  1. You've confirmed what I thought, but that's a bummer about the Tippmann. I was planning to suppress mine when I get one Not sure now if I'll get that, an ERG or GBBR Masada though...anyway different story
  2. Looks like MOE handguard rails will fit it. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/20mm-RIS-Polymer-Rail-Section-Set-for-Magpul-MOE-PTS-Handguard-4-Pcs-Black-Rails-/191543909582?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2c98e81cce
  3. There are a lot of differences between the US and UK Minimis. There was a thread on a conversion somewhere...
  4. Tbh Monty I think you're wrong there. Noise from a GBBR isn't going to be reduced much either from what I've heard. They're only good at effectively suppressing noise on HPA guns.
  5. So are you looking for internal upgrades, or just external parts like the rail system, since you mentioned AirsoftEd's gun? As Duck said I think I'd just leave it because performance should be good already, if not fix whatever is wrong then when it happens. Never do any internal work before myself, even though I wouldn't really consider myself a noob I have been really bad at looking after mine - reluctant to do it thinking I would break them. If you really wanted to improve it, would send it to local tech / retailer to do the work. Would say get a TBB, new hop up and bucking. Madbull 6.03 TBB 509mm could be bought for around £33, hop up for example a ProWin but I'm not sure which type the L85 takes...make £20 depending on if you want it from a UK or Asia store. There are loads of brands of hop up buckings but Tokyo Marui, G&G, Lonex or a 'Prommy Purple' (http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/prometheus-air-seal-chamber-hop-up-packing-soft-type.html#.VWsC6M9VhBd) are all good. External upgrades for an Afghan-spec A2 would be the Daniel Defense RIS ~ £100 for a Madbull version or can probably even get a real steel one for that, seen em go for less in fact. A Grip-Pod, airsoft clones are about £10. Magpul style rail ladder covers, again about £10. 4x32 Trijicon ACOG (not sure of the exact model) anywhere from £40, and a Docter RDS / Elcan Specter DR. You also need a specific riser for the former, but I don't know the name of it. LLM-01 Replica 'Vortex' Flash Hider? E-MAGs I think G&G and ICS both sell Picatinny rails for the L85A2 as well to replace the standard Dovetail one.
  6. Firstly it's not a licence, but a defence. It's common misinformation, seems to have been passed around by the bad retailers (i.e. 'BB guns for 'x' or 'x' BB guns etc) But yeah you need to do three games within a year and not in under 2 months. Easiest to do all three at the same site then they know you and you can fill in the form to get it at the third one. 1) As many as you want I guess, never seen rules against it. But every gun you are going to use must be chrono'd at start of the day, so that they are known to be shooting within appropriate velocity limits. So if you turned up with like 10 then I imagine they would say no to doing them all but I can't imagine anyone brings over 4 each. 2) Depends on the game type, usually 'medic then dead' So if you are hit somebody may be able to run over, 'medic' you (hand on you for 10 seconds usually) and then you are back in, unless either of you were hit again during that time. Then second time you are hit it is a walk back to the nearest 'base' which is some point(s) the marshalls have designated Some scenarios you will only have one life per round so then you go to the safe zone 3) Yeah most people will have bought military clothing but a lot of people who are new will turn up in normal clothes. At an outdoor site you should get overalls to wear for the day included in the hire package. Would be a good idea to buy some military gear if you get into airsoft, most people just go for UK surplus stuff (MTP or DPM) or US M81 because it is cheap and easily available. There are brands like Helikon / Teesar / Mil-Tec / Bulle / Emerson to name just a few who also make good quality and affordable clothing. 3 / 4 ) Good footwear and eye protection is a must (if you are hiring then you will get a face mask included though)
  7. Looking to sell this sometime soon as I'll be buying a JG AUG. I understand isn't worth much -for reasons below- but cost me ~ £150 new so would like to try and get something back. Wondering how much you guys think I can get for it. Internally it's all stock, will need a good clean which I may do before selling as admittedly hasn't been maintained very well. Performance seems good and about on par with most other guns. As I said though needs to be cleaned and then will probably be a lot better. Fully polymer receiver (upper & lower) Does not have a threaded outer barrel and has an old TM style delta ring / barrel nut so that normal aftermarket parts won't fit (for example the MOE handguard I'm including - will stay on but lower section does not fully lock into place and so sticks out, will show in pics I upload later) Stock has scratched paint but I think it looks better worn. On the other side a not very noticeable attempt at Kryptek style pattern but is brown / green and hard to see. Don't want to sell it with the case or sling, however I will include: the red dot sight couple King Arms (VN Style 20 Round) magazines two metal CYMA hi-caps original nunchuck crane stock battery + charger The metal RIS with clone AFG and TDI style rail panels Steel sling plate (attached) PTS Magpul MOE Grip Not pictured: genuine PTS Magpul carbine length MOE handguard May include: 2x genuine PTS Magpul PMAGs (FDE) genuine PTS Magpul ACS Stock (BLK) G&P 'Battery Store' Foregrip (OD) Sell for ~ $20 + / seen them for £25 in the UK Understandably kind of want to keep these ^ but won't be buying another AR anyway for a while until I get a Tippmann M4 or RM4 ERG Thanks in advance
