  1. if you want a plate carrier then have a plate carrier, but its true that you get what you pay for. Whe i first started playing i when for a plate carrier, a cheaper on, and it did carry mags well but it didnt breath well, got very hot, it was tricky to adjust and if you wanted to change the pouches it wasnt something you could do mid game (all my rifs seem to be different calibers), addmitted ly the last wasnt an issue when starting. After deciding i needed a change so went for a chest rig, much easier to move, much cooler temperature wise when playing fast, just as much space for pouches and as it happens it was a scalable setup, being that it was a Warrior 901 chest rig, so i could add back panels etc at a later date. if i were starting again, or advising someone who wants to get something now but like the idea of plate carriers then Id suggest looking at the small warrior chest rigs, which are velco back and can connect to the new style of modular PC. the smaller rigs are affordable, and can be found second hand, strong and well designed so they will last, and if you do want a pc in the end you can just remove the straps and clip it on to the PC. itll give you something to start with and progress to a better design and much better rig if and when you do. eg. currently i use a warrior recon carrier and changing primary i just rip off the front panel and swap for a different setup, and grab the appropriate rif
  2. Skyrc make solid chargers do various models to suit different needs, have one and its been great for the years that I've owned it. I also use an isdt charger. They aren't quite as simple but offer a great deal more flexibility. The imax chargers are fine if you get an original but the rc and quad world is plagued with clones and knockoffs which, having seen inside some of them, are potentially dangerous.
  3. I have the 308 variety of the tr16 and so far it's been great. Went 308 as the site I play want dmr in calibre greater than 5.56, meaning long m4 doesn't count. I have the parts to dmr it I just haven't done it yet as it was so good running it as a battle rifle. Size of mag well aside, they are more or less the same internally. Weak point would be the mosfet, but perun make an upgrade unit which is cheap and plugs straight in. The only other change I'd note is that the piston head isn't ported but not everyone wants ported. It hopped point 3s out of the box and ran about 338fps (on .2s). Would I buy it again. Yes.
  4. The guys i play with have all got a boafeng radios, non of them have licenses but program them for pmr use. So I jumped on the bandwagon and its an easy setup to do and help enough.
  5. I have smoked lipos in the past, nit with airsoft use though, I'd rather be safe than sorry. If your using the alarm.and it keeps sounding when your firing then the battery if suffering voltage drop. This can often a symptom of the battery not being able to supply the amp draw that is being demanded by the system. High C batteries are less susceptible to it but it will come down the setup as to how draw is being put on the battery.
  6. It has the efc but it is the earlier version rather than the later blue version, which is the same as the one as the honey badger had/have, and can be programmed. The information I found online stated that it is the blue efcs units could use the card. To be fair it's been fine over the years and never stopped running and has performed well. That might be good. Thanks I'll have a closer look.
  7. I have a few if these but they are tad tight so I was hoping for something much smaller, similar in size to the likes of a perun etu++ unit but without all the functions etc.
  8. morning all, i have an ares g36c which is gettig some work thrown in to it and i would like to be able to run it on lipos without having to run a voltage meter display thing. It also has the ares electronic trigger in it so a full V3 optical might not fit so didnt want to drop a load of funds on it. So really what i need, is an inline voltage piece that beeps for dectected voltage drops so i dont cripple a lipo. Anyone have any ideads as to what is about or recommend one they have used for similar safety measures?
  9. If the box is a standard v3 ak box and the bullpup setup would normally us a trigger lever system, you could use it and drop something like the titan optical in. It can have the sensitivity ramped up so that even with the lever system in place you aren't increasing the ratio movement need to fire by adding the leverage.
  10. Check your motor height screw. They arent thread locked from the factory and they have a tendency to walk with the rof with the short stroked piston and gears. If it has walked into the bevel gear then you'll get a beep from the mosfet as the gears will jam.
