oh, I haven't seen many bar 10's lately.

  2. My CYMA doesn't have a threaded upper. Will it go on at all? If not I'm not too bothered because it's a shit gun anyway. I will sell it as soon as I can afford a new rifle.
  3. Think I might finally give in and buy some tan gear. It looks cool and there is always tan stuff on sale and in stock.

No problem :) if you're ordering off tactical-kit.co.uk then go ahead, they're great

  4. I was looking into hydro dipping myself earlier...it ain't exactly cheap! Looks great though. I know Kinnerley had at least one of his rifles done by Camo Lab. They do pistol frames for £30 so I'd imagine they would paint a revolver grip for £15-£20? You can contact them for a quote. http://www.camolab.co.uk/pricing/ Nice work by the way Will!
  5. Well I have been looking at the Condor MOPC and WAS DCS. Tbh I always have quite a few ideas about loadouts so I am pretty indecisive and hence my plans change quite a bit.
  6. Optic Thunder and Pistol Fury I've just learnt everything from these forums and other sites. General interest in military stuffs so learn about real deal stuff and searching up maintenance tips and things like reviews on YouTube. You know you search for one thing and say it's a forum post and it leads you to more and more things. Also from Patrol Base I reckon I may have learnt a few things (mainly that I should not have bought that CYMA M4 haha)
  7. UCAP Sandpit sounds so good. Wish there was a site like that around here up North. Would be cool to do a desert loadout but there aren't even many quarries or owt up here AFAIK and people in woods wearing MTP look stupid IMO

Alas they don't allow 2tone or clear guns so have to wait for UKARA/black gun or hire a gun. Dunno if this to keep it realistic or make more money on gun hire - don't mind being an easy target for the regulars though - maybe in the summer then I can give it try

