  1. Electronic blowback can cause problems with the gearbox as it breaks. G&G blowback is pneumatic which means there is no danger of this happening, but the bolt just moves a little bit. It's kinda pathetic in comparison to an EBB AK. Still an alright feature but it shouldn't be a major factor to influence your decision on which gun to buy.
  2. I just buy em cos they're 50p and looks a bit tactical. Can be actually useful for identification too, as you said
  3. Combat Machine M4s are excellent for their price so I'd expect the AK series is also pretty good. I know Airsoft Ed has one.
  4. Warrior Assault Systems Smoke Grenade Pouch (MC, 1st Gen) - £6.95 Buying one before they sell out but it won't go with my loadout for a while (since I don't have a Multicam chest rig yet, and I need to save my money so I won't be getting one soon)
  5. 57 more posts to go until I hit 1000 :D :0

  6. When you say tactical vest, I'm assuming you mean it's something like this? The Mayflower APC on the other hand is a plate carrier. As far as I know they're one of the best brands for real steel / mil-spec kit but the quality is certainly reflected in the price. I haven't seen anything Mayflower sold in the UK before. If you wanted to import one it would cost a lot in tax and import duty etc. If you're looking for good quality gear like the Mayflower that is made by those kind of companies (i.e. not replica airsoft stuff) Tactical Kit is my favourite site to look for it. UK Tactical is also very good but doesn't have as much of a selection (as in there are less different companies rather than the number of products) However, UK Tactical do exclusively stock Warrior Assault Systems gear (they have sales on all the time as well) http://uktactical.com/c-54-warrior-assault-systems.aspx It's a UK company with the stuff made in Vietnam IIRC. Their DCS plate carrier is brilliant and everyone says how good they are. Similar to how everyone recommends the G&G Combat Machine when someone's looking for their first AEG. Warrior pouches are really good quality too, as you'd expect. Of course, there are loads of other options for pouches as well though. They have bungee / paracord retention with pull tabs rather than velcro flaps so they're faster, quieter and easier to use http://uktactical.com/c-328-elite-ops-mag-pouches.aspx Hope this helps and welcome to the forum by the way.
  7. FYI there's a thread for quick questions btw
  8. Those were my thoughts exactly. Good idea there mate, I will have to give it a go myself if I can find some foam. I see what you mean with the Hitler mask haha
  9. Yeah heard bad things about G&G mags unfortunately. How about those quite new Airsoft Systems 85Rnd mags? I want to get some myself but waiting for Jonathan (from the Airsoftology YouTube channel) to do a review. They're only £30 for a five pack and seem pretty good. There's also MAG magazines, like 8 for £55 or so and they're good (one downside is if you drop em or whack em hard, the spring releases very easily and you can lose all the rounds, still nice quality though)
  10. I'd buy an AK or something rather than two ARs. You've already got a good G&G, there's no point spending your money on another similar gun IMO. At least if you want another how about save up for something like a KWA RM4 ERG? I couldn't really give me own opinion on the gun because I've never used it, but like you I have seen a lot of positive reviews.
  11. Hey guys I'd like to know your thoughts on these: http://www.ebairsoft.com/cordura-half-face-mask-multicam-p-4159.html Basically has anybody used one, are they any good and so on. One concern is that airflow might not be good, since there isn't any ventilation. Looking for something that would preferably work well with a lot of different goggles / glasses because I don't like the uncomfortable mesh face pro which doesn't work with my eye pro.
  12. You could take a look at Warrior Assault Systems. Much better than Condor! The DCS and RICAS PCs are actually cheaper too! http://uktactical.com/c-163-elite-ops-mulcam-main.aspx Still a lot of money but all really good quality materials. There's also the Grey Ghost Gear Minimalist PC for £100. Below that maybe a Flyye FAPC (Fast Action Plate Carrier) They're ~ £70 Then Emerson / TMC / cheaper Condor ones for the cheaper end? Not mil-spec, but should still last since it's just airsoft and they won't be seeing too much use. The Emerson / TMCs you could buy from China too so even less expensive. For example a Multicam TMC JPC: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/1000D-Airsoft-Emerson-JPC-Tactical-Vest-Simplified-Version-Multicam-Tactical-Vest-Army-Combat-Gear/1389801442.html Hope this helps
  13. I think Airsoft World sold the AY M1918 BAR but didn't see anything else by AY. 1) haven't bought from them. There is already a thread on Tiger111hk in the Places to Buy section!! Gone down hill recently unfortunately (IIRC) 2)Costs depend on price of the gun. Also customs sometimes like to charge based on the total price (so including shipping) You need to pay tax, import duty (5%) and usually a courier / shipping company fee on top of that (£15 I think tops, can be less) The reason you don't usually need to pay any extra charges ordering things from outside the EU is because you only need to pay tax and import duty / shipping charge at around £50 and £100 respectively. 3rd) pretty sure safety certifications and things are only going to apply to the manufacturer, and potentially the retailer. I know one airsoft company I believe G&G started putting CE markings on their receivers but didn't previously. 4) If you UKARA number is ont box it should be okay. I also like to ask them to write the phone number on the box because customs might want to contact you. Although when I ordered from Poland and asked them to do this (writing in both English and translated to Polish, probably very badly because Google) they didn't bother. I've been weary of ordering RIFs from abroad recently due to the heightened security level but I don't know if that really would affect importing an airsoft gun unless customs are being really stupid.
  14. Yeah I think so, that sounds right. I've put two drops in the rectangle thing on my mag and one on the valve at the back of the mag. I think I remember he pulled back the rectangle gas router thingy (the one in the slide) and then put a drop sort of behind it (towards the back of the gun) not sure if this was right though. In the manual for the P226 it shows putting one in the gas router on the mag.
  15. This might help: http://www.airsoftmap.net/Skirmish/ I've heard of RIFT before and I think it's supposed to be good.
  16. Can't decide between a coyote brown or Crye Multicam Tactical Tailor Mini MAV! Or if I should get an Emerson FAST Helmet first? They're both £33, but new chest rig would need pouches too (another £30 for what I want)

