Good point. That is assuming he's setting up using the software on PC or phone and not just bolting it in and hoping for the best.

What is the purpose of the brass ring and the spring in front of the hop-up?
Lozart replied to Derei's topic in General Help
Hop rubbers will wear out from use before they crack through drying out. The only place you need to get any oil on is the OUTSIDE when you're putting it into the hop unit to help ease it in (if it's a bit tight). The main issue is that getting silicone oil INSIDE the hop rubber will screw up it's ability to properly apply spin to the BB which can result in shots going all over the place. Some folks maintain that you need to apply some silicone lube to your rubber to keep it supple, I'm not convinced. I've had airsoft guns since the original non-blowback TM Desert Eagle and the TM SPAS 12 were released back in the 90's and I can honestly say I've never needed to lube my hop rubber! Hop rubbers are a consumable item, they will wear and need replacing at some point, if a rubber is YEARS old and has sat doing nothing it may go stiff but at that point, throw it away and use a new one. Give you hop rubber a bloody good clean out with water and detergent, dry it off and see if you still have the inconsistency issues. Better yet, replace it with one that hasn't been dunked in oil. -
Yes.

Yay! I'm a bad influence!

Phone is usually best for UK Tactical, I've always had good response from them when I do. They even offered to make me a set of straps for a chest rig I'd bought second hand!
-
Not always a downside. If you can't spend hours fucking about with rearranging pouches and falling down the rabbit hole of trying to find the exact PERFECT pouch for your specific widget then you'll be able to concentrate on just, y'know, having a life.
-
OK, I have 4 in Ranger Green (on the right) which came from an Emerson Mayflower rig so the bungees are quite short, or 4 on the left in Coyote Tan which I'm fairly sure came from a Warrior chest rig. None in Multiglam though I may have more in tan, I definitely have some in grey and black but that really will look dumb. Otherwise you could get the S&S pull tab kit (if you can find it in stock) as that is about a tenner for a pack of six. Alternatively you could try giving UK Tactical a call and see if they might have some they could sell you?

They don't sell them separately. I'll have a look in my box of stuff, I may have some spare ones.

A sharp turn up or to one side? If it's truly all over the show then it could just be either crappy ammo but as you say it could well be the inconsistency. Certainly sounds like it all fits like a dick in a shirt sleeve! A better fitting hop is definitely a wise investment but it doesn't really matter what it's made of. If it fits, is stiff and consistent without the adjuster wandering in use then that's the one you want! -

I've been using loads of different chest rigs for years now. I have a couple of plate carriers too but since the only sites I frequent now tend to be woodland they've been ditched in favour of chest rigs. A molle rig is very flexible in terms of being able to work out what you want to carry and then getting a specific set of pouches for that. For example, I started out with a WAS 901 chest rig. I covered it in the standard WAS flap topped, double magazine pouches which was great because I ALWAYS had enough mags but I could also fit utility pouches to house bangs, smokes, my suppressor/tracer if I didn't need it right away etc. But it was heavy and bulky after a while. More recently I started using the Spiritus style rigs (clones but still). Yes, they're lightweight, yes they're configurable BUT they do have their limits. If you're playing short skirmish games and you're fairly sparing with your ammo then you'll be fine. If you want to carry radios, pyro, etc then you start having to add more stuff on that puts them into the realms of fixed chest rigs for size and weight. If you're out for long enough to need more than half a dozen mags (or 4 if you're using 7.62 sized gear) then you're stuffed. Plus six mags stuffed into a micro rig gets pretty bulky! I've also picked up clones of the Mayflower Gen IV and Gen V rigs and they're working well for me. Gen IV fits close to the body and I have it set up for my MK12 DMR. Four mags in the main pouches then a couple of spares in the utilities at one end. Bangs in the other. The Gen V is setup for my M14s and can hold 6-8 mags (M14 mids don't hold loads of rounds) without getting bulky (plus it has a centre zip for getting it on and off easily. I've just ordered a repro 1961A too for shits and giggles and so I can see just how much gear I can wedge into one rig!

For those of us old enough to have grown up with the Big Yin, it means poop down south too. -
Pull the foam out. It's only there to filter out dust and without it you'll get better airflow.

I like you, you're funny!

Was just about to say the same. In fact I'm pretty sure I said it earlier on here or one of the other "where am gnu?" threads. -
But they're not designed to be the sole support for the rifle. They rely on you holding the gun while it rests in the holster.

Nah mate. They used them in Stargate: Atlantis too.

Just looked up what I run my M249 with and it's a 7.4V LiPo but it's 1300mAh 35C/70C rated at 45,5A cont/ 91A burst. It may just be those Nuprol batteries are a bit rubbish for something like the LMG. Personally I'd recommend upgrading both to Turnigy batteries and a decent balance charger. -