  8. In the long term, an IMAX B6 should be great. A rather expensive added cost though if you were simply considering a cheap new battery. When I finish my exams I'm probably getting one and LiPos for all my future guns and my MP5 when it's upgraded.
  9. Haven't looked it up myself but IIRC you only pay tax if 20% is over £9. Import duty is 5% but you don't have to worry about that unless you're ordering something expensive over £190 or so, say a gun for example. If you have to pay either import duty or tax I believe the shipping company / company (Parcelforce for example) charge you as well. Around £9-13. So yeah for inexpensive stuff like that you probably don't need to pay just watch out and remember there are other charges if you buy anything more costly! For example a KWA RM4 is only $380 from ehobby Asia but once you factor in shipping and other charges it's £330 or more, so the same price as buying it domestically anyway. On the other hand I could order a box of MAG MP5 magazines for £31 shipped or pay £60 including postage for the same thing from Airsoft Supply Drop. Hope this helped.
  10. It will be nowhere near worth the price. Would like to see what it is actually like though, but I've never watched Airsoft TV.
  11. If you want to reduce the velocity you can just install a new spring. An M90 spring (90 m/s) should give you around 300 FPS.
  12. Lipos are probably best to use. A lot of guys like to use them because you will see a rate of fire and trigger response increase. A 7.4V lipo is like having a 9.6 NiMh in terms of voltage. However, you have to use a LiPo charger. From what I have heard most people recommend you buy one of the more expensive chargers. Personally I want to upgrade to LiPos for my guns too but I haven't done it yet. I can't remember what the problem is with using the cheaper chargers.
  13. Changing the spring isn't too hard to do yourself, especially if it's got a quick change system. That said I think a lot of the guys on here know how reluctant I am as of yet to do any tech work on my owns guns, so I'm being a bit hypocritical here. A spring such as the Madbull M100 would cost about £16-£20 (w/out or w/ postage) and should give you around 330FPS (M100 = 100 m/s) Don't apoligise for starting all the threads, the forum is kind of quiet sometimes anyway, and besides asking questions is good and the one of the reasons for having a forum. I haven't had any personal experience with that gun but G&G generally are a good manufacturer so I would expect it is a good gun for the money.
  14. I hate airsoft DMRs. They're just normal AEGs internally and you have to do a load of upgrades to get it any good. As you can see from this thread here: http://www.airsoftsniperforum.com/43-longrange-aegs/892-holy-grail-building-your-dmr-aeg.html
  15. You need a LiPo charger though as well I think. Normal NiMh charger won't work AFAIK.Need to do the same for my gun too! Thinking of new stock and getting a lipo battery.
  16. You would need a Li-Po battery to fit in the buffer tube or if you got a crane stock a nunchuk style battery.
  17. Well there's the Magpul rifle stock? It's designed as a replacement for the standard A2 fixed stock like yours. Otherwise you're going to need a buffer tube for fitting a collapsible stock (e.g. Magpul ACS / CTR / LE or crane stock)
  18. I've always found trigger discipline and weapon handling stuff kind of obvious and natural to do. For example your grip on a pistol should be as high up on the frame as possible but sometimes you see people holding it like half way and it looks retarded, not to mention completely impractical and probably uncomfortable. I don't know why you would do that. Reminds me of that kid on one of scoutthedoggie's videos with an MP5 and was holding the grip with his left hand and the stock with his right or something. Like Nickona said it's just a bad attitude / not good practice to have your finger on the trigger. We could all say 'oh well we're not stupid enough to have it loaded' etc but obviously we do it for a reason anyway. Nothing bad is likely to happen but it could so you should be careful and responsible, even if it is just a replica it's still capable of firing a pellet and regardless of where it hits someone it's still not supposed to be discharged in the safe zone or whatever. He's got eye pro on and he's at home and everything so it's fine really.
  19. Thanks for the link! For what it is though, I'd rather just buy a plate carrier or get a new chest rig or some pouches. Not to say Blue Force Gear isn't really good, but I was looking at spending more like £20 and not £40-£50
  20. You may have seen I started a project to make one of these a while back, although that project is currently on hold. It wouldn't work too well with a normal style AR-15 USGI magazine. I'll probably try to re-start the project when I buy a KWA RM4 and make a bandolier for my ERG mags. Speaking of which, it REALLY annoys me there is a next to no materials available in the UK! I know there are a few manufacturers producing some fabrics as well as a few shops selling hardware, yet this is absolute sh*t when compared to the stock in the US. I know it's a bit stupid comparing the United Kingdom to the United States, but nevertheless it's disappointing when there seems to be nowhere to buy this kind of stuff. I suppose there's just not the same market for whatever the word it is for producing gear / clothing. It seems to be the same for DIY. I don't know much, but unlike America where they can go to Lowes / Home Depot etc, there is comparatively f*ck all in Homebase / Wickes / B&Q / trade wholesalers or smaller independent businesses AFAIK where you can easily buy miscellaneous parts or PVC pipe. We can't even buy springs without having them custom made (I was told that by a guy who owns a shop supplying nuts / bolts / screws / springs and all hardware / fixings like that) FYI, my dad is also fairly knowledgeable when it comes to this sort of stuff and he agrees with me on this. Sorry about the rant. I haven't found this bandolier on sale anywhere in the UK, and after checking Grey Ghost Gear's website, it's $45 shipping! (£44 or so in total including shipping then, for something worth under £20) I was wondering if anybody has by any chance seen it or a similar alternatively. In terms of MOLLE bandoliers, there was the BLACKHAWK STRIKE one on Tactical Kit for £30. It's sold out and I'm not sure if they're going to re-stock it. Your opinion of bandoliers in general (for airsoft) etc would be interesting to hear too. ^ Guy made his own, very similar to my idea.
  21. I've got a few quick loadout questions on my mind. Originally I was considering a USMC style loadout since I was going to buy MARPAT, although I'm now not too sure about doing this for a couple of reasons. WARNING - I DON'T KNOW ABOUT WHAT YOU THINK BUT TBH I RECKON I WROTE THIS KIND OF QUICKLY / SEEMS LIKE A WALL OF TEXT / SEMI-RANT / OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD. Hope you understand. Sorry in advance. It's late and I'm taking a quick break from revision. Firstly, I'm not exactly a hardcore mil-sim enthusiast, I had no intention of buying anything that's the real deal, and I know the loadout would never been completely accurate anyway. Secondly, I've discovered I'd rather not buy any coyote brown gear as you're quite limited in terms of plate carriers. I don't think CB would really work with any other loadout, plus you're limited to a specific plate carrier such as the MTV if trying to do something US Marines style. So I think you can see from what I've put above is that I'm no longer really interested in doing anything too realistic. I'm considering sticking with MARPAT / Digital Woodland BDUs (MCCUU) but getting OD stuff. To be specific, a Condor MOPC in OD and Flyye or Condor drop leg magazine pouch. I guess I just wanted to know your opinions on this... Thing is I'm also really liking the looking of Polish Woodland. Especially on the Helikon Patriot Fleece. If I'm spending £50 I'd rather get it in OD though, so I can use casually as well as for airsoft use. Removed the thing about the bandolier - I should make a seperate post for that.