  8. Try a Lonex flash mag?
  9. For an M92? I only knew Tactical Kit sold them. You might have to go for Fobus / IMI
  10. Just should let you know I very much doubt any glasses will fit underneath the goggles. The only ones I know that work are Bolle PILOT (also called PILOPSI) which are safety goggles, and have cut outs specifically for glasses frames to fit through. I know this because my dad has to wear em and with anything else there is not enough room for glasses inside and they are pressed too tight against the face. The X-1000s will definitely stop a BB, they are Bolle Tactical so are gonna be impact resistant. In fact it says they are ballistic rated in the description. Any genuine military eye pro brand like will exceed airsoft requirements. You could also look into Heroshark stuff if his website is still working (if not try his FB page) makes his own mesh eye pro supposedly to higher standards so it is a good alternative worth considering. An FYI I'm 17 and found out at my last game that it's only under 16s that have to wear full face protection for First & Only sites, but will probably be different elsewhere.
  11. Selling my Tac Dax pants & might consider selling the Crye G3 AirFlex Knee Pads too if anyone is interested

  12. I was going to say the same thing. There aren't any others available and I don't know why either. I think it'd be great if there was. I guess because the traditional airsoft grenade launcher would basically function the same? The one that the Spanish company are making does fit on a pistol and I think they said it'll only be about 40 euros too.
  13. The £15 is interesting. Probably worth trying, as Tac said. Would be interesting to see how it compares in terms of time and quality
  14. I hardly ever see any recommendations for KWA. TM are definitely worth it, if you can afford. Externally and especially internally.
  15. Could get an A&K off TaiwanGun for ~£120 as an alternative to G&G if you're going to replace the internals with a P* setup anyway They have a stubby short barrel one (4" RIS) like the Firehawk called the P&J PJ4 NAVY I see the Tippmann M4 Carbine as a good alternative to spending loads on a PolarStar Fusion Engine, but hop up and pistol grip are proprietary (might be other things too) so not the most customisable
  16. Nah doubt it IIRC a 7.4V LiPo is equivalent to a 9.6V NiMh Gearbox upgrades should only be necessary for 11.1V LiPos / owt above 7.4 LiPo basically
  17. I think there are quite a lot of sites around Manchester so you're in luck First & Only Airsoft run a couple (called 'Manchester Woodland' and 'The Sandpit') There is Skirmish Mansfield or whatever it's called as well which I know a few people on here go to Skirmish is another word in airsoft terms for an for an airsoft battle / game day / war etc but also the name of the Mansfield site so I can see why that might have been confusing
  18. The Franchi shotgun is only for shooting stuff in your yard or whatever I've held it at the Patrol Base store and it feels very cheap. Plus it's only a single shot unlike the others which fire 3 at a time And yeah UKARA is not a licence
  19. I don't like how there's another 'JBBG-esque' retailer. I can appreciate the attempt to differentiate from them though. With the bad customer service people have received, and other practices like overpricing from such companies -not to mention actually lying and using false advertising- the majority of the proper airsoft community are gonna probably stay away especially when there are many other competitors in the market. The new players who come here we generally try to point them towards getting a quality AEG that will be a much better long term investment. I like the idea of mystery boxes but doubt demand will be high as realistically who's going to want to pay £90-£150 for a silver or gold pack and not having an idea what they're getting? IMO would be better with pricings of £20/£50/£80 dependant on quality and quantity of items, speaking of which maybe add to the description of it a bit.
  20. You don't want a spring pistol for properly playing airsoft
  21. Tac Tailor pack, SRC gun case Couple gun bags - one a Swiss Arms, the other is Kombat UK
  22. Haha just about enough and I don't even have a lot of guns I just buy too much gear aaand...just bought a coyote brown hydration tube cover as well
  23. Warrior Assault Systems NKA Patch - Tan Warrior Assault Systems Square Patch - FDE Helikon Digital Woodland Boonie, saved 99p with the discount code £9 scope from Ali Express
  24. I took the stock off mine because it was the dodgy adjustable one, replaced it with a load of washers so the pistol grip would stay in place. Turns out the thing was fucked and wouldn't work properly anyway. Really want the SPAS style one now, added advantage of being able to use with or without the stock.
  25. Yes this will be helpful but I've been trying to avoid spending on airsoft dammit Bought a Helikon MARPAT boonie
