  1. Have a google around and see if there are low flow valves available for the mag, they'd reduce the power. There might be other brand valves that will work or something, otherwise straffham's idea sounds pretty solid.
  2. Are you the actual guy from Alyan Airguns, or are you just selling his stuff?
  3. Anyone help me out with some TV stuff? Just bought a proper cheap JVC smart TV, need a wireless adaptor for it, but can't find out which one I need...

Earlier ones wre a bit big and bulky, somtimes making it difficult to get another plug into nearby socket - but have gotten smaller lately - but they work in extension leads even sometimes on a totally seperate ring main upstairs - not 101% perfect but worth looking at for crap signal or saves drilling through walls feeding wired cable etc..

I use HomePlugs to connect my lounge to my router (which is in the spare bedroom with the Master socket - don't ask). Works a treat. MUCH better than wireless.

I have a Netgear Wireless Print Server.

They look like Routers but work 'in reverse'. That is they connect to your Wireless Router and have 4 ethernet sockets and 2 USB Sockets. You can connect a USB Printer to them and turn it in to a network Printer or you can plug PCs in to the Network Sockets and use it as a Switch.

My Router is in the Living Room, My Home office where I spend most of my working life is upstairs. I have a WPS in there for my work PC, game PC, VOIP...

  4. Cheaper than a bottle of .25s?! Where the flying balls (see what I did there?) are you buying your ammo from? £12 is obscene, I can get a bag of BB Bastard .28s for that.
  5. Different trades, I think I might have a legit one, since the WE takes real grips.
  6. Magpul MOE I think Edit: Nope, no idea what it is lol. Much comfier than the standard AR one though, but it does make it slightly more of a stretch to reach the mag release and fire selector, it's noticeably fatter than the stock grip.
  7. I'm not a PC gamer, but I've been following numerous YouTubers who play this often and it looks seriously awesome. It's kinda like Counter Strike meets Battlefield 2's Project Reality mod, only on a much smaller scale. I don't think it looks too bad either. Plus, 3D scopes! All games should have 3D scopes.
  8. Finally got around to taking a photo:
  9. The NAE doesn't suit me, it's bloody miles away and its expensive, if there was an event at my regular site that cost the same as walk on I'd be all for it, but that just isn't realistically going to happen because the people who live more than 2 hours away are never going to see the value in going to a site they've never been to before, for the sole purpose of meeting and playing with people they've never met, for just one day. It's asking too much of people. If we use the pre-existing big events, such as the NAE, I didn't say it had to be the NAE, then people pay their money, they know what to expect, there's a lot to do other than just play airsoft, there's a whole shop there, there's ample facilities for socialising, there's burger vans and stuff, there's camping, people can pitch up in a group and spend a decent amount of time off-field with each other. The big events are just a better option. That's all I'm saying. And it's just undeniably the case. You can try your damnedest to organise something that isn't a pre-existing big event, but the simple fact that it isn't pre-existing is going to mean that hardly anyone's going to turn up. Not being a party pooper, per se. I just think it's better you all realise that now, instead of after you've spent forever organising something only for it to not go as planned.
  10. Does the TM not come with the right stock? That's a bit lame for the price point =/
  11. It amazes me that forum meets always seem to be for the convenience of those living in the South. What the hell guys? Middle, or North would be better, especially if Scotland are expected to be included in this. I think where it falls flat and dies is that no one wants to travel more than about 50 miles just for 1 day of skirmishing because you'd end up spending more time driving than playing and you'd have to get up so early that killing yourself would be a more appealing prospect (I'm not a morning person). For me to even consider it, it'd have to be a weekender event, significantly closer to me, or a day and night game or something. Especially for those of us who rely on car pooling or public transshiteport. Therefore, since it's a bit too much to expect anyone on here to organise a weekender when there's no guarantee anyone will actually turn up, existing weekenders are definitely the best bet. Last year at the NAE we had a pretty decent size camp of AF-UK players, people had brought an interesting mix of stuff, we had our own portaloo and even a generator. Perhaps Ai500 could offer a meet up chance too, but like I said, the only reason I'm willing to travel for those events is because they're established, I know what to expect and despite the distance, they're for more than a day.
  12. That's a feature of the old designs where they used to clamp the bolt face directly to the piston, G&G designs and TM's recoil series don't suffer from this. I feel your pain about it though, it's why I hated blow backs too lol. The Gen2 is essentially the same as the Gen3, the only thing added if I remember correctly is that the Gen3 comes with an active braking mosfet, which in performance terms means you ought to get improved trigger response (the time it takes the gears to spool up, turn over the parts and let off a shot) and you'll be able to run higher voltage batteries without having to worry about burning out any of the electronics. I'd probably get the Gen2 if it were me, the mosfets aren't a necessity at all, and you can always add one later if you find the gun to be underperforming.
  13. Never knew they did an AEG one (Y) The G&G blowbacks don't really alter anything performance related and they don't really make the guns that much more complicated to take apart either. They don't add any stress to the parts as they're powered by air instead of just being clamped to the piston, the guns also perform so ridiculously well out of the box that I would say to just leave them completely alone apart from maybe the barrel and hop rubber. Really good systems in my experience. Blowback without recoil is undoubtably a gimmick, but if you want to have it then G&G is definitely the way to go. The WE AEGs are supposedly pretty decent, but the company have a bit of a mixed reputation due to selling low price gas guns with a history of poor quality parts. They're definitely getting better though, and their AEGs aren't really comparable to their gas guns, I've only heard good about them so far, and their Katana series is pretty popular too. If I wanted a 416 I'd look at the VFC (note that the Umarex 416 is the VFC one, just with trademarks/more trademarks), G&G and Tokyo Marui versions though. All with their owns pros and cons of course, but all perfectly good performers with robust externals. The VFC and G&G are more or level in terms of performance, and all 3 of them use the same gearbox design, but the TM has physical recoil, hence the inflated price. As for SCARs, avoid Ares, they're terrible. High prices because of the exceedingly pretty externals, but the internals are made of swiss cheese and wet biscuits. I'd say G&G, VFC or TM again lol, same exact points about them as before too, same gearbox design in all 3, but the TM has recoil.
  14. As far as I'm aware, the WE 888 is a gas rifle, it's WE's version of the 416c unless I'm mistaken and they've done an AEG one as well?
  15. Haha, it already has. You're in the wrong thread lol.
  16. Cool beans, just need to get my UKARA renewed tomorrow then lol, cheers.
  17. Ok, so as per the title I'm looking at buying a UGL from a private seller in France, will he be able to just post it over no problems? Or will it need any markings putting on it? I'm in two minds... UGLs might not look like guns if seen through a metal detector screen or something, so I'm thinking getting him to mark it up might actually cause me more hassle. =/ I think the "better safe than sorry" approach is probably best when dealing with £160 + postage though, eh? What do I need to have visible on the outside of the package? "Imitation Firearm UKARA number Phone number" ? Anything else?
  18. Wow, that sounds like a fairly colossal fuck up...
  19. How the flying balls did I miss this entire thread?! When you can start doing it again I might send you my L85 TMH to get engraved as the WE is without trades, apart from fire select markings. Weirdly the ICS is the complete opposite... Selector is totally blank but they have trades lol.
  20. Yup, my thoughts exactly. A more lengthy ban would serve no real purpose as the staff and player's evident disapproval is easily punishment enough and will act as its own sentence. Also couldn't agree more on the police involvement front, calling them will probably just make things worse. No one wants the pressure of the rozzers looming over them. As the site said in response to people's outcries on my wall, "It is not the place of myself or my staff to call the police unless they feel a situation is out of control. Before you all jump down my throat YES, the moment of the punch was 'out of control' but as the marshal arrived almost immediately afterwards both players parted and peace was restored."

