RobHedley reacted to LVOA-D in THE TM MWS thread
Got a care package in the mail from Poland today so I am finally able to "finish" my Strike Industries build . Was only missing the takedown pins, buffer tube and adjustable scope mount, really happy with how the build turned out!

Haha! Yeh "wait a minute where you are" walks over with a surveyors trundle wheel 😂

Those findings are very interesting. I have no way of doing any controlled testing at measured ranges beyond about 55-60m (I use 50m as a nice standard range, makes some of the maths I do easier). During lockdown it’s more like 20m 😭.
I’d say I can get a good clean torso hit out to well beyond 75m, but I have no means to verify or test with multiple barrels as I’m usually at a skirmish. I may have to invest in a range finder then at least I can accurately verify shot distance at skirmishes (I assume walking towards someone you have just shot with a surveyors tape measure would not go down well 🤪).

I have a Mk12 upper (With it’s own BGC) for my MWS set up as a DMR. Currently firing bang on 315 FPS on a .4g bb (318 FPS on a .4g bb is equivalent to 450 on a .2g bb).
I didn’t upgrade much as far as the internals go to get the power and accuracy my list was:
- SixG Brass nub (so I can hop heavy BBs)
- npas valve (so I can tune the FPS, it goes higher as well as lower than stock).
- Maple Leaf Crazy Jet 455mm VSR Cut Barrel.
That’s it in terms of internals. In terms of externals you will need either a silencer or an 18inch outer barrel to cover that inner barrel (I was always going to do a MK12 upper so just chose the longest inner barrel that would fit in the 18” outer).
other than that everything else (sights, bipeds etc.) is optional.
There are other ways to go (e.g tighter bore barrel will get more FPS, so won’t need to be as long), but this was very cost effective and has been super reliable as I’m not messing with spring tensions or other stuff that could impact reliability.
As an aside I have found the stock TM hop rubber to be the best balance of performance and durability. There are hops that perform better (some of the maple leaf buckings and the modify tan spring to mind), but I have found they don’t last that long at DMR FPS.
Edit: just to add there are still a few turns left on the npas so I could go higher FPS.
Second Edit: I also permanently modified the safety/selector switch to semi only (needed to comply with U.K. law). There is a YouTube video on how to do this.

Have to say it's worked. Someone got a little twisted up by the ad though.
Had 3 messages wanting to buy. Job done I think.

My Strike Industries build so far. Decided not to sell the real steel parts after all as I am working towards my license for real practicing with real firearms. So I decided to buy a new MWS to fit it all too. As soon as they are back in stock however I will be buying another MWS to make a Block II FSP build (the one I was going to do instead of this ). So here it is, my "Strike Rifle", not finished yet but for the most part it is to my liking. Only upgrades I'm definitely going to do is get an SI Forward Assist, an SI buffertube and the SI Fang triggerguard and perhaps a set of real magpul pro mbus'.

@Lee85
Playing the "I'm new to this forum" card but seemingly skip over the appraisals & jump straight to the for sale section to peddle your goods
As any long term member would attest to, surely it's better to introduce yourself, if you're unsure on pricing instead of aiming high why put it to a consensus & ask for some opinions in the appraisals section?
Whilst the Mack's dreamers can at times be harsh, has been around since 2015 so not new news & its a course correction for something which isn't deemed worthy of the asking price / potentially bordering on (dare I say it) a bit of a rip off at which point members are obligated to flag this to other members & newbs - Macks actually does this forum & it's members a service & credit
Me for one value people's input & happy that people more educated on resell values than myself can offer others their steer & expertise.
As a newbie yourself I'm sure you wouldn't want your pants pulled down over items overpriced, so take this as a recommendation to yourself - Your goods are overpriced & don't represent value for money, hence the watch out for other potential buyers.

Such an effective value levelling system this thread.
Also shows just how many forums are actually full of hurtful trolls and so new people cannot see a genuine community past the veneer of this thread due to the common tone they are used too.
This is easily the most informative and useful forum around.
I suppose this thread actually works unintentionally as a good defensive barrier for the forum, filters the traffic 😁

Issues of a GBBR!?!!
There is no difference in accuracy between the two, in actual fact the inner barrel is 250mm 10" on both variants.
Pick whichever floats your boat.
Food for thought later down the line; a 10" and a suppressor makes for a quiet gun.
All you need is;
Nuprol gas or propane and an adapter.
Some decent BBs, Devil blaster or Geoff's if your flush lol in 0.28g
A genuine TM speed loader, 2-3 mags is fine.
They are the best gun OOTB period.

Just some thoughts on going full ham on weight.
I think increasing the bb size to make it heavier will not sort any magical effect, as the drag is also increased.
also found this.

Great news! After multiple delays and other bullshittery I'm finally getting an MWS again this monday! Can't wait to hold it in my arms again 😁. Couldn't find it anywhere in stock in the Netherlands so ordered from the UK, ended being cheaper even with the shipping so kudo's to the pricing over there! Now to hoard
a shitload of accesories to make it even better. Glad I kept some stuff from my previous MWS now!

Well this just got expensive. Started off life as an M4 carbine already had the mws handguard fitted and a friend has done the 'biro mod' as well as a few other bits before I take delivery and really make it my own
