  1. I still reckon you'll do some damage to your inner barrel with a brass weight. Like Ian says, even small abrasions can have a big effect on small, light projectiles like BBs. Might be better off using hardwood or dense plastic. Anything that's considerably softer than the material the inner barrel's made of, which is probably also brass.
  2. The orange tip is an American thing, supposedly to enable people to quickly tell the difference between an airsoft gun and a real one. Since you can buy a real hot pink ar15 (http://www.pinkgun.com/ar15/) I can see why they'd still have to put an orange top on it!
  3. As far as I can tell, zerooneairsoft have offered your the best price!
  4. So you're complaining that the discount they gave you, that they didn't have to offer at all... Wasn't big enough? Some people really never are happy.
  5. someone's been watching too many films! it'll just switch their night vision off.
  6. small claims isn't appropriate in this case, if he wants to sue his dad (which is ridiculous) he'll need to pursue a claim through civil courts, it'd costs thousands and probably end up bankrupting both of them over a few AEGs. utterly ridiculous.
  7. 2,000lumens... you'll end up blinding yourself with backsplash from the walls!
  8. TM SOPMOD, prometheus internal bits (gears, spring guide, piston, piston head, cylinder head), eagle 6 spring, BTC Spectre MOSFET, firefly hop rubber and nub. Put a decent battery (11.1v, high discharge rate) in that and it'll batter anything else you can get for the money, real sword guns included. Depends entirely on the quality of the installation of course, if you just wedge the bits in without properly shimming, correcting AOE on the piston etc it'll be a bag of shit.
  9. the tunnels are huge, the airsoft section is only a small bit of the whole network so there's no worry about bumping into a bunch of ghost hunters... one thing I will advise though is taking a torch because it's FUCKING DARK down there.
  10. Also not a sub machine gun, nice try though flex. I had a go on a G&G MP5 a few months back, very solid little gun for £130, definitely worth a look.
  11. It'll cost you way more than £1000 to pursue a civil claim, a solicitor will charge you more than that just to file the appropriate paperwork and represent you for a couple of hours. Just take it on the chin, accept that you aren't getting them back and that you'd still have them if you hadn't been a very silly boy by getting caught growing cannabis.
  12. No, just the extra weight of the metal slide, 144a isn't as powerful as green/propane (by that I mean it doesn't boil as quickly). People tend to prefer 144a for plastic slide guns because it is weaker so won't (shouldn't ;-) ) damage the slide/frame and also because it compresses more than green or propane so you actually get more shots per mag from it.
  13. go play enough games to get onto the UKARA database, then buy the pistol as it should be. easy.
  14. or just paint over the markings? you're polishing a turd anyway!
  15. with a metal slide you'll HAVE to use green gas/propane, abbey 144A probably won't have the grunt to cycle it properly.
  16. yeah, the internals from the plastic slide will come out no problems, does your metal slide come with a metal outer barrel too? If not, get one ASAP, the metal slide will destroy a plastic outer barrel in no time at all. as for affecting the performance of the gun... yeah, it'll have a negative effect on blowback speed and gas efficiency, no way round it sadly, you're moving a bigger weight so it takes more energy (therefore, more gas) to do it. If you get it running really smooth you'll still be able to empty a magazine of BBs on one fill of gas, but maybe not when it's really cold.
  17. ooh, yes it has, I'll write up a review ASAP.
  18. as an ex squaddie I think you already know that a beret is not exactly practical!
  19. With the amount it'd cost to take your dad to civil court and sue him for the value of the guns it'd be cheaper to go to three skirmishes and buy new ones.
  20. you can get coleman gas cheap ish in go-outdoors with the discount card.
  21. Jeans and tee shirt is fine, no need for a puffa jacket! Also, bulldog BBs are dogshit, you might as well put gravel in your mags. ASG Blasters are cheap and good quality.
  22. If you're just after props for cosplay then the ASG is perfectly fine, no point paying a premium for the marui when you're only after the looks anyway!
  23. although, realistically it just sounds like either the motor pinion or piston is stripped. £10 to replace.
  24. I have a HSGI 'bleeder' pouch on my plate carrier with a fully stocked first aid kit... Not quite as comprehensive as Ian's but it's got bandages, ZOT, gauze, first field dressing, normasol, shears, haemostatic agent, sticky plasters, paracetamol, ibuprofen, and some antihistamines. Covers me for everything from a boo-boo on a finger to a pretty heavy duty laceration.
