The 'What have you just bought' Thread
Nick G replied to Cameron364's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
My understanding is that while the L119 A2 has been seen with this style can ,the later version without the weld bead and a different locking collar is more common for the A2 (more like the Angry Gun one) . I'll probably do a bit of work on the 'weld' and do a bit of paint on the can, but it'll basically stay black to match the RIF 'cos #Black Guns Matter ! -

Airsoft Artisan suppressor for my L119 A1 GBBR . Very nice bit of kit, much more solid than the Angr Gun one and the correct early pattern for the A1 -
Heavier BBs, 0.36 to 0.40, Most Cost Effective To Buy In 2022?
Nick G replied to Fatboy40's topic in General Help
I use Geoffs Bio ones that I get via Ebay . Use .40's in my sniper and have .36's for the DMR I'm building. Very happy with the quality and consistancy of them. -
Showing as out of stock already ! Lots of genuine parts on ebay. Just ordered a nose cap. Father in law's bayonet should look a treat on it ?

Got mine today too, Patrol base at their best ! Does look and feel right (I learned to shoot with a 303 at school) Anyone seen spare mags in stock anywhere ?

Looking at a browning high power mk3 we tech
Nick G replied to parramoom's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
Will do, I suspect there would be a demand. Was thinking about getting a dozen or so, one each for myself and the mate with one, couple of spares and then a few that others can buy. -

I had them added. Jim at LC's engineering did them for me on mine and a mate's one. they were the first ones he did so he spent wuite a bit of time getting fonts etc as close as he could to the referance pictures I sent him. Have to say I am very pleased with the result. I've added real steel grips and the small single safety for a more specific look. -

As above, the valve knocker is prone to breaking, I do plan to see about getting some steel ones cut when I can get to a local engineering place. They are very cool, mine has full British army trades, and can be skirmished but the knocker will fail at some point. Get one ! -
That's probably down to the cold. 200 fps on .25's is just under .5 j . Bear in mind that TM being a Japanese company work to their 1 j max power . TM rifles also chrono low but still match any others for range I'm told. If the Hi cappa was working well and still getting decent range in the cold then it sounds OK . I run mainly GBBRs these days and power levels are markedly lower when the temperatures drop below 10 degrees.

Amazing work, though personally not a fan of the MP5, that colour actually makes it look like a toy rather than looking real to my eyes. But keep the amazing work coming !
-
Personally I'd go for the GBB, but then I play pretty much exclusivly gas these days. Prefer the extra imersion of the recoil (yes I know the ngrs recoils) and the fact that GBBRs strip like the real steel and don't like the extra complications of recoil on an aeg and unnecisary electronic systems . Each to there own , the TM ngrs range has a great reputation although I believe there have been some issues with the MP5

Do you have A Feyachi Red dot? Edit.. contacted Feyachi. 5* support
Nick G replied to Khyber's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
This is what I did, the polycarb is shaped to follow the contours of the top of the sight. Attached with double sided tape. Not visible from a couple of feet away and very secure. -

Just cut a piece of polycarbonate to fit infront of mine -

I've got a couple of those, really decent little red dot's for the money -
I rather think I might be ! ?

Completely accidental and my fault not his. I was just hoping to get the term 'Blind Peaking' into common ussage ?
-
Ouch ! but we've all done it , and it's easily done Our local site always mentions blind firing in the safety brief but Shooting from the hip is ok as long as you have a clear sight of your target. The marshalls are pretty good at enforcing it too. Get shot in the face 'cos of your own idiocy and everyone will quite rightly take the piss ?
-
Oh totally. The guy that shot me is a mate anyway and as I said he was doing everythig right . Just my bad timing , serves me right for being a numpty and not peaking whilst on a knee !
-
Soooo what do we call it when some idiot sticks his head round a corner just as you pull the trigger ? I did that at a pistols and shotties game a couple of years ago. Peaked round a building just as a guy from the other team pulled the trigger, tri shot to the face at about 3 feet ? Totally not his fault, he was aiming down the barrel at someone in another building . Blind peaking ? ??

Gun / Spring / FPS / Energy Reference Wiki
Nick G replied to S Porteous's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
The problem with something like that is that there are so many variables. Springs vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, air seals vary even between identical guns etc. as a rule we generally know that in a well sealed gun an M95 or M100 will get you in the right ball park for the majority of AR types. I cant honestly see people bothering to update it. -
I can relate to that, in the morning it's all tac vest full metal gun and a load of gas mags plus secondary. After lunch its the plastic MP5 and a mag in each trouser pocket !

You should be able to swap the free float barrel nut for a delta ring with no issues. As you have pointed out there is lots more to an L119 A1 than a stock (it's not an XM stock in fact) and hand guard . I would say if you are planning to go the L119 build direction then I would say plan to do a complete build , start with a base gun that has a delta ring, hand guard and triangle sight, then get a list together of the parts you'll need and the details that are very different to a generic M4. That way you wont be buying parts twice ! There are a few of us on here who do L119 builds who can help with the details and a shopping list. Good luck with the build.

Ah fair enough, that'll be my eyesight then ! ?
