  1. Personally, I'd get the G&G and use a 7.4v LiPo in it. IF the original MOSFET goes pop then change it for something better (like a Gate Nano).
  2. Something I've always wondered - why is Dyslexia so hard to spell? Just seems cruel and unusual to me!
  3. I think the statement PAS have made regarding the G&G mosfet is a bit of arse covering in the light of some failures in guns using 11.1v LiPos. +1 on the NanoAB Mosfet though, I have one in my M4 with a 7.4v LiPo and (when it's working) it's fuggin' great!
  4. He had the guns out showing them to a support worker who expressed concerns about him taking them in to the college, Police were informed and they picked him up after seeing him on CCTV going to said college. He was cleared of the knife related offensive weapons charge but the only other criminal offence mentioned was modifying the guns by spraying them black (which would suggest that he didn't have a defence against the VCRA) There would have been no need to get ARU involved as they already knew they weren't real guns. Bit of a non-story that seems to have been blown a bit out of proportion in my opinion.
  5. So true. Even WITH the Elcan sight and EGLM it still looks tiny on him!
  6. Can you measure the diameter of the internal thread on your gun? If it's 11mm internal CW threaded then you can use one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/11to-14mm-Barrel-Adaptor-for-WE-Hi-capa-G17-G18C-G23-G25-G27-G34-G35-Airsoft-GBB-/191010433444?pt=UK_Sporting_Goods_Paintballing&hash=item2c791be9a4 which are usually for pistols but should do the job. Again, check the diameter of the thread first!
  7. The article doesn't specifically state what he was charged with other than this bit: Which would suggest he was charged with unlawful possession of an offensive weapon (or similar). The point is that he wasn't in court for the guns but somehow managed to get himself fined for them. The only way that could have happened as far as I am aware was that he must have been charged with modifying the guns which would only have been an offence if he had no defence against the VCRA. The main thing he seems to actually be guilty of is being a dick by waving his guns about in public, which going on the fine levied on him he has pretty much got away with.
  8. I have a SCAR-L and it's great. As above though if you want a good gun that you can buy mags and pouches for easily go for the L, if you want the look and US SOCOM appeal, get the H. Black Death has a black SCAR H TM Recoil and it looks the absolute dogs danglies. Check out the photos from the field thread to see what I mean!
  9. +1 for the Element scout copies, although I have had some issues with the plug on the back getting a bit flaky. I also very highly rate the Nextorch WL10 which I have on my pistol. That thing will melt concrete at 100 paces!
  10. When I was at peak fitness (a loooong time ago) I used to do three 1 hour cycling sessions on the road and then a good 4 hour freeride at the weekend. Worth a try. Your MTB should be fine for a bit of road riding but of you have particularly knobbly tyres you might want to try some slicks/lower profile tyres.
  11. Seems it's mostly down to running them on 11.1v LiPos. The suggestion is that the higher gauge wiring allows more current to flow than the MOSFET can handle. PAS actually state in the blurb under the Gen 3 guns that you should only use them with 7.4v LiPo batteries and that the better wiring and MOSFET negates the advantages you'd get from an 11.1.
  12. Comedy aside - "Google" is only called that because they were originally going to call the site "Goggle" but misspelled it.
  13. I used Andy Bourne for mine ( http://www.tacticaloptician.co.uk/ ). Lovely chap, glazed an ESS ViceRx insert for me £35 +£5.95 return postage. Personally I wouldn't trust Specsavers to tell me the correct time let alone get my prescription right (simple short sightedness prescription that they have managed to fuck up every time I've used them).
  14. Anyone know if there are 0.25g RED tracer bb's available? All Ican find are the Madbull ones and they're only 0.2g in red...

  15. Nice guns though, buddy of mine has one.
  16. If it's anything like the G&G SCAR-L CQC (and I believe it is) if you buy the standard one you get a long barrel, if you get the light version you get a short barrel with an extender. Either way the inner barrel should be the same length I beleive. The Light version (short barrel) is significantly shorter but the standard is no longer than a standard M4A1, the only difference might be that the RIS extends further (on the T4-18 that is).
  17. So was that the white nub or the black one?
  18. Screw it then, I think I'll stick with an AoE adjustment and the standard gears for now. Thanks for the advice!
  19. Just for info - the gun is running an M95 spring, 7.4V LiPo, NanoAB mosfet, 300mm barrel, SHS piston head, SHS cylinder head and nozzle, standard TM gears, rewired with 1.5mm low resistance wiring and Deans connectors.
  20. Cheers for that guys. Samurai, yes - at one point during a particularly hamfisted reassembly the piston missed the guides and turned a bit hence the marks. Never thought about the grease getting to the hop though, good point! So I'm thinking that maybe this would be a good opportunity to swap out the gears for maybe a 16:1 set to raise the RoF, sorbo pad and AoE adjustment. Would I need anything else to go down that route?
  21. Friend of mine has one - fantastic bit of kit!
  22. As some of you may know I have an old TM M4A1 that has become Triggers Tactical Broom. The guts and outers have pretty much all been changed over the last few months in a seemingly endless chase to get the thing working better than it was stock (230fps, 3 parts of f-all range). When it was finally all together I loaned it to a buddy who used it for half a day before it jammed. Despite my protestations that once it had jammed he should maybe stop pulling the trigger, several exploratory bursts of auto were forced upon the poor thing. Stripped down once again it seemed to merely be a BB stuck in the hop. I cleared it, tried again and the same thing happened so I ordered a new rubber (Prommy soft) which I installed tonight. Nice. All went back together nicely and so to test firing. A few single shots came out very nicely thank you so a burst of auto was called for. THRAAAAP! THHRAAAAAAAAP! Cool. One more for luck - THRRAAAAcccgghhhhh cghghhhhhhhh cjhghhhhhhhhh. Bugger. One spectacularly chewed piston. So - to avoid this tale of woe in the future, what do I need to do? New piston (obvs) but what else? The gun is running a 7.4v LiPo, standard gears, original motor and a Nano AB mosfet. Do I need to worry about AoE or just get a new piston with all metal teeth? Please also bear in mind that this is the ORIGINAL TM piston, the gun was already 10+ years old when it got to me! What say you AFUK massive?
  23. SCAR-L or H (VFC, G&G or TM recoil depending on your budget) Actually the H doesn't take M4 mags....sorry about that.
