Then I suspect you have been lucky, or A/G have paid attention and improved the locking mech. Mine (and I've had 2) were both fine to start with but over time the locking system has failed.
-
Maybe the issue is specific to the 119 A2 type ones , they just stop locking basically . Fit can on flash hider rotate locking collar and can still loose or even just falls off. Seems to be a common issue with that particular model.

The A/G Surefires have a habbit of the locking system failing after a while. The number of folk on the Facebook L119 owners club page that have had issues is huge , including me. https://airsoftartisan.com/products/airsoft-artisan-fh556-style-silencer-with-fh216a-flash-hider?variant=31118422114363 Got one of these now and it's rock solid. Dytac SureLiar SOCOM RC1 Supressor 1574mm - Acetech Tracer compatible - Airsoft World also got one of these which is awesome. Doesn't use a flash hider just screws straight on to the barrel . Ive used both on my L119 GBBR with no issues. If you want it removable with an integral flash hider get the Airsoft artisan one, if you are happy to just leave it fitted I'd get the Sureliar

You certainly want to clean the inner barrel (best to do that after every game day) . Cant hurt to clean and relube the bolt too, but not as essential. I tend to strip my GBBR's and clean the bolts and re apply lube monthly or if I've been playing in very mucky conditions I'll do it post game.

Todays (mainly) DPM loadout of choice with the L119 A1 GBBR. Just after the pic was taken the sight protector took a hit, saved the sight though !

Cracking day today. Only 20 odd players so we played a load of 30 minute games . All very punchy and hard faught but all extremely good natured. I do like low number days, play tends to be much more tactical 'cos we all know each other and naturally fall into working together properly. Had a clear demonstration of why sight protectors are a good thing when the protector on my 552 took a hit and broke. Sight was fine though. And the GBBR's were really rocking 😁

In the car at the mo I've got Black Sabbath, AC/DC, blackberry Smoke and Whitesnake. And 'cos I've been enjoying the sunday lunches I dug out my (cassete) copy of Toyah's Anthem . Yes I still have a casette player / multi CD combo in the car !

Never, no one ever needs one of the things. Granted I am an absolute technophobe and see them as pointless stupid electronic crap that will fail at some point ! 🤣

Not a RIF I have, but isn't there a system in these (lever?) that stops it firing when the mag is empty ? I'd be looking at that, maybe something got forced out of place when it hit the ground. If that's the case then the mag that alows dry firing wont alow it to cycle either.

I'd second the ZCI barrel, got one in mine and its a very good barrel. Personally hop rubber wise I tend to use either Maple leaf or Rocket ones, but Prommy should do well. On the spring front, it'sworth checking to see if it has an adjustable spring guide . Many JG's do and my AUG has one (discovered once I'd opened the box to fit a stronger spring !) The AUG is a great platform and nice and easy to work on, have fun with it.

Yep I prefer the A1 to the A2 tbh, but I had the front spare after i swapped my aeg A2 to a short , so ....... 🤣

L11 L119 A1 short (the top one is mine) and A2 long build in progress. Both have stock hop with Maple leaf rubber and omega nub fitted and Crazy jet barrels. The A1 has an RAtec NPAS but the A2 is a DMR so runs unfettered. The A1 has RA tec internals in the trigger box but not due to any failures just that I had them and decided to fit them. The A1 has had a lot of use with typically 1000 / 1200 rounds through it on a game day and loads in the garden. No failures of stock parts and both run red gas pretty much all year unless its a very hot day.
-
I can honestly say I've not had any failures and the L119 A1 has had many thousands of BBs through it. Still on it's original nozzle. Does have RAtec parts in the trigger box , only fitted a couple of months ago, but tbf that was more about enjoying tinkering, the original parts were still working fine. It rarely gets used in full auto which may extend sear life. Both have Maple leaf rubbers and omega nubs fitted along with Crazy jet barrels and the A1 has an NPAS fitted. I've made up a long tool for adjusting the hop , but once set it rarely needs adjusting .

just to mirror everything Super64 says . Factor in cost of mags, I typically run 5 mags and a speed loader for a game and get over 2 BB fills to 1 gas fill. Develope yor playing style to suit carefull single shots and double taps , and it's very satisfying. My L119 A1 and A2 are both based on WE m4's so fundamentally the same platform as the m16 , and I can't fault them tbh. Fit an NPAS to get the power level down or semi lock it and run as a DMR . I always take an aeg to a game day as well as the GBBR's and the aeg never comes out of it's bag unless the temperature drops really low.

pretty much any WE inlet valve should work , I tend to get mine from KY airsoft and buy a few at a time.
-
I'm seeing about 0.8 j on mine with .30's (about 300 fps in old money) It's incrdibly consistant so I'm happy that it's pretty well sealed . Happily ranges out with aeg's and very accurate too by airsoft standards. So PB's 395 is optamistic unless mine , which came from PB, is a Japanese market one . Might have a restricter fitted or a weaker spring, I'll have a look when I open it up but not bothering to do that untill something breaks.

Can't remember what mine chrono'd at last time. I'll try and check it later.

Looking at a browning high power mk3 we tech
Nick G replied to parramoom's topic in Guns, Gear & Loadouts
From memory £60 which I felt was reasonable for the amount and quality of work. -

Yes it is, along with real grips -
Yep they can be swapped over, put the ring one on a mates to get it closer to his old service weapon.

I paid £299 for mine from Patrol base with mags at about £30 a go I deliberatly waited as I wasn't prepared to pay the £450 figures being asked by a couple of sites.
-
Absolute hoot using it like that. I run .30's in mine and am very impressed with the performance out of the box . 2 or 3 mags and a speed loader and you're good to go !
-
Most of the internals are vsr based. It's worth joining the S&T SMLE owners group on facebook. There are one or two on there that have pushed the power levels up. Most of us seem to use it as a combat rifle without having to worry about MED which is alot of fun.

I'll get round to it eventually, the AK one does work well though 😁
