    That's gnarly, were you not wearing face/mouth protection? My biggest fear in this game is losing  a tooth/eye!

    Almost my biggest fear of playing airsoft! I wear a Delta Mike just because it's more breathable and doesn't cause condensation on the mouth protection like most other metal mesh mouth protection does. It still hurts getting shot in the cheek/side of the face though!

    For a bit of information for anyone else who wants/needs the flash hider for a L85 Airsoft Artisan actually sells the flash hider on its own, not with the suppressor as a bundle. You can find it here for $28. It doesn't show in the L85 subcategory which is why I was confused.

    Some HK stores also have it in stock if you google "
    FHSA80".

  3. Oof, that's a lot for a flash hider. I got my G&G L85 from the US because I couldn't find one anywhere else in the UK or EU (that was an ETU model) and they had the DD handguard in stock to go with it. This means the tip is painted blaze orange 😕 normally this wouldnt be an issue but it doesnt come with an all black one plus spares are hard to come by so I may have to resort to spraying it black unless anyone knows of any others that'll fit?

  4. As per this review on Evike; "PLEASE READ! Evike needs to update the description on this. I bought this for my G&G L85 ETU, which is technically the version 2 of the G&G L85. This rail still does fit, but it does not fit flush."

    It appears that G&G may have changed something around where the adapter sits causing this issue. They've definitely changed how you remove the outer barrel anyway because I can't figure out how to remove that either.

    As a little update to the handguard; i've taken a dremel to the screw hole that's misaligned on the handguard and lengthened it. The screw is now in and the handguard is solid. Only downside is that there's a 2mm gap between the receiver and the handguard. While not effecting functionality it's annoying to see. I'll strip it down again tomorrow and check if even more dremeling will let it sit flush with the receiver or at that point will the sling loop bolt start causing issues which I suspect it will. This probably leaves me with two options; dremel/drill/file the sling loop securement point so it sits further back making it flush or make a spacer that hides the 2mm gap...

  5. So I recently came into ownership of a G&G L85A2 ETU. I bought the Madbull handguard which has also arrived but I've ran into issues when attempting to assemble it.

    When I put the handguard onto the gun, attach then the sling loop the screw hole on the bottom of the gun doesnt line up in the handguard and I can't secure it meaning the handguard wobbles - pic related;

    If I
    nudge the handguard back up so the holes do align, I get a huuuuge gap between the handguard and the receiver of the gun. Could this be an issue with the way the adapter installs? - pic related;

    I would have assumed that the adapter block would sit flush over that ring of the outer barrel but the few pictures I can find of other peoples G&G is exactly like I have it, most of the videos/posts I can find about installing this are related to the ICS version so i'm kinda stuck.

    This.

    Also I can see sites banning them if they're too loud. Yes we can use bfgs with 9mm blanks but with something like this it'll be going off way more often so the chances of it doing damage to someone's hearing is far higher

    Apparently sound level can be tuned as per below but even then, that's still a lot of noise going off near your head.

    I do recommend checking out their youtube videos from 7 years ago as it will answer most questions .

    It goes on your existing airsoft gun and the volume can be adjusted from lower ,more ear safe levels to full immersive levels the same as firing blanks

  7. I used a Specna Arms Core 04 as the base for my project/learning build. The polymer for the receiver is actually really good, I just dislike handguards that are secured via the delta-ring, they always seems loose/wobbly. I will say that the Specna (blue) hop-units are great and haven't had an issue with it. Reliably lifts 0.3g out to good range and is very consistent.

    I'm sure Rostok will be here soon to shill the Double Eagle guns with the EFCS :)

  8. Well shit. I bought a holster (that's supposed to fit all M92 series pistols) for the WE Samurai Edge I just bought and it doesnt fit. It's very tight and to actually lock into the holster it pushes the slide back about 1cm. Turns out there's some extra bits on the slide that contact the holster. The question is should I sand down the inside of the holster or just try "resizing" it with some hot water to try and stretch the holster out.

    Failing both these methods i'd have to get a universal/adjustable holster as apparently no one makes a holster that fits the Samurai Edge. Checking around elsewhere about the holster I bought, I found a site that has a bit of small print saying the Samurai Edge doesn't fit amoung some others... a tad annoying when that say it fits all M9 models but hey ho.

  9. Just arrived this morning: WE Samurai Edge Gen 2 bought from @Daveoc33 <- big thanks. The mag is gas tight as it still arrived with some left for me to fire it full auto for the giggles.

    This thing is clean with very few signs of wear. Stripped it already and the inner barrel looks like it's never had a BB through it. I plan on clear-coating the emblems on the pistol grips to preserve them as i've heard these can wear away quickly. One issue i've noticed is that it looks like the hop isn't being applied centrally (when looking down the barrel) so I probably need to strip the hop unit and have a play with it however i'm going to replace the bucking with a new one due to the potential age of the stock one plus buckings have likely massively improved since this was released.

    A fully adjustable 2 point sling. Works in a similar way to the british army sa80 one without the need for the clips.

    Interesting. I have a two-point sling for most of my guns but don't like how I can't cinch it tightly to my body if I need to like you can with the L85 sling. Mind posting what you made?

    I signed up to their newsletter for this latest release. In case anyone hasn't seen it they sent me a PDF of three different installation methods. I've tried attaching images of the PDF to this post but the forums won't have it. I've uploaded it to Mega so you can look at the PDF here; https://mega.nz/file/RsFiBS6S#E0Js44LnGw0AaGamF86znhqfHrMWgQ6D03Lz-1sr-OE

  12. As for scam sites, there was someone attempting to impersonate Crown Airsoft and had a very convincing site. Only thing that got my spidey sense tingling was the fact that their stuff was about $100 cheaper than everywhere else. After looking about their site a bit more the name of the site was spelt wrong; CrownAirosoft. At a glance, it's easy to miss. The fake site has since been stripped to it's standard layout presumably by the hosting service.

    I try my hardest to pay with paypal everywhere on the internet just in case my brain turns off and I get scammed.

    Mate don't pay a Kings ransom for boots just get some Viper v-cam double zip. Great for work,rest and play.👍

    As per this reply in the other thread, KombatUK makes a version of this boot too. I picked mine up on sale for about £25 but their MSRP is usually around £40-£50. Here's a pair for £40. I've been using them for indoors play and they've very comfortable. Zero complaints about them. Not been to an outdoors site this year but I tend to use my surplus AKUs then.