  11. Go straight to uktactical.com. Uk tactical are one of was dealers and he service I've had there over the years has always been great. They often to additional discounts via mail list codes
  12. Black is not a great colour for cqb, rarely will there be a black area of the same hue to blend with. I play a solid mix of cqb and fibua and always wear a mix of greys, tans. Positioning and movement will be of much more help than camo would be. Rif wise, the g5 will be great, I've played with one and loved it but not quite as much as my mp9. Anything short works really well, but longer rifs aren't too much of a hindrance if you practice a bit and colour, go with what you like as long as it's matt it'll hide in the shadows.
  13. It depends on who and what site your members of. I had my ukara through first and only and recently if they said that if you have had it with them in the past then they would look at reactivating your ukara if you pay your membership fees again.
  14. Have a look at the warrior assault holster. It's universal hold type and can be sized for most pistols, it molle mounts so could go on the front. I'd look at the warrior pistol mag pouches too. I have run both fornyears and theybhave been great, built restful tough and hold mags really well (I've never lost one despite never closing them). If you don't fancy having them on your front you could also look for a molle belt panel that you slide over any belt. I'm sure you can find the on hueys and tactical kit uk
  15. Having done it both ways it depends on the pattern you want to end up with and what tips you have available for your use. I'd suggest a larger flat tip for a base pattern/texture then a smaller tip to refine then pattern. The larger tip can be used to create a base shape without mass removal of material giving you more meat to work with, and if it all goes wrong that margin can be dremeled off and you can have another crack at it.
  16. I use a field charge setup when I'm flying quads. An isdt charger running of a large capacity 6s pack and then use that to charge the smaller packs on a parallel board. I've done this for all sorts of batteries and it works great. It's a great charger very efficient with lots of options and setting to charge what you need.
  17. The lab run by first and only. Old dairy plant; lots of dark, lots of corners, twisted routes and a mix of floors and split levels.
  18. I wasn't aware of the Monica cqb site. I've googled remer Street and that's not too far from home. I went to their website via Google and it doesn't seem to be working every well or detail how to get in touch other than through Facebook. Ill keep digging though.
  19. Morning all. I'm after some help finding some night games, or dark games around the Stoke on trent area. I started playing airsoft years ago and there used to be a plentiful supply if night games about on a mixture of sites but after a bit of time away (kids, work, etc) I'm returning to find them few and far between. I played the few this year that first and only ran at anzio and throughly enjoyed myself but since they aren't running them at the moment I'm trying to find other sites and companies that run them but with much success. Admittedly being out of it for a bit doesn't help and not being on any form of social media also won't aid things but as neither of those two facts are going to be able to change I'm asking for a little help in finding sites or known night games.
  20. Ive been using devil blaster for the longest time and I've never had any issues with them and consistency down range has been great. I also used geoffs tracer .3 recently and they ran well too matching the .3 devils in a tracer salad mix. I've used nuprol rzr bbs for indoor, as it was indoor site and they had limits on weights, so in had to used what they sold on site but they weren't bad.
  21. I use a warrior assault pistol holster. I've not found pistol it won't carry, unless you run lights, and it's taken an absolute hammering over the years.
  22. Not being on faceache I missed the news. Grange is a great site and loosing it is shame, I've played there quite a bit and had some great days there.
  23. I have WE M9. Co2 all metal. I've used it as my side arm outdoor and run it solo on indoor cqb. It's taken it all and done very well and turned a few heads on the way, it's not subtle in any way. It just works.
  24. Mp9 rules. It's great fun indoor and out. Mine is efficient on gas and is easy to maintain. Can bikt for indoor and high power bolt for outdoor depending on your site.
  25. I tried a tracer with the 4AA batteries in a suppressor and found it annoying as it added a lump if weight on the end of a long barrel. Ive got a xcortech mk2 now and it's great. The uv keeps light signature down. It weights nothing and it can be fit inside a variety of suppressor and flash hiders if you want too I've dont it sometimes depending on the look I want that day.
