  1. In all these situations I do my level best to take the high ground and just walk away. The other guys just reinforce to the marshal that they're the ones being idiots plus life really is too short to get that aerated about a game of soldiers in the woods. Walk away, move along, get on with having fun.
  2. Helical gears are usually recommended when you're trying to increase FPS rather than RoF. They have a greater meshing area on the gears which allows them to consistently produce stringer torque. If you're after increased RoF I'd stick with good quality flat gears (SHS Super Shooter, Siegetek, Lonex etc). There'll be plenty of other things to absorb your cash if you're going down the high RoF route!
  3. I use napalm and a scotch brite pad. Of course... my guns screwed but it's shiny :-)
  4. Helical gears are a pain to shim properly. If you get it right they're near silent. If not they sound like a cat eating wasps. In a can. Going over a waterfall in a dishwasher.
  5. Have you tried adjusting your hop?
  6. More to the point, no money changed hands. Other than realising the blokes a bit of a tosser no harm has been done so there would be no grounds for legal action whatsoever.
  7. I feel it only fair to point out that the last post may contain traces of sarcasm, irony and possibly peanuts.
  8. This. I hate to sound harsh but why the hell would you leave that kind of gear in a van overnight in the first place? Especially if your livelihood (I assume this was rental gear) might depend on it.
  9. Just to check - he tried to scam you but actually didn't because your mum was sensible enough to ask around and not fall for it, correct?
  10. My first memory of games (outside of arcades that is) was playing some traffic light game on an old Commodore Pet at my middle school. I would have been around 12 I guess so 1982ish? God I feel old now.
  11. Cool. I need more guns then (no threats of divorce yet) Welcome to the madhouse, doghouse!
  12. I seem to remember that was actually a standard V2 GB in an AA12 shell?
  13. Like Ed said - the G&G MP5s are awesome bits of kit. A few of my mates have them and they work spectacularly well. Personally I prefer the sliding stock versions but they're all good.
  14. Actually it was pretty restrained for James. Sometimes, people need telling the harsh truth though. There's only so much smoke a person needs blown up their arse. It's difficult to determine the cause of the failure to hit targets from a few words on the internet though. When my M4 was failing to hit people it really was down to the gun though. Even with the hop set right it would barely get 15m. Maybe a bit more description of the problem the OP is having would help.
  15. Another possibility is that he just doesn't appreciate what the range of his gun is. Lots of people don't. But to be honest....it's what I was thinking.
  16. 305 is plenty for cqb.
  17. This charger: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Digital-IMAX-B6AC-Balancing-Charger300mAh/dp/B00GGBC8WA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404145806&sr=8-1&keywords=imax+b6 would be much better. Range and FPS don't have a great deal to do with the battery, but rof does. It's not just about the voltage though. LiPo batteries deliver their current differently which gives you higher rate of fire and improved trigger response. Personally I'd stick with 7.4v rather than 11.1v purely because it'll put less stress on your gearbox. Something around 1600mAh should last you all day unless you're hammering the full auto a lot! Of course you cold always get 2 batteries and swap them halfway through the day if you needed to.
  18. If I'm not mistaken it's the same design as the old Marui M4 hop unit in that it comes in two halves. Replacement choices are limited but the Marui ones are pretty good (try Fire Support for them). Otherwise fitting a single piece hop unit involves cutting the lower part out and modifying the lower receiver to take a single piece hop (or going down the whole new receiver route like I did and that's a whole different kettle of expensive fish).
  19. It's just that while yes, some pistols can outrange an AEG, in general they're not really designed for ranged use. As a result 270fps is actually plenty for the kind of close in engagements you would normally use them in. Also (as you'll find elsewhere on here with a quick search) fps isn't everything!
  20. For CQB? Or woodland?
  21. Why do you think you need more than 270fps?
  22. This. I'm sure we've all been guilty of beginners enthusiasm though. I certainly remember trying to find the perfect ACOG to match my BF3 loadout! Thing is that sights are less relevant to your accuracy than just learning how your gun behaves and how to actually shoot at stuff properly. But yes, best advice to Flex? Spend the money on mags and learn how to use iron sights effectively. Once the sights become a limiting factor THEN look at adding magnification.
  23. Not just their M14s. My SCAR was firing around 400FPS out of the box.
  24. In that case, Planet replicas do a licenced Judges Baton (it's out of stock at the moment) which is more akin to the comic version in that it's not an extending baton. If you're intending to wear the costume out to events like MCM or LFCC you need to check the rules on weapons. If you have an extanding baton chances are it'll be metal so it'll be banned. Fixed batons need to be soft and/or flexible too (hence the PR one has a plastic core sleeved with closed cell foam).
