  1. Unwritten rule no.6, paragraph 3 - it’s just a game.

If you get hit, call it.

If it was a good shot, say so.

If you’re not sure, take the hit anyway.

You will always encounter people who don’t take a hit, whether because they just didn’t feel it (plate carriers etc) or because they’re a dick. You’ll also encounter people who miss, but swear blind they hit you. There’s two sides to every exchange on the field and we’ll all be on both of them.

Also, leave the marshals to deal with issues, no good comes from a confrontation where neither side will budge, you may as well just shout at a wall. Chill out, remove yourself from the situation and go have fun firing BBs at people that play nice.

  2. At least with Airsoft it lasts the day, you're out in the morning and back for dinner. Whereas the likes of the cinema can cost almost as much for a couple of hours entertainment and then you've still got the rest of the day to fill.

One downside with airsoft is that it's not something they can do every day / whenever they like, although if they learn some cleaning & tech skills there's plenty to keep then occupied for a few hours between games. Of course if they're only looking for weekend distraction's then that's less of an issue.

The issue is that there is a core of HPA players that don't like taking their hits, pad themselves up as well but don't mind dishing out the pain, so any suggestion that I am in the wrong game, think again, its the HPA players that insist on ruining hot rigs, the funny thing is the other HPA players at the same game, their hots didn't hurt half as much as those guys that were running hot guns...

Finally we get to the bottom of all this, your issue isn't HPA ... it's that some people are dicks.

Got some bad news for you, there are dicks everywhere, some of them even use AEGs and not all of them drive BMW's and Audi's either.

Can we get back to talking about people having fun now?

HPA players are all the devil incarnate and must be returned to the depths of hell

    Haters gonna hate.

Physics is physics, we've explained it to death.

Hope you raised any issues you have with the marshals and they dealt with it appropriately - you've not mentioned if you did or not?

If Anzio's got lower limits for HPA, prob best you play there in future.

You do bruise like a peach though, I play loads of CQB and while I look like I've done 10 rounds with a swarm of mozzies the day after as I only wear a thin top to avoid overheating, there's nothing like that bruise around it. Plenty of those HPA boys at my CQB too, never had any issues.

Only had a BB break skin once when I got shot just above the eyebrow, I do believe that was fired from a GBBR.

  5. looking forward to a few things:

    • playing more, life's got a bit hectic of late
    • giving the MP7 a run out
    • the eldest's birthday when he'll be allowed to play too
    • off the back of that, potentially playing a full day outside as the aforementioned hectic life (kids eh!) currently means I've only played CQB, mid-week, in the evening
      • hopefully seeing the boy's enjoyment after his first game and not heading home for an early bath
  6. The press officer is just that, if you want to effect change you need to go to the right part of the organisation, go and speak to the chairperson or secretary privately where the conversation can be constructive. There are ways of doing things and I don't believe that you'll get the answers or change you are looking for on a thread in a forum.

Better still, if you really want to make changes to the way UKAPU is run then get involved, elected officer or not, I'm sure they'd welcome your passion for ensuring things are done right.

Happy to sign up for UKAPU if anyone wants a nomination for a position at the next AGM - once they've given proper notice and we get the nomination in more than 45 days ahead of the vote of course.

Personally, I'd not heard of UKAPU before this thread, it's been interesting to find out what they do.

Not when you're running power limits higher than most outdoor sites for CQB.

    This.

Weirdly the website says max 350fps on a 0.2 (1.13j), but in the same sentence says they chrono at 1.3j using 0.25's - which is it? 1.3j is kicking on for 375fps on a 0.2.

Of course it could be a typo and it's missing the extra '1' but I'll bet someone's setting their pew up for 1.3j "cos it says so on the website".

  8. What’s not helping are the amount of YT videos out there that give the wrong impression of what we do - it’s not kills every few seconds, everyone’s not a cheater and pews aren’t laser accurate.

Spoke to a guy last night and his only impression of Airsoft was from stumbling across YT videos and the above is exactly what he thought we did. Of course I set him straight, but that’s what we’re up against when trying to attract new people into the sport.

I don’t think interest in general is waning, it’s not the kind of activity that shouts about itself, so it’s pretty hard to gauge anyway. I’d say that growth is organic though with players inviting others along and getting them hooked.

I suspect that there are so many guns in circulation in the USA that you are truly fucked.

👆 This. I can't think of a single scenario that successfully moves the US away from tens of thousands of innocent people giving their life every year just so that others can have the right to own a gun on the off-chance they need to overthrow the government - let's not get into the debate that when they had the chance they opted to fight to keep a corrupt government in power, the exact opposite of what the second amendment is all about.

The question is, how long until our nodding-dog political peers follow suit and update VCRA to mandate that all RIFs must now be transparent, pink or shaped like a banana irrespective of your UKARA status.

The wording posted above states one of the markings from 1272.3, one of those is an orange muzzle which is pretty much what they have now right? It appears that the US could do worse than adopting our VCRA rather than anything the other way around.

What I can't work out is what the problem is that this is trying to solve?

If they're hell-bent on registering stuff then surely they're better off registering all the actual guns first / at the same time?

I don't recall ever seeing a news story that said 'mass shooting stopped by 76-year old Grandma with a Smith & Wesson', they all end with either suicide or shot by police. In fact according to this article a whopping 3% of active attacks were stopped by a civilian over 21 years, that's 13 in real terms - or to put it another way, 0.62 per year.

Let's face it, if 'MoRe GuNz' was the answer then America would be the safest place on the planet, but it seems that in reality that's not the case.
