  1. Ahhh....so you know TRC well then! Who are you "over there" then?
  2. There's a company that makes a resin version. Could pretty easily be modified into a dress up kit for an airsoft pistol I reckon.
  3. Many years spent in the murky depths of Visordown and TheRevCounter (both motorbike forums for the uninformed) have left me with a significantly thicker skin and a general attitude of "meh, whatever" when it comes to internet based trolls. TRC once had a thread that started with a n00b introduction and ended with a 183 page flame war. I shit you not. Should any of you have the misfortune opportunity to meet me in real life you'll quickly learn that the same attitude doesn't follow me into real life.
  4. Very true. Unfortunately much like a great many other "minority" hobbies there just isn't the demand for bricks and mortar shops any more. The long running Comet Miniatures in Lavender Hill even shut down last year. Modelzone was a bit rubbish but at least you could, as you say, go in and just have a look. There's a little modelling shop next door to the comic book shop I frequent (yes I am THAT geeky) and he sells all kinds of good stuff by way of supplies but there never seems to be anyone in there!.
  5. Mark Owen (the SEAL chap) made a statement about airsoft (I posted on here somewhere) that would serve your purpose but honestly - it's all just pissing in the wind. Arrse and it's like are populated by mouth breathing knuckle draggers that purely exist to massage their own fragile egos. It's not worth wasting your time on. As a wise man once said - it's like teaching a pig to sing; it wastes your time and annoys the pig.
  6. Mod support too. I miss that. Dragon rising has about a squillion community created maps, missions and even campaigns. Granted some of them are utter pish but some are fantastic!
  7. Thing is, I like my games for two reasons. I like OpFlash and its ilk for the geeky realism and I lament the passing of the "proper" Tom Clancy games for that same reason. But I also like BF3 and 4 and CoD and MoH and hell, even Wolfenstein because sometimes I just want to blow shit up. With a jeep. Covered in C4.
  8. Was this second hand? If not it's probably a chinese clone. PTS stopped production of the licenced Magpul stuff a while back. You might find a nunchuck style battery fits better. My MOE guard fits a 2600mAh 7.4v nunchuck lipo and a Deans adaptor and a Gate NanoAB mosfet just fine. Gets a bit tight when you start adding rails sections though as the threaded inserts they use stick in quite a bit.
  9. You should come to the Mall sometime. Just saying...
  10. No, it makes it look like a Pulse Rifle and that is AWESOME.
  11. I loved the planning aspect of the old R6 games too. Placing all your team members for breaching, letting your sniper go weapons free at just the right time.....happy days! You're right though, modern FPS games are by and large far too easy these days. There's whole sections of CoD now where your actions make so little difference that you may as well not even be there! And just what HAS happened to leaning?
  12. Battlefield isn't good for tactics unless those tactics are "run about like a loon, don't follow orders and for Gods sake don't play as a team". The ORIGINAL Operation Flashpoint is a proper tactical game. This is after all what spawned ArmA (for those that don't know, the studio that developed OpFlash and the publisher fell out, one kept the name the other kept the anal attention to detail and massively steep learning curve). OpFlash is very free roaming too. Dragon rising is a little bit more "on rails" in terms of the campaign but that's not always a bad thing. Red River plays pretty much like any other sort of tactical shooter to be honest. It is good fun though. If you want to learn team play, have a look at the early Ghost Recon games and the early Rainbow Six games (Particularly Raven Shield which is awesome).
  13. On the grounds that you're posting here I assume you are aware that the internet has shops that sell this stuff....right? For less money too.
  14. They'll react in the exact same way. I'm assuming (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) that not many people posting on here in shock and dismay at the attitude exhibited on Arrse have actually spent much time on different forums? The herd mentality is prevalent among a great many of these internet based hives of douchebaggery, it matters not what an individual member might think of something, if the forum bellends smell blood in the water there's always a feeding frenzy. Chalk it up to experience and get on with your life. It's not worth your time and trouble.
  15. If your pc runs sturmovik well it should handle of:dr ok. Plus you'll be able to get it cheap now. Red river is good too (if somewhat less...."tactical").
  16. Not sure if they still do it, but it used to be the case that if you have damaged or missing parts you could send them the damaged parts with the barcode from the box and they will replace them for free.
  17. Microsoft security essentials works absolutely fine for me. Ditto Windows firewall. It's as much about being careful where you point your browser and not opening blind links in unsolicited email.
  18. Airsoft zone have the gen2 in stock.
  19. Norton? *sucks through teeth* well...THERE'S your problem. Seriously though, Norton is a massive resource hog that works little to no better than the free antivirus packages out there. Some companies actually class it as malware because it's so difficult to get rid of.
  20. Welcome to the spend/excite/disappoint cycle that is airsoft. As long as the "that's exactly what I wanted" part out weighs the "fuck me I paid xxx for THIS" then you're laughing.
  21. Dammit. I've just found their "Sci-Fi" section. How the hell am I supposed to save to go on holiday now?
  22. In general the M93r is a bonkers load of fun in one tidy little package. The KWA one that I had a look at seems quite nicely put together and a reasonable weight (metal slide, polymer frame). Generally a well thought of brand. I'm considering getting one myself to be honest.
