  1. You should sell me your Strike Back G3, then you'd have space........
  2. 43. 44 on Sunday though. I'm having jelly and cake.
  3. I hate to say it buddy but I think you're donald ducked on that one. All the aftermarket handguards of a Magpul/CAA style I've seen are designed primarily for the real steel market so they expect a real steel style delta nut to hold it all together. If you just want to add rails to a standard handguard there are ones designed for that very task: http://www.actionhobbies.co.uk/M16-AR15-M4-Hand-Guard-Base-Rail_AWWG4.aspx#.U3oyQPldWSo I had one like this on my original handguard until I swapped mine out for the MOE guard (and the delta ring and all the other bits and pieces need to make it fit).
  4. So how much extra would you be prepared to pay for all this out of the box reliability/performance? I seem to remember you saying in another thread that you don't see the point of paying big numbers for a gun and that you'd rather buy something cheap and upgrade it so I wonder if you would even buy a gun that came with all the stuff you're saying you want and still leave it alone! In terms of general AEG weapons, G&G top tech guns are great out of the box and I've heard very good things about the Lonex M4s but ultimatley a £90 CYMA does what it needs to with nothing more than a battery and some ammo! Maybe your expectations of what can or indeed should be done to an off the shelf product are a little high?
  5. A friend of mine challenged me to work out how much I'd spent on airsoft (which came to a hideously large number) and then said "best make sure Sam doesn't find out!". Sam being my wife. She said that she wasn't really bothered because it's my money and as long as it's not stopping us doing other stuff then why should she stop me doing stuff I enjoy. The bit that annoys her is the space it takes up and the general mess I make leaving bits everywhere! She always looks on in concern when I reveal my welts with a boyish grin though. Bless her.
  6. Cyma do (or at least used to do) one of those http://www.kuulapurkki.fi/index.php/p910.html?___store=land_camo_e2
  7. It's £25 - what are you hoping for? If this is for your custom M4 build I'd say save a bit and get one of these: http://www.air-lab.co.uk/products/gearbox-parts/lonex-complete-gearbox-sp150-ultra-torque-for-m4-m16-series.html Of course - for that money you could just buy a whole new gun....
  8. Try the Pirate arms ones from Bullseye Country Sport. I have one and it's pretty decent. The 3x FTS magnifier I bought with it has however been consigned to the "try and make it work better" pile.
  9. A nylon polymer bodied g&g will have a perfectly fine gearbox.
  10. For the money, that's not a bad spec. Surprised you can't supply an OEM Windows licence if you're preinstalling it though. I think it would possibly struggle a bit with a game like Medieval TW2 though. The CPU is roughly equivalent to my old Core 2 Quad Q6600 performance wise and that would run it but not well. While the game does have multi CPU support it doesn't do hyperthreading and it's pretty demanding if the unit sizes are high. Now granted, I'm working at the higher end of gaming PCs (mine is more in the £1000 price range) and if most of the OPs games are relatively old then I'm sure they'll be fine. I'd just rather see a bit more horsepower in the CPU and GPU. That's not a bad little machine but it's never going to set the world alight (not that much else will at that budget).
  11. Airlab sorbo pad and piston O ring to try and sort out the M4!
  12. Shouldn't be a problem as the item value is too low.
  13. Quick word of advice - you don't HAVE to change the connectors in the gun. Mine's still running absolutely fine on the original Tamiya style ones. Deans or XT60 connectors do give you better contact but to be honest with the G&G SCAR the biggest barrier to connectivity isn't the battery connector - it's the fine gauge wiring that jumps the fold in the stock and the brass pins they use to connect through from the battery compartment to the main gun. Buy the gun, get a decent battery and enjoy it. It's a fine weapon!
  14. Right then. I have a G&G SCAR-L. It's ace. Ignore anyone that says you can fold the stock for CQB because 1) that's NOT why the stock folds and 2) it's a pain to try and use with the stock folded anyway. If you buy the CQC version the gun comes with a barrel extender to the same length as the standard rifle. This can be easily unscrewed which then gives you the CQB length gun. Simples. I run a 7.4v LiPo in mine ( this one in fact: http://www.componentshop.co.uk/7-4v-2200mah-35c-lipo-battery.html ) and it's fine and dandy. It does NOT need a cranestock battery as the battery space is a big square block in the buttstock. The ONLY reservation I have is that it's quite easy to bend the pins the connect the main part of the gun to the battery holder, but it's easy to not fuck it up - you just need to be a bit aware of what you're doing when you fit the battery. You WILL need a downgrade spring though. When mine turned up it was shooting at the thick end of 400FPS! Get the shop to do it for you and aim to be under 340FPS as then you'll have no trouble with any of the sites you might want to use (CQB sites for example tend to be quite low on muzzle velocity). Well worth the money and a gun that will last you a decent length of time too. Good choice.
  15. That's better! Yeah, nice job. Are the new grips all new or just reworkings of the original ones?
  16. I think a little bit of sick just came out...
  17. Looks nice but without the before pics there's no way to judge the progression
  18. Nope, still takes up half the screen on my laptop. Any chance you can make the gifs smaller?
  19. Good effort but it's still way too big. If it wasn't for the epilepsy inducing gifs it might not be so bad but either way it needs to not take up half the screen.
  20. No, just a finely tuned irony detector. Too many elfs and wizards in WoW for my liking. Not enough guns. Innit.
