  1. Well you can take it from a not so new account that all 3 of those new accounts matches my experiences with only airsoft. Very friendly staff and I have always had a laugh with them whenever I go in store. Most of my aisoft arsenal has been purchased through their shop, and I will happily continue shopping with them. I had an issue with the WA2000 I bought from them where the bolt jammed as i tried to cock it. Took the gun back to them and they had it fixed within 2 weeks. I have been shopping with them for the past 2 ½ years since I started airsoft, and my brother has been using them for even longer
  2. Oh, I was going to shop around... I just found the parts listed on DCA while looking up what I needed.
  3. OK, so call me insane, but over the weekend, I have had a mad urge to modify my tippmann m4v2 into an L119A2. So I know that there are a bunch of angry gun parts that are made for this purpose, so my main question is will these parts fit the tippmann, or will I need to look at custom parts? (Basically all these parts... https://www.davescustomairsoft.co.uk/index.php?route=product/search&search=L119a2 ) Also, I am aware that GBB and AEG buffer tubes are different diameters, so will I require a real steel Magpull stock? Or will the real steel stock be too sloppy?
  4. Picked up a bargain last weekend at the shift your rifts event at Abingdon, but only just got round to posting... 15 x Madbull XM204 CO2 moscarts plus a bag full of spare O-rings and fill valves... for £300 spending today stripping them all to replace any perished O-rings and lubricate them all to ensure they are ready for next game day.
  5. Thank you rogerborg. As for the puttees.... They didn't seem to sit right over the boots I was wearing, so I rushed off to the briefing without putting them on. Next time though, I should have a better pair of boots that aren't so chunky
  6. I was also at the shift your rifts event both days. Ran my new ww1 kit on the Saturday. I need to get a proper canvas holster for the webley, but they are currently out of stock, plus I am struggling to find decent, comfortable replica or lookalike "ammo" boots that don't cost stupid amounts of money, so I just used my spare work boots, but other than that, I'm happy with the way it looks (Also, no idea why the last photo keeps uploading on its side... on my phone its upright and nothing I do will change its orientation)
  7. I believe there is a prize.... And your prize iiiiiiiiiss.... NOTHING! Now go forth and find more Macks fodder for us to enjoy.... =P
  8. Been buying quite a few things over the past couple of weeks... First off, I bought a replica ww1 uniform from soldier of fortune. After asking advice on this forum, I spoke to a couple of re-enactors who all say they sourced their kit from SoF, so that's where I went.. (Haven't photographed the webbing, as it just looks like a tangled mess, but I do have it 😃 ) Already fitted a Northamptonshire regiment badge to the cap.. Next I purchased some spare magazines for the Lee Enfield, as well as a red dot sight with riser rail and a patch. I also bought a dog tag striker pad... (because I am fed up with the striker pads on my pyro falling off) All bought from Socom tactical and then finally... Today I purchased a real steel BSA No.9 peephole rear sight with matching mount plate for the SMLE... I just need to make up a longer screw to go through the upper hole as well as the safety lever... (currently it just has one lower screw and the original spacer holding it in place)
  9. I will be at this event on both days. Got a few bits I want to sell, but also going to be playing. I'm planning to run my Lee enfield and my newly acquired ww1 kit, so if you see me, it would be nice if we could meet to say hello and put faces to a names
  10. Personally, I run mine with .32 valkyrie BBs, never had any issues. I have also recently upgraded mine with a poseidon barrel and maple leaf hop rubber (but am thinking of swapping it for a madbull red shark rubber)
  11. not really =P but in fairness i have been doing the same thing today as i wasnt feeling 100% this week and decided to skip airsoft this weekend, but i will be back out next weekend.
  12. I am considering that bayonet... but before I spend any more money, I need to see if I can fix the faults on the webley to get it in skirmish condition
  13. Bought a rubber bayonet for my Lee enfield, along with a rubber commando Dagger for a ww2 loadout, both from vintage airsoft. Also bought a Webley from @strykerles that has a couple of issues needing rectification... something to tinker with at the weekend.
  14. Nice. How much fettling was required to get the nose cap to fit? Thinking of doing the same to mine. I dont have a real bayonet, but I did purchase a rubber replica from vintage airsoft (along with a rubber commando Dagger for a seperate ww2 loadout) , so at least I can skirmish with it Crap pics I know, I took them late last night...
  15. sorry, but im calling bullshit on that... RIFT use them in all their rentals, and majority of players i know use them in their guns and i havent heard anyone mention issues with valkyries. add to that that everything i have seen of negative airsoft is basically him slagging everything and everyone off... im going to take his opinion with a pinch an entire lorry load of salt. i concede that they MAY have had a bad batch slip through the net, but the same can be said of almost all bb brands...
  16. Valkyrie have recently started selling heavyweight BBs, .40 bio and .45 non bios, with more options on the way but delayed due to the pandemic. personally i havent used their heavy BBs yet as i my snipers arent set up to a point i can use them in a game, but i always use their .25 and .32 BBs in my other guns, and wouldnt go back to another brand.