I think I'll go for the MC :) Still not confident about buying from Ali-Express (where I can get the helmet cheap) even though I've heard it's secure and everything

Or another option is a Warrior Sabre drop leg rig for £55 (couple quid cheaper than a TT Mini Mav & triple magazine shingle)

The mc is only mc on the panel, which will be covered with pouches anyway, the straps are simple cb iirc. I bought a surefire clone torch from Ali express and it was pretty good.

  17. Went to Patrol Base today... My dad bought this WE P226 WE Premium Green Gas Abbey Maintenance Gas Abbey Silicone Oil 35ml Patrol Base Hard Case Small Pistol Case Also saw one of those Kombat fleeces (don't think they're sold on their website) and they look good so eagerly awaiting mine and the Emerson G3s Stuck the eHobby Asia 10th Anniversary sticker on the small case
  18. I can help a bit, went Patrol Base about an hour ago and they showed us. You'll want a bottle of silicone oil like this: http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/gas-and-lubrication/abbey-silicone-gun-oil-35.htm#.VEAQmvldXWg Also bought some of this, use after the skirmish day but it says on the website after every ten magazines: http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/gas-and-lubrication/abbey-predator-maintenance-gas-144a-20ml.htm#.VEAQ2_ldXWg Couple drops on the gas router and valve of the mag before shooting. Also some oil on the slide and firing mechanism. Finally, always leave a bit of gas inside, otherwise the seals will dry out.
  19. I don't know if anyone's going, but there was a thread a while back about people's favourite places to play outside the UK. Berget was definitely a popular one. I'd love to go sometime in the future, I love Sweden
  20. Nowt in school, only being taught politics cause I took it in college. Had an interest before though obvs so I do know, but a lot of people won't or just don't give a fuck so some education should be done in schools! Dunno about back int day but nowadays you don't really learn any actual useful life skill sort of things. Again only learning about finances and things like that because I took it as something to do at college.
  21. Yeah don't think they'd be allowed. I'd just buy an Anglesight replica for £20 from China rather than spend hundreds on this. I don't think Anglesights are allowed either though which is a shame (after all you are still looking around the corner, just through the optic, then again it does give you quite an advantage)
  22. my Emerson G3s should be here today or tommorow as well I think. Ordering a Pentagon cap and a couple Warrior UK flag patches later.
  23. Isn't it illegal to refill propane or something? Coleman should work fine, I see people at Halo Mill use it a lot and it's probably with one of these adapters. http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/gas-and-lubrication/airosft-innovations-propane-adaptor-kit.htm#.VD8DW_ldXWg http://www.patrolbase.co.uk/gas-and-lubrication/madbull-propane-adapter.htm#.VD8DXfldXWg Propane is just green gas without lubricant, so it will be fine to run it on propane, but you will need to remember to add silicone regularly. I think it's two / three drops for every two or three mags, but I'm not sure on that. Lastly I think flashlights would be more useful on a pistol. I've never seen anybody run a laser on a sidearm but plenty with a torch. Blinding your enemy up close is very useful.
