Voodoo.

This might make someone chuckle, it's from my local sites Christmas game back on the 19th December which was a bloody cold day and is out in the country, where I played with my 12 year old son and his two cousins (12 and 14).
 
The sun had just set at 4 pm and we all played one final game, marshals vs all other players, and the last player standing wins a free game day. Lasted about 20 minutes and the marshals shout "Game Over", so back to the safe zone, and then off to the raffle that had loads of good prizes with each of the four of us having tickets. Half way through the raffle, so about 20 minutes after game over, I notice that my son and his younger cousin still aren't at the raffle so call their phones, no answer, where the hell are they?
 
The youngest cousin's ticket then wins an £80 Nuprol shotgun, but there's no sign of them, the marshals wait as long as they can but have to re-draw the ticket and give it to someone else. All very odd so a marshal goes off looking for them.
 
About 40 minutes later they were both found hiding under a bush, freezing cold in the pitch black, thinking the game was still on! 😆

Another day at Bristol Airsoft (The Courts) today, was a fun day. A lot smaller teams so played more tactical.
 
it’s such a surreal feeling sneaking through the cells in darkness, listening out for foot steps. As soon as I heard anything I stopped dead and aimed toward the direction it was coming from. 
 
My high cappa helped so much today also on the tight stairs. Just need a sling now and had to go one handed while holding my rifle down to the side.
 

 
always seem to get hit in the same place tho, you can still see the reminiscence of the 19th when we last played but now a few new marks from today. 

The worst thing is I already had some gloves but left them at home like an idiot.
 
Oh I swore too, no kids today so was okay but the Marshall did laugh then said sorry for laughing. He said it’s the quickest way to learn to remember your gloves.

Today was my first ever game of airsoft, it is safe to say I’m hooked. 
 
already looking to book again between Christmas and new year at the same site (Bristol Airsoft). It’s a shame the site is closing soon tho but hopefully be able to get my UKARA before it does.
 
Need to make sure I take gloves with me next time as my left hand (my lead hand) got shot so many times. 
 
Also eventually I would like a torch for the dark sections and a tracer unit but no rush as want to get used to my gun before buying attachments.

I am going to keep the gun, it’s only a first RIF and to be honest if it doesn’t last long I will learn to do some research next time.
 
I have charged a battery and had a little go on it in the back garden but will probably do some proper plinking soon to set the sights in better.

It has all arrived and to be honest it doesn’t look or feel that bad (I don’t know what to watch out for yet but seems okay). 
 
it will be a starting gun which I will learn with and will probably move onto something bigger or better in the future. 
 
I won’t be using it on my first game as already paid for a rental so will use that to get used to it then bring it out at a later date.
 
 

Unfortunately my experience of the bulldog M4 is it may last you about 2 games or less some times a bit more but don't expect much. They used to sell them at a place I did 2tone jobs for and a lot came back. I'd send it back as soon as you get it and buy something more reputable like from the GG cm range.

I am playing at Bristol Airsoft, it’s a CQB site close to me. I am going with two friends, I have jumped the gun tho and got my gear before even playing my first game. 
 

I have a M4PI coming with two extra mags & two batteries. The gun I went for has a conversation kit so when I have my UKARA I can make it into a RIF.
 
Not planning on a side arm for a while as want to get used to my rifle first. Hopefully when the weather improves next year I can go to Bristol Black Ops and high is more of an outside site where I can work on my long range.
 
 
I will be calling all my hits for sure including ones I am not 100% on, it’s better to call them then keep playing when you might have been hit.

all fits great and can’t wait to play my first proper game on the 19th December. 

hopefully the rest of my gear will be here the beginning of this week. 
 

Welcome to the never-ending temptations of acquiring airsoft gear... Hope you're first game goes well, I'm sure you'll love it!
 
Best advice I could give before spending any more moolah is - get out and play, play, play, that way you'll get a feel for what you'd need/like without wasting cash on stuff that sounds or looks great but is of not much use. Looks like you've got much of what you'll need to start out. I'd recommend 2 or 3 mags for reloads and maybe a spare battery.
 
Don't worry too much about sidearm at this stage.

I picked this up thinking of all the cons of an Eotech clone (Seeing your own reflection when light is behind you in a dark area, horrible parallax etc) and was pleasantly surprised when this sight had none of those downsides! The XTO seems to have little to no parallax and it has a mirrored finish on the front glass, but you don't see your reflection if you're in a dark area and have a light source behind you. I paired this up with Vector Optics' x5 Flip-to-side Magnifier and have encountered no reticle ghosting, nor any distorted image when looking through the lens, it's crystal clear. The buttons function as normal, with pressing the up and down buttons simultaneously turning off the optic, pressing the up button turning it on, up and down changes the brightness of the reticle, and the NV button turning the reticle from red to green and vice versa. The optic also has working elevation and windage controls on the right side of the metal outer shell. It also uses a CR123A battery, the same as the real steel. I'd been looking for a good, or even usable Eotech clone for quite a while, and I never saw anyone reviewing this sight on the website, the only 2 video reviews being on YouTube. Here's some footage of the parallax from one of the reviews, in case you're wondering.

I don't have a problem with patches in airsoft. As others have said, we're all playing dress up at the end of the day. Airsofters wearing impression kit are not the same as the wankers that buy berets and medals off eBay and pass themselves off as veterans at November ceremonies.
 
Me and my mates all wore our issued MTP when we first started a couple of years ago because why pay for extra kit when we had free stuff? No rank slides though!
