Sorry but it is far from the next best thing to Crye!

If it comes as a surprise that it is made in China  it's because WAS gear is a bit overhyped. Its good stuff, don't get me wrong, but its certainly not "bomb proof" as I like to bore people with, the only bit of tactical nylon i've actually managed to break was a WAS pouch. I put it on par with other chinese brands be it TMC or flyye or whatever, (but not like 8fields or w/e). Some WAS stuff is well priced - some of their stuff seems to have a massive mark up. I'd buy WAS stuff again sure but you can do cheaper, you can do better, and for some stuff you can do both... just imo.

@ImpulseI understand your point re context but go and listen to and actually read the evidence as presented. Its difficult to find any context other than him being a massive fucking racist, its not borderline being misconstrued, its downright offensive to most sane people.

As for is it relevant to airsoft?  I would argue it is.  If he, as a high profile member of the 'community' (I really dislike that word) is holding such views then it reflects on the rest of us if we allow him to remain part of that grouping and any failure to act to express our condemnation of these views could be viewed to be tacitly condoning them.  Therefore, its is absolutely right in my mind to link the two and call him out on them.  HOW you call them out on them (emphasis added) is the part that has been going wrong.

I don't care if you think people are being dicks. I'm interested in proper solutions and the obvious solution is increasing sickpay and other measures of (mostly financial) support. I personally don't have the stomach to criticise people when I've been working from home no dramas no loss of income etc. People need support to follow the rules. There is the carrot and there is the stick and I think here the carrot is much more helpful.

"When you allow students to go back to universities, they WILL go to the bar, they WILL get pissed and the rules of social distancing WILL go out the window. Is that the governments fault? No."

The simple answer here to is to suggest, given this, that students should not of returned to university.

I'm happy to accept evidence and change my mind, this is not a matter of faith to me, it is just my opinion. But all you have provided is anecdotes which is obvious to anyone. Have people broken the rules? Of course! Have, given everything, the public "behaved" quite well - yes. Not to sound silly but we are talking about "the public" as in, the entire population! Evidently personal responsibility comes into play but to say this is purely a matter of individual responsibility is nonsensical. The only reason lockdowns are effective is that people follow the rules.

sorry but i think this is very unfair. I think the general public have for the most part gone above and beyond. Where there have been issues is due largely in part to low levels of sick pay, which is 100% the fault of the government. Stephen Reicher has discussed this in more detail. Also note the massive spike in cases come September which to my amateur eyes seems attributable to a degree of seasonality, but in any case its hard to attribute that to the public's behaviour. It may not always be appropriate to apportion blame but if you do come on the side of blaming the public, not those with power who are making decisions, it is worth considering why.

edit: Shamal I think it is probably a good idea for you to take the vaccine, as if there is a sufficient "critical mass" of vaccine refuseniks then this could impact on the overall effectiveness. But you are quite right to point out the discrepancy between holding the opinions of "vaccines don't do anything for transmission" and "we should have vaccine passports". But I would also like to add that if you say you are not a vaccine sceptic, but would decline to take the vaccine.. that does seem like vaccine scepticism, even if you say it isn't. Taking a vaccine for the sake of public health is not the same as not drinking at all so as to reduce your individual "burden" on the health care system, but is more similar to just not drinking when you have to drive, I think.

It’s generally a disease on poverty. In the late summer Cornwall nearly sank under the weight of generally higher wage earning emmets (holiday makers), afterwards they were in the lowest tiers prior to lockdown so covid had not been imported.
blackpool, Scarborough etc the traditional “working class” holiday destinations were like WWZ and were in tier 4 pretty much as soon as possible

My slow grow on the Crye chest rig ended up not being particularly slow grow at all. A lot of inspiration taken from the Reptile House blog (read as 'largely stolen entire set up'), as many seem to with this particular rig. I am planning on picking up one of the Crye stretch panels at some point but couldn’t resist the draw of the regular detachable flap. Alongside that there’s a 6x6x3 GP pouch, a full length KYWI, a TacBelts AVS adapter and a bunch of WTFix straps. Looking forward to messing around with this over the weekend to see what setup I land on.

Also had a BCM stock turn up which I completely forgot about ordering.