  17. My airsoft day could have gone better... though most of the issues I had weren't the sites fault... allow me to explain... My brother phoned me up last week and asked if I wanted to go to z-mart with him this weekend, so I agreed, knowing that I was going to have a shit week at work, and needed a good de-stress at the end... Got parked up next to the site and was outside waiting as one of the first in line... doors opened and I found out the safe zone is upstairs... three trips to move my kit and trolley upstairs and I was able to start bombing up. My brother rather helpfully decided not to give me a hand moving the trolley, instead mocking me for bringing it (despite the fact even HE didn't know the SZ was upstairs either) which was overheard by the marshals (this detail is important for later...) but I was thankful to a fellow player who gave me a lift with the trolley. Bombed up and headed to chrono and hit my next problem... the tippmann was firing hot... back to safe zone to adjust it, and found that the Allen key I needed was missing from my toolkit, and no one else's allen keys would fit due to them having metric sizes, but the tippmann being american has imperial sizes... found a torx key that fitted and got the adjustment done just in time. Out to game briefing, to have the head Marshall ask me to swap my usual helmet setup due to concerns a ricochet might get through the small gap between the back of the mandible guard and my cheek. Never had an issue before, but thankfully I did have a GSR respirator I could swap it for... Game and safety briefs were clear, concise and to the point (though I do wonder what the hell happened to get "do not indecently expose yourself" added to the brief...) First games were zombie games, and the head marshal called my brother forward and announced that he had stiched himself up by not helping me earlier, and as such he was the zombie for round 1... (I didn't laugh... much). Did reasonably well considering I didn't know the site, and into round 2. End of round 2 and got spot checked, only to find the tippmann was now varying wildly between shots, though the Marshall that did initial chrono spoke in defence and said it was consistent at chrono. I agreed with the head Marshall to switch to a backup gun, and broke out the SMC9 for its first use in anger... took me ages to swap the mag pouches from m4 to a couple of mp5 pouches on my rig. The only issue I had after swapping guns was that I couldn't aim properly down the red dot sight I had in the smc due to the GSR I was wearing, and in the low light I couldn't see where my bbs were going. Fixed that by charging one of my tracer units off my battery bank and then running tracer bbs all afternoon... at least then I could see where I was shooting.. Really enjoyed the "escort the bomb" games, and on game 2, playing offense, we managed to wipe the enemy team and get the bomb into their spawn, claiming a win.. Then there was the objective grab, trying to capture various objects placed in the centre of the map downstairs and get them back to respawn.. I definately got lit up in that game, but managed to snag a few objectives for our team. End of the day and managed to get all my kit downstairs and loaded in the car. Went to pay for parking.... FOURTEEN BLOODY QUID!!! ON A SUNDAY!
  18. yeah, this is pretty much the reason. and i can understand the reasoning, especially for the younger players that dont have as much money to throw around... (pun not intended)
  19. i dont really believe anything any news source says. the past few years has made me jaded beyond my years.... and as for the propaganda claim that ukraine attacked first... its the same excuse the Nazis used to justify invading poland... they claimed that poland had attacked a german radio station at Gleiwitz and then broadcast a propaganda message to the german people in polish.... despite the fact it was really an SS unit that attacked the radio station... then the next day the tanks were rolling across the border https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gleiwitz_incident too late... airsoft cardiff have already stepped onto that particular landmine... getting back to the issue initially raised.. though not really saying anything that hasnt already been said... I don't have any russian kit, but if i did, then at this moment in time, i would avoid wearing it to avoid any possible issues (offended snowflake or pond-scum journalist out with their big wooden shit-stirring spoon) i had been planning on purchasing an AK and getting some eastern-bloc gear (not necessarily russian), but given what's going on in Ukraine, i will be holding off on those plans as well.. i know a few guys who do run russian gear and if they decide they want to run it, I personally don't care. at the end of the day we are all playing dress-up and shooting each other with toy guns.
  20. site i go to often adds "or hollywood action heroes" on the end of that line... RIFT do this, but also cover many of the more important or obscure rules in the actual briefing as well, such as the "no running from grenades" rule that i havent seen at any other site. answer to that is to have the head marshal/site owner remove it, then set it up again next game day... avoids vandalism and allows the rule board to be amended if required
  21. Bit of a late reply, but thank you for the reply and the warning. Do you have any links to active reenactment groups I could try contacting? Only item I have bought from SOF was a sling for my STEN, so I havent run into the issues you mentioned. I'm assuming (and please correct me if I'm wrong) that the uniforms breaking that you mentioned were from SOF, just a different era to the ww1 set I linked?
  22. I think I speak for all those who bought the first batch (many probably wishing to avoid missing out and forever regretting it) when I say...
  23. thank you everyone for all your comments, and sorry i havent replied sooner. yeah, i spoke to someone else about this subject and they agree, with collar badges in ww1 being mainly worn by officers yeah, i figured that was the case, but im going to have to carry both simply due to the fact the lee enfield isnt suitable for more cqb areas at the sites i play at.. plus if and when i upgrade it, it will be over the FPS and joule limits, so i will need a sidearm. probably going to go with a later war uniform, probably 1917 ok, so probably not going to be applicable to the uniform im putting together sounds about right for the army XD will give them a look, though i do personally hate having to use facebook. and good call re: the stitch counters i did browse amazon and found some "men at arms" books from Osprey, should have them this week and will see if they shine anymore light on the subject i havent looked at aliexpress, but i have heard some horror stories relating to them, so im a bit dubious about using them