  22. PLEASE STOP HAVING MORONIC UKARA DEBATES BEFORE I NUKE THE ENTIRE WORLD Thank you.
  23. My worry with blanks has always been more that they might be bad ones and leak small amounts of explosive shit out of them and then if a pyro ever lands on me or something, I might go up like a Christmas tree because of all the residue in my pockets and pouches, hence the sealable bag. Otherwise I'd just have them loose in a pocket. I only tend to reload my BFG when I'm dead, or with someone covering me from a very defendable position, so ease and speed of access aren't really that high on my priorities list.

Nah. Ares don't exactly scream quality and reliability :P Iron Airsoft however, that I would be down for :P

  24. My mate Joe came up with a pretty ingenious solution... Basically, you get the little 100 primer pack that they come in and you cut a line of primers off it with a pair of scissors. Then you simply lay tape over the top of them all. It stops them falling out, but as you peel the tape off, it pulls a primer out of it's little hole for you, then you just pluck it off and flatten the tape again. Works for him fantastically, he just puts them in a pouch like that and gets them out when he needs them. I just put them all in one of those sealable bags and then just shove them in my grenade pouch under the grenade, with the loading tool going in my utility pouch. Each to their own, but his solution was so good I thought it was worth sharing. He also had the idea of using a 12g blank as a .209 primer adaptor. Just knock the primer out of the 12g blank and voila, adaptor.
