way that the front of the rifle doesn't taper to just the barrel at the end like the K98 and other rifles of the era, just makes it look more rugged and the bolt it just so much easier to work than most rifles. The Bayonet for it just adds a huge fear factor I can't wait 'til May when I can get replacement mags so Matilda can shoot again.
  5. If I use my MP5, I have begadi pouches and yes, the elastic isn't needed to keep the mags in. I just use it to tell which mags have been used already.
  6. Begadi does some nice open top MP5 pouches. http://www.actionhobbies.co.uk/searchresults.aspx?searchterm=begadi%20mp5
  7. Welcome. A useful site for basics is http://www.britishmilitarysurplus.co.uk/shop/special-offers.html Their deal of £25 for shirt, smock and trousers is a good way to get some camo gear and they do some nice cheap boots. Don't forget to get gloves a scarf (scrim scarf or shemagh) and a hat as hands, head and neck are the places it hurts most if you get shot.
  8. Is it wrong that I find this hilarious? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-29944507

    1. Chock

      Chock

Yes, but then again, I do too. What sort of a dipstick doesn't check a munition they are about to demonstrate to see if it is inert? I used to think it was a bit over the top that Claymores had 'front toward enemy' on them, but when retards like that are around, you know why

Why would you think a dummy pepper spray that looks like the real thing would be a good idea? Why would you demonstrate it by pointing it at 4yr olds? How do you manage to get 8 4yr olds in the face before realising that you're using real pepper spray? Why was no-one filming this for Youtube?

  9. My Xmas bonus is going to hopefully pay for one of these: An airsoft Owen gun. I have someone making me one out of an ASG Sten. It will be a one of a kind airsoft gun
  10. Nerf rockets are fin stabilised, TAG rounds are explosives. If you combine the 2 you are making a device capable of firing a fin stabilised explosive. This may well be safe enough but it is unfortunately rather illegal.

    Fuses

If you just bought it, maybe best to give the shop you bought it from a call. They will know what fuse and then if it keeps blowing the fuse, you've given them a heads up before sending it back as faulty.
  12. I'd like an airsoft Bren and to have one of these to mount it in:
  13. You asked for the Bestest Gnu. noun, plural gnus (especially collectively) gnu. 1. either of two stocky, oxlike antelopes of the genus Connochaetes, thesilver-gray, white-bearded C. taurinus of the eastern African plain andthe black, white-tailed C. gnou of central South Africa: recently nearextinction, the South African gnu is now protected. Also called wildebeest.
  14. The law is a grey area. I would say that no, one skirmish doesn't prove a defence. I'm sure that if you did remove 2 tone, no-one would bat an eyelash though. I personally removed the 2 tone from my 1st gun after 3 games. I was going every week at the time so it was a while before I got UKARA sorted.
  15. Webbing is always an option. No-one ever listens when I tell people this though Webbing is basically a belt with shoulder straps and pouches that attach. It allows a fair degree of customisation. Tactical vests tend to allow faster access to stuff but in hot weather, webbing will not make you as hot. Webbing will generally hold a lot more than a tactical vest can. Some people have difficulty in adjusting webbing for a perfect fit and will tell you that it rubs and is uncomfortable but especially on hot days, I find my P37 webbing to be so comfy, I forget I'm wearing it.
  16. Tbh, there is plenty you can customise on a G36. The Gen 3 SRC G36's have a good reputation and are probably equal to a G&G combat machine. Go for the one you think looks best. I would personally go for the G36 but only because everyone else would go for an M4 and it's nice to have a bit of variety
  17. Shooting airsoft guns on private land is fine. The only issues are whether it is possible for members of the public to see the gun being used and misinterpret and safety issues. Hopefully your son and his friends are wearing eye protection? At 15, I would recommend that you get him going to play at an airsoft site. He will probably enjoy it more and it will be safer. As has been said, an electric gun is a far better starter gun than a single shot sniper rifle. Look at www.airsoftmap.net/skirmish/ for airsoft sites near you. Check any age restrictions, most sites are fine with 15yr olds, especially if there's an adult with them.
  18. SRC are reputed to make a good G36. All their other guns are to be avoided but they somehow got their G36's right. JG are also quite good, which is why they are popular as hire guns.
  19. Yes, and that offense requires that it be proven that the speed you are doing is unsafe, not just that you are going faster than the limit. It's not therefore possible to issue an on the spot fine.
  20. Lol, I can see a lot of very unhappy other halves when they discover the reason for the Valentines weekend away You may have to save up so you can afford to dump them in a spa for the day AND afford to buy all the goodies you see
  21. If only someone made a Mk19 GL, those TAG rounds would be epic (and insanely expensive) in something like this
  22. At this time of year, keep an open mind and look out for bargains. Just before Xmas, there will be deals about. Last year I got a CA MP5 for £85 from JDairsoft in their pre Xmas sale. Then Landwarrior had half price Stens in January. Theres no telling what offers will be available this year or who will be doing offers so keep an eye out for the spot a bargain thread
  23. Although they may not be novels by definition, I personally think that there are enough amazing stories about things that actually happened during wars for military fiction to be a fairly pointless thing to read. Why not have the entertaining read and educate yourself at the same time? Another good book is Vulcan 607 by Rowland White It's the story of the 1st Vulcan Bomber raid on Port Stanley during the Falklands war. It's a fascinating story covering all the planning and preparations for the raid and all the logistics of the refuelling plan needed to fly such a ridiculous distance.
  24. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Men-Who-Came-Out-Ground/dp/0733628184 Hard book to get hold of at a decent price as it is only published in Australia, so maybe one to get on Kindle. It's a fascinating story about a little bit of WW2 that hardly anyone has heard of. Basically Australia invaded East Timor which was a Portuguese colony and therefore neutral. When the Japanese invaded Timor, one Company of Australian commandos held out for a year, tying up something like 200,000 Japanese troops. They were assumed to have been captured soon after the invasion as they had no radio capable of contacting Australia, so they built one out of parts they had to steal. It may seem like an unimportant part of the war, until you realise that those 200,000 Japanese would otherwise have been available for use in Guadalcanal or New Guinea. It also puts into perspective everything that happened to East Timor after WW2; Australia not opposing Indonesian invasion etc.