    I run 2 Dynatex timed
One in 9mm and the other normally in 12g flavour
Allowed the 12g at our site (if it re opens after COVID)
Being sensible just using the 9mm through a window, the bigger one just for open spaces in the woodland 👍
again, wouldn’t like it at my feet thought 😬😂

My obsession with gucci battle bras continues, was very happy with the Spiritus Micro Fight but couldn’t resist the temptation when the Crye AirLite came back in stock. Suffice to say ‘I have plans’ for that one, but I imagine that’ll be a slow grow project while waiting for the various components I want to be in stock. Frequently refreshing the Ferro Mini Dangler page in the hope they’re back in stock (in MC) before long, for no other reason than being impatient.

Very happy with an eBay find a week or so ago with a 10l Source Assault backpack (predominantly for HPA tanks to live in). And a few PDI barrels for various RIFs.

You can do far, far worse then buying from Aliexpress if I say so myself!!! I only had 1 issue where a vertical foregrip didn't make it past chinese customs (??) and I was refunded promptly. Worth a punt.

    Hi All
Been lurking for a while and thinking of giving airsoft a go as it looks like my kind of fun.
Lifetime shooter, mostly RS and old enough to have shot with handguns when we used to be allowed.
Just got a custom TM Hi Capa for IPSC Action Air 'Open' shooting and this got me looking at Airsoft.
Played some scenario/milsim paintball way back (still got the marker and some kit). The Mall at Reading, Copehill Down, night ops at an old industrial estate were the best games. Always played with a 20 round hopper so never a 'real' paintballer. Couldn't afford a box fed marker back then. Accuracy first, never 'spray and pray'.
Favourite tactic - flanking or better still 'get behind them and shoot them in the back'.
Comfortable with the M4 format, totally love the feel of an MP5, CQB has to be handgun and Tech stuff is half the fun.
Looking for my first gun like every other newbie but not in a hurry.
    That's me.
Advice, hints, tips or info always welcome.
    Cheers
    Rob

I am minded to think you should be ok. I've got done this myself but I know you can get a real surefire foregrip on the TM recoil g36k, which should be the same body as the g36c. I can't find any examples but I'd testify in court that people put on RS g36 foregrips onto ares g36s. As I understand it, WE use the same type of body as the Ares.

There are slight differences between g36 bodies, I have put a real sight rail on CA and JG g36s (which are clones of the og TM design) and it just about fits, but not 100% - some dremelling / filing is required to make the front bolt line up properly.

unless you're running true wanker rate of fire (and tbh even if you are) if it's properly maintained (cleaned and greased every now and then) the reliability is much better than an aeg of equivalent performance.

the simpler systems like the polarstar jack are stupidly easy to take apart for servicing although it's not the best system for accuracy.

mate of mine had a fusion engine for 5+ years with zero servicing still perfectly functional.

the only reason i ever took mine apart was to do things like swap poppets/nozzles for setup reasons rather than to fix any problems.

the good thing about rate of fire is if its too fast for the box you just turn it down until the box can feed.

have a read here will give you a better idea of what's involved, fitting an engine is actually pretty easy- it's dialing it in to perfection is hard.

Obviously depends on what you wind up needing to have your PSI set to, and just how much hosing you're doing. I've personally never managed to empty a single 48/3000 in a day so I'm struggling to see how you'd be able to churn through a pair of 68/4500s. Not to say you couldn't, but I dread to think what the ammo bill would be if you were to do so 😅.

I will caveat that by saying I run HPA largely due to the ease of maintenance and the ability to set my FPS and have it sit there consistently. I use the MTW because of real steel compatability. I don't make much use of many of the other 'advantages' (read as, stupidly high rate of fire) and predominantly only fire in semi unless the surrounding foliage sees fit that I need to briefly switch.

I believe @Adolf Hamster had a HPA'd MG42 at some point so he may be able to shed more light, but I could be entirely misremembering.

I'll also say I ended up doing a u-turn on my eventual conclusion at the end of this thread.

Well, Paintball has been hit pretty hard over the years so it makes sense that existing sites diversify into Airsoft to top-up the coffers.

So, with that in mind, here is a company that will start Airsoft walk-on days when (if??) lockdown is lifted at their two sites.

    http://www.camouflage-airsoft.com/

I've played paintball at the Bournemouth site some years back (I live 10 minutes away), and it was nicely setup - great safe zone, although the playing area was not exactly huge it does have some interesting features. It sounds like there a ~30v30 player cap so I reckon it'll be good for a giggle.

I appreciate it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's nice to post something about an Airsoft site opening up rather than closing down.
