Got hit in the head with trmr that some tit decided to throw.
Had to sit out a few games until the world straightened out.

Something I've been hunting for quite a while now:
Hudson IMI Jericho 941 GBB, silver version
Very rare gun from the early 2000's, uses the Maruzen GBB system from their P99. One of only 3 airsoftguns Hudson has ever built and the only GBB of this pistol.
Had to install wood grips on this (they're almost drop in, just have to remove a little from the heightened wood part on the inside, so that it fits the pocket of the frame), back then I only found ones with the newer "IWI" name. Recently found ones with "IMI", they're on their way now

Surprisingly tight measurements for an old japanese plastic GBB

Favourites are quite individual, but if he has a prefered style of platform then it should be fairly straight forward to decide on a particular rif based on its features within a given budget. I'd also recommend trying to get to a shop or asking about on a game day, to see if folk would let him try it for size.
Some rifs look great but get heavy when your carrying them all day.

I started off by going alone. It can be a little daunting but if you already trued playing in the past you'll be fine. You'll soon find players willing to work with you to push objectives and support you.

Welcome to the slippery slippery slope.
On what to expect, just be open, call your hits and have fun. You should find airsofters are a friendly lot.
I'm staffs based but out with a knee op so I'll see you on the field later in the year.

Having had to wear eye pro for years with work and then on the airsoft field it's not worth chancing anything "cheap" you only get one set of eyes.
The boiler safety glasses have stood me well for years with work so picked up some trackers for airsoft. They worked great, I treated mine with mucoff anti fog, as I do all my goggles, and they were fog free always.
However they did recently fail. On a night game they took a round directly to the frame just on the bottom curve, by the bridge of the nose, and the frame split popping the lense out of the frame.
Not a great issue at the time as I always carry a second set of eye pro in a pouch but worth worth noting, through they did there job and always consider eye pro as a perishable asset.
Currently I'm wearing ess ice glasses and i feel they are even better than the bolle. More coverage, lighter and interchangeable lenses. Worth the extra cost.

I'd certainly look awaiting the rear plate for a bladder of some kind then, use it as a way of adding weight to the rear of the carrier. But use water so you can fine tune the weight. If you don't want it sloshing foam can be used as soft baffles.
I have a source bladder in the plate pocket if my was901 back panel which worked a treat balancing epg gas mags for my masada.

Have a look at the hydro plates. You could use one as a load an then have another bladder for the drinking.
You could adjust the weight then to offset a variety of loadouts.

if you want a plate carrier then have a plate carrier, but its true that you get what you pay for.

Whe i first started playing i when for a plate carrier, a cheaper on, and it did carry mags well but it didnt breath well, got very hot, it was tricky to adjust and if you wanted to change the pouches it wasnt something you could do mid game (all my rifs seem to be different calibers), addmitted ly the last wasnt an issue when starting.
After deciding i needed a change so went for a chest rig, much easier to move, much cooler temperature wise when playing fast, just as much space for pouches and as it happens it was a scalable setup, being that it was a Warrior 901 chest rig, so i could add back panels etc at a later date.
if i were starting again, or advising someone who wants to get something now but like the idea of plate carriers then Id suggest looking at the small warrior chest rigs, which are velco back and can connect to the new style of modular PC.  the smaller rigs are affordable, and can be found second hand, strong and well designed so they will last, and if you do want a pc in the end you can just remove the straps and clip it on to the PC. itll give you something to start with and progress to a better design and much better rig if and when you do.

eg. currently i use a warrior recon carrier and changing primary i just rip off the front panel and swap for a different setup, and grab the appropriate rif

Have a look at the warrior assault holster. It's universal hold type and can be sized for most pistols, it molle mounts so could go on the front. I'd look at the warrior pistol mag pouches too.
I have run both fornyears and theybhave been great, built restful tough and hold mags really well (I've never lost one despite never closing them).
If you don't fancy having them on your front you could also look for a molle belt panel that you slide over any belt. I'm sure you can find the on hueys and tactical kit uk

I try to drink plenty of water the few days before playing to make sure tissues are well hydrated and then carry a camelbak bladder in a sleeve on my kit.
Running gas mags water also helps balance the weight.
The number of folk I've seen wilted out due to poor hydration is silly and I tend to stay away from energy drinks.
However i do use a mineral addition for recovery if playing a double header / over night game. Drink towards the end of the day.

Works well for track riding and running about with pew pews

I run a trmr and a vtg, both have been great and 100 blanks goes a long way.
I do use pyro too as some of the sites I pkay at have strict rules regards use of the heavier weight blank firing units.
For example flicking the pyro through a first floor window, which isn't allowed with bfg units.
It's the finding the tools for each job and I tend to run three fizzies, trmr and the vtg and that will do the day.
My limited experience of the bb launch type units isnt great and the best I've seen from them isn't worth the cost and admittedly there might be better ones but I won't be picking any up based on what I've seen.
