  1. It was an AEG mag, didn't fit in the MWS magwell comfortably
  2. Bodged this up with an old pmag and some brackets. I get a really nice "floating gun" effect on my wall
  3. If DU rounds passed, you can always use matter from a neutron star.
  4. This. I have half a dozen of the Iron Airsoft Pmags..... if I don't store them fully pressured at a stable ambient temperature then they'll leak all their gas out and I spend a fun Saturday evening dunking them in hot water.
  5. I can't add much to this convo.... Kls77, you were clearly tucked up. I assume neither you nor your mate had a crystal ball or tarot deck to ascertain that the marshalls expected you to pass with .30g bbs? I am absolutely for spot checking and zero tolerance toward people cheating. However, unless the site CLEARLY states their policies and procedures in this regard beforehand (on website, physical site notices and briefing), then enforcing your arbitrary rules that you have written on the back of your hand just makes you look like a bully and a wanker. Just a thought, if your friend had passed with the marshals 0.3g ammo, would the marshal have put increasingly heavier ammo in until your friends gun failed chrono? What's the heaviest ammo you can get?
  6. Took a while and one form that UPS had me fill in but it arrived last week no problem. Actually surprised as UPS is an absolute shit show usually
  7. About 10 years ago I bought up someone's entire kit. Kept the bits I wanted and sold the bits I didn't. Made most of my money back. You'll be cutting your own throat if you sell everything in one go.
  8. “......you can’t blame people for being worried if they see someone in camo gear waving a gun around.” Yeah you can, if the "gun" is a bright red toy. ?
  9. Totally agree, some episodes I really disliked but some have really stuck with me.
  10. There's a great episode called In Vaulted Halls Entombed, kinda can't say much without giving anything away but it combines a few things that I really like. I was however triggered by pic related. Must be a clone.
  11. I wouldn't play at a site that mandated face pro. I find anything covering my face to be incredibly uncomfortable and distracting. Absolutely more than happy to take the risk. As for injuries, 2 spring to mind. First one was I had dislocated an ankle whilst rock climbing during the week. On the Sunday, I bound it up super tight, put my boots on and promised myself I'd 'take it easy', halfway through the day I vaulted over a fence and dislocated my other ankle. Second was at a tiny cqb site called the body farm. They had a small van with 2 open sliding doors in the play area. I ran and jumped into it and out the other site. Unfortunately I caught my scalp in the top door sill. It peeled a part of my scalp back like the lid on a sardine tin. Had to get stitches and have a bald spot there to this day.
  12. Bought my first 'proper' RIF from a site called Ebaybanned around 2007/2008, seemed a bit shady but damn I wanted that Kart M14 EBR so bad. Also bought a JG G36 around the same time. So, with 2 RIF's, me and various Buddies would run around various patches of woodland in South Wales playing 1v1. 2009 I played my first actual game of airsoft at Dragon Valley, proceeded to play every game there for about a year before starting to try other sites. God damn I miss the DV forums.
  13. I've had days like that, for some reason I'm just not feeling it. I think like you woodland sites don't do it for me any more. Just draw a ine under it and rock out at your next skirmish ? I thought mesh at first. I see BB's shatter all the time so wouldn't even consider using mesh. How do the polycarbonate goggles affect your contact lenses?
  14. Not sure why that would be. I get direct hits to my eye pro at close range VERY often and have never had a single issue. I can only think that perhaps the impact deformed your goggles causing them to apply pressure to your eye or area around it. Objectives are so much sweeter when you mug them off the opposing team.
  15. OK, so that's pretty much what I figured. I thought there might be a reason I was unaware of that made more sense. Surely if you're playing close quarters you should expect to get shot at very close range, at energies up to 1j no matter what the weight? I mean, 1j stings but its not earth shattering. I honestly don't see the problem here.
  16. Maybe someone uses heavy BB's because they mainly play outdoors and doesn't want to have to buy separate weight BB's for CQB. Funnily enough, the Bunker (south Wales) doesn't allow weight over .25g which seems strange to me. Surely the weight makes little to no difference as long as the muzzle energy is 1j
  17. Hate anything covering my face, literally prefer being shot in the face.... and I do.... all the time lol Yeah, marshaling wasn't the issue for me either. Sometimes they can't fix a poor day. And honestly, weirdly, one of my favourite things in Airsoft is a sweet mutual. Trading hits with a player, fist bump and a compliment of "well played" then back to respawn. I love it.
  18. Went to The Bunker CQB last night for a bit of pew on my way home from work. The first two TDM games were great, then there were a few 'get the bomb in the Land Rover' games, where after each game, a different 5 players were selected to defend the Landy. All great fun so far. Now, The Bunker is definitely the smallest site I've ever played. Which suits me fine as I love CQB. However, as I found last night, as soon as issues arise with people nor taking hits, or being perceived to not take their hits, then the mood of the whole place goes south way faster than at a bigger site. I personally experienced 2 instances of a guy not taking his hits from me (I was using a tracer, he was 6 feet from me and I had him illuminated with 1500 lumens). I notified the marshal and went to cool off (this was after a couple of other incidents where I was pretty sure I hit someone who wouldn't take their hits but wasn't 100% positive). In the SZ, a couple of other people were there also complaining about the same thing. Between games, the marshal came to me to say he'd had words with a couple of players including the one who I mentioned. The next game started OK, I managed to push to a little corner. I saw some enemy tracer fire go past my POV so I popped put of the corner and shot the guy whilst he was still firing. In fairness, his reaction before I shot him was quick but the shot that he reflexively fired didn't get me. He called his hit, then added in a shitty tone "and so are you". I concede that there is a possibility that a trade took place but I didn't feel anything (tshirt, jeans, no chest rig, range was 2'). Maybe he hit my gun but gun hits don't count. Anyway, it occurred to me that it'd gotten to to point where people would assume that you were cheating and I was no longer enjoying the play. Shame really as its a great site and I'm definitely going back. Also, got shot a beaut right on the nose
  19. What an absolutely thoroughly smashing bloke. Really good deal you got there bud ?
  20. Never used any kind of optics for over 10 years, then got an Eotech at a bargain price and haven't looked back since. I'm honest enough to admit the perceived improvement in my shooting probably isn't all that great but that, added to the cool factor has definitely made it worth it. The 68moa circle I'd say is definitely more beneficial in airsoft than the dot. I have since bought a Vortex viper for my glock, mainly for the looks, though I've found that the main benefit is when engaging targets over 10m away, especially if they are ducking in and out of cover.
  21. Totally agree with you on 1911's looking great. Honestly, you could have the best performing pistol, but if you're not into the look, then it's not for you. Will definitely jump on the TM bandwagon here. I had a TM 1911A1 for a couple of years which I skirmished all the time. Yeah sometimes the gas would run out before the BB'S but I carry 5+ pistol mags as a rule. Depends on how much you intend to use it really. If you really only pull your pistol out occasionally for the odd shot, literally buy whatever you like the look of. Pretty much anything will be up to that kind of use. If you use your pistol a LOT (or plan to), you should maybe think in terms of practicality and performance over aesthetics. Currently using a TM Glock that my missus bought me a few years back. Ugly as sin but it's an incredible gun. On a full game day I'll put 500 rounds through it no problem. Hope my rambling has made sense and helped somewhat. I'm not proof reading all that shit lol
  22. Love it, one of my first ever RIF's was a Kart M14 EBR. Good choice!
  23. https://www.evike.com/products/27351/ Evike have some nice licensed Strike Industries goodies for the MWS so I ordered one of these barrels for my DMR.
